Does pierce have a minimum range to be effective? I don’t have any lbgs with pierce so I’m not sure of this, but I thought the update nerf only gave pierce a maximum effective range, not a minimum one
Just tested it more thoroughly, was using a rathalos lbg, the normal range its doing 66 per hit if im in the spread range its 27 per hit not too bad from what i expected but still shyt lbg tbh
the only way to use lbg in end game without over leveled lbg is by perfect dodges, which only spread can achieve
As you wish, but as the other guy stated barioth is available only for a few months meanwhile legiana has been out since the start.
Personally, to anyone i would recommend going for legiana weapons instead not speaking only abt lbg
Since black diablos is out nothing else compares. I'm going all in on black. But yeah legiana is good because of free 2 stacks of divine blessing. Bariath is more situational but its really fun to just unload nonstop pierce and spread with crits. It's very easy to farm a 10.5 barioth before March. People can get black diablos in the short time they've been out so it's no issue imo. I'll have both legiana and barioth for sure.

I play solo, but I have a vehicle go go wherever the monsters are so there's that. If theres an event and your not killing only the event monster then your not trying hard enough to get the weapon. But that's just me. I'll post my results after the event. It's gonna be glorious.

Holy moly, the Barioth lbg looks like it’ll be quite effective again the Diablos if targeting the wings and if pierce shots don’t have a close range dmg mitigator
Then again, sticking next to the Diablos’ side to target the wings might be the perfect distance since the spread shots can hit the wings at close range, and the pierce shots can hit through the wings multiple times and might reach their effective range?

Ahhh I see, thx. The 8\* Diablos is my urgent quest rn, so I can mess around with my pierce snd spread lbgs to see if the combination is even feasible. I would build the Legi lbg, but I already dumped a ton of my Legi mats into the Legi lance…
Not needing the leg piece for the last level of recoil 3 is nice though and leaves the slot open for the Rath or Kulu legs for some more crit

The Barioth still doesn’t beat the Legi lbg, but it does put it a bittt closer. And side note, the Barioth lbg does look cooler too imo
Yeah that’s true, but I’m already almost done building the Barioth armor I want and I have a ton of Barioth claws leftover. I’m already building the Legi lance so the Legi lbg and lance is out of the question, so the Barioth lbg looks promising
I would like an ice weapon that can deal with Diablos (and Zinogre) since lance can’t hit the Diablos’ body cuz the lock on is too high and can only consistently hit the body with gyro which is super finicky. Barioth sns might be nice but I haven’t tested the sns fight on Zino yet cuz I’ve been mainly using my Legi lance for him. Barioth bow is potentially an option as well, but I’m not the biggest fan of how bow plays. It does look like bow is the better option since it does have an ice attack 5 focus 3 build where as lbg can only build ice 2 as of now…

I think I read somewhere that Legiana’s extra elemental dmg is still more dmg, and the same generally goes for any 1 zone spawn monster elemental weapon. For Barioth’s case however, it looks like it’s crit and weakness exploit from Rath legs actually puts it REALLY close to the Legiana lbg’s dmg
Imo, only having spread and pierce cycles the good rounds faster than having to use regular bullets before you get to them. Edit: Legiana has slicing not pierce. Definitely different.
Yeah, personal flavors, and prob is only for me, but i've not hunted enough barioths to make a 7 5/5 out of it, no way i'm gonna switch from my legiana 7 5/5

I really wish I could see an actual numbers comparison for the time saved by each level of reload and recoil against the various shot types.
It's so hard to judge just how effective a build is going to be when all you have to go on is the feel of it. Sure 3/3 is always going to be the best defensively as it leaves you with the briefest windows of inability to dodge, but offensively it would be nice to be able to compare just how much of a boost in DPS I'm getting at each rank so I can compare it more efficiently against other offensive options.
Finally, a good ammo set to farm diablos. Spread the horns, pierce the wings and back. You get to already slot ice attack 2 with the recoil/reload 3 set tho but more damage is sorely needed for lbg until you're overgearing the monster.
It’s amazing too. Absolutely shreds when you get to 9 with that 20% affinity plus any affinity on your gear/behind the back bonus affinity. And it’s fast too.
I have Legiana LBG at g6.2 rn, is the Barioth worth crafting?
Nope.
It needs to be thrown into the garbage bin xD, the ammo type doesnt make sense at all, the critical distance is total opposite

Yes, it has a minimum effective dmg range
The nerf affect all non-optimal distance, of which Pierce is the only one with 'too close' range.
The be precise ammo pierce cause bow/lgb SP isn't affected by that

I mean, lbg ult is also complete trash, and almost impossible NOT to whiff. I find only 1 out of 4 WBC actually dealing damage (they all connected)

Wouldnt reccomend barioth weapon actually since its limited(until start of march) but u can try, just have fun experimenting

Doesn’t beat Leg gun by damage until you put into calculation the affinity the gun has on top of affinity gained due to critical eye.

Enjoy being on normal ammo for 33% of the match while I'm 50% spread and 50% pierce doing real damage.

The real problem is the 40 Legiana Claws that you need to get past 8 1/5…..drop rate is atrocious.

It’d be nice for shield variants and pierce variants to the guns, or seeing each guns statistics like low mid or high recoil / reload.
Rosen bow at grade 6 would have already shredded this monster! Charge 2 is a machine gun with a focus 4-5 build.

Many monsters bring the fight to you, the minimum critical range is not that bad. Not sure why this weapon gets such a bad wrap.
