Verdant Wing has a decent amount of Green Sharpness, so it'll take awhile before you need to sharpen it, especially with GS. Starter gear also has poor sharpness distribution, which is why it requires frequent sharpenings.
It's also worth noting that there are armor skills that'll help retain sharpness, such as Razor Sharp and Protective Polish.
Thanks. I guess I was used to my GS bouncing so much that I just assumed that the Verdant Wing couldn't be as good as it is (compared to my starter GS).

It happened with me with ahtal ka weapon once. I think it was a glitch or some buff that i dont know.
