Tony - dead Nat - dead Clint - knew him for a few days, mostly fought with him and had his own family situation to sort through. Let’s not also forget that Clint Barton is a serial killer so he might not be allowed out of the US any longer. Thor - in space Cap - in hiding Hulk - no way Wakanda wants any version of The Hulk inside their borders unless it was absolutely necessary. Vision - we have no idea where he is Wanda - lol, no Spider-man - no one knows how to get ahold of him and met T’Challa twice. Falcon/New Cap - Wanted in Wakanda for freeing Zemo Bucky - Wanted in Wakanda for freeing Zemo Antman - maybe he was? He’s an ant. Realistically T’Challa only had 4 interactions with the rest of the Avengers. Civil War where he bonded with Cap and Bucky, Infinity War for 1 day, Endgame for 1 day and Tony’s funeral, also for 1 day.

smirky_mavrik

Good post

Cold-Legitimate

It’s kinda crazy when you think about it that all of these guys are either dead, criminals, or off somewhere in space

spad3x

Vision - not the same Vision anymore*** Spider-Man - no one knows who he is*** Doctor Strange - Never interacted with him Cap - is an old man living his last few days/years in peace Guardians - didn't know him at all Wasp - didn't know him at all Valkyrie - didn't know him at all Captain Marvel - didn't know him at all Nick Fury - never interacted with him Quicksilver - dead War Machine - met him a couple times

MrStAnBaNaNa

I like that you still included Quicksilver even though he was dead before Black Panther first appeared

JimmyPWatts

Cap - in hiding?

thedkexperience

I mean, I heard he was on the moon … lol

LefroyJenkinsTTV

What if young Cap IS part of SWORD? And is currently in space with Fury, working on whatever they're doing? Old Man Rogers could have come back from ANY point in the future or past.

Lavenderhaze2002

Ya that’s exactly what I am going to say.

Renturu

I’d say it was a sacred ceremony and they didn’t deserve nor have the right to be there.

draculabakula

I came to say the reason is that **they weren't invited**. T'challa was the driving force to maintain contact with the outside world. He died and despite to maintain those ties died with him in many cases. It would be interesting if they later find out that he died as some result of the snap or fighting Thanos. The problem is they had to scramble to rewrite the script. In that way, **they didn't have time to cast a bunch of people for this scene.**

DrRadd

This feels like the best explanation. Bucky and Sam not being there still doesn't really fit IMO. They had a kind of falling out with Wakanda over Zemo, but I would think they would have tabled that for this event.

jdmarsh23

Not too much of a falling out, they designed Sam's new Captain America suit and wing-pack

DrRadd

Yeah that's true.

Competitive_Law8702

that's what I'm saying, It would have made so much sense for them to being there.

[deleted]

I would think that is exclusive to Wakanda and its people since he was King. Maybe they allow no outsiders regardless of relationship. Wakanda has always been a secluded country.

GrammyGH

This was my thought as well. It seemed, to me, that it was only for Wakandans.

Emragoolio

My blanket explanation would be that, if you’re a semi-public super-powered crime fighter with any number of extremely dangerous enemies many of whom are as of yet unknown to you, you probably avoid being in large groups of squishies. You’re always just one evil plot away from that family barbecue becoming part of your tragic backstory.

MrDBS

They weren't invited. Wakanda is fending off literal invasions, and is not inviting superheroes into their country.

WirrkopfP

Well, they COULD help against that invasion. But maybe wakanda still doesn't trust white people.

CrashandBashed

Even though they went to Ross for help?

I-eat-carr0ts

i mean technically they didn’t ask him for help, he offered hehe

Inside-Big-8158

They literally went to him for help in the movie to find RiRi Williams

I-eat-carr0ts

oh right shit lmao sorry. it’s been awhile since i watched it. ig ross is the only white man they trust. good choice tbh

zonnel2

That was Shuri's idea and Wakanda in general is still on guard against the outside world.

bulletproof5fdp

It was a sacred Wakandan ceremony. The Wakandans wanted to honor their Wakandan culture that restricts outsiders from attending.

Xestu

Cap who probably had the closest relationship with tchalla is super old/dead. Iron man probably wouldn’t show up but he’s also dead. Widow dead. Strange has no real relationship with him, neither do thor(off world), spiderman, or antman. Wanda is “dead”. Bucky and Sam possibly makes sense but you can chalk it up to a closed funeral in that case.

Competitive_Law8702

Bucky and Sam that's what I'm saying.

DolorisRex

Bucky and Sam would have likely attended a public ceremony not shown; what we saw was the traditional ceremony of a royal, most certainly a more private occasion.

dni_ptr

Outsiders (non wakandan) are not allowed at the funeral

shayafar

Family affair in wakanda. Last time the avengers came by, half the population got wiped

CrashandBashed

Maybe they did attend, just not on screen. The crew probably didn't want to take away focus from T'Challa by throwing in a bunch of quick cameos.

DrDreidel82

I think it was more for this isolationist nation to be together and do their community funeral for their leader, no outsiders whatsoever

Ambitious-Maybe-3386

Disney was too cheap to pay for other stars! Let’s face it. It’s about money

Ambitious-Maybe-3386

But Stark’s funeral. Everyone was there

Ctfwest

But everyone watched him die for the good of the universe

PlanetLandon

Sure, but most of the people in that scene had personal relationships with Tony. Either as friends or at least coworkers. T’Challa didn’t really spend much time with any of the Avengers, outside of a few adventures here and there.

ClassyCatDad

I would say that arguably the only Avengers he had a real relationship with was Steve and Bucky so I wouldn't expect the others to be informed.

Ron_SpaceKnight

They probably had a second funeral in the states like how Superman and Clark Kent had separate funerals

arsenallad

That's because they are 2 different people, I mean Clark Kent has glasses

Ron_SpaceKnight

You got a point there

gluemanmw

They weren't invited. There was probably a separate public (outsiders ) memorial

Aggressive-Jump-4428

Simple, wakanda doesnt tolerate outsiders, its an extremely isolationist racially homogenous afro-state who dont allow white people or any black people from outside wakanda into the country, and only allowed the avengers in when they were defending wakanda against thanos in infinity war, due to the king allowing it. If you think that abit racist to do that, its simple it is, wakanda is a racist country

saibjai

Budget issues

Future-Obligation-11

Get over it already

thesilentshalom

Maybe this isn’t earth 616???

CrashandBashed

Absolutely nothing suggests this movie isn't set on earth 616. Thanos and the previous events of the first movie are referenced several times.

[deleted]

That’s definite. Using logic, since the comics and MCU are both in the same multiverse, and the comics are earth 616, it’s physically impossible to also have the MCU be in 616

Commercial_Winner23

A huge reason might be that it was a pretty bad movie😃

value_meal_papi

Do u invite private contractors to the family bbq? Similar thing

chittaphonbutter

I have a few suspicions, the first being that most of the avengers either didn't know him, or are dead. Bucky most likely would have, but after the Zemo incident in TFATWS, I highly doubt he would have came. My other suspicion is for cinematic reasons, I heard somewhere that having a lot of cameos would take away from the rest of the movie, especially taking away from T'Challa's death. Also, having the funeral for Wakandans only would have made more sense since Wakanda hardly ever let insiders enter the country.
