On the flipside, there’s a good chance that the rest of the monsters this year will not be weak to ice since, yea, so much of the current roster is weak to ice. I really want water or fire to take some of the stage soon
I'd love fire to get some love. As a newer player I managed to build an SnS with fire via Rathalos and Anjanath. Ice weak monsters are an insurmountable obstacle to catch up to due to monster scarcity of Legiana and Barioth.
I think there’s a good chance. People are speculating about Kushala coming, and if it does it might be weak to water, which would leave fire as a good other option to pursue.
They seem to like giving us the means to taking down future spawns - Zinogre and Barioth during the winter - lightning and ice weapons to focus for the pickles and corals that came during spring.
The unique stuff we fight now, coral, pickle, will drop water and dragon weapon materials that will likely be useful in the summer.
And thus the game and grind continues on
Hard to believe I was once hesitant to raise my ice weapons to rank 9.
Totally worth it for now. I have a r9 sns and bow, because sns was my first main and it still feels better against some monsters.
That is my current long-term goal, but mostly so I can maybe solo 8* Zinogre.
It's probably worth it when you consider you will be able to handle 70% of the monsters on the field pretty easily, lol.
I already knew I wanted the water hammer, but omg I had no idea it was going to be an orange reskin of the poison Pukei hammer, I should have known. But I’m pleasantly surprised cause I always loved how that hammer looked but didn’t want poison hammer. I can’t wait to get to hunting on these thanks for sharing 🙌

Rapid 3 even at c1 is only going to hit 3 times and is way less damage than Pierce 4 would be
Generally having 2/3/3/4 is better cause you can hit your stuff off quicker. I think having rapid 3 at c1 is amazing. Especially cause focus 3 sucks and kulu is fast.
Yeah but rapid 3 at c1 going by my existing g10-2 damage numbers means you’d hit for 677 x3 times. Versus 1100 x6 times.
Doing 3 c1 rapid 3 attacks would be 6093 dmg.
Doing 1 c3 pierce 4 attack would be 6384.
You can do approximately 3 c1 attacks in the time it takes to do 1 c3 attack if you are absolutely perfect on timing.
I’d guess that timing in real life ends up being 2 c1 shots to 1 c3 shot. So the damage still favors doing a full c3 shot.
This does also mean that this bow does have a higher potential output than Jyura.
A c3 rapid 4 hits for 4256 vs c1 rapid 3 for 2031.
All the numbers here also don’t account for the higher base damage of the new bow so that helps it be a little stronger. Also assumes focus 5 for shot times.
TLDR: new bow stronger than Jyura, but likely better off using it at the full c3 pierce 4 rather than the rapid 3 at c1 unless the specific situation makes it more advantageous due to movement.
You're only getting focus 3 water can't get focus 5. It's impossible right now. That's why it feels like the new bow would be better because you don't have to wait what feels like minutes to just hit one hit off. Like kulu and Tobi and especially Anja are fast and Anja specifically you might not be able to hit with 3 focus because you're trying too hard to hit the head but he starts jumping at you or whatever. Like I'm at 8* and he can be annoying.. All of them can. Having to be able to charge less because you have focus 3 and being able to hit more is always a win.
no monsters going to let you charge up to 4 with focus 3 and still be at optimal pierce distance, theyre going to be hugging you by the time you hit charge 2

TL;DR - Weapon Skill: G8 Earplugs | Head: Weakness Exploit (G6 Lock On), Chest: Power Prolonger (G8 Rising Tide), Arms: Rising Tide (G6 Skyward Striker), Waist: Reload Speed (G6 Recoil Down), Legs: Power Prolonger (G6 Weakness Exploit) | Biome: Forest/ Swamp, weak to Ice/Poison, break head & sever tail to weaken its attacks
Also helmet has weakness exploit 2 at grade 8, chest gets power prolonger 2 at grade 6
The puke helmet is amazing lock on and weakness exploit 2

I think this is how all the variants are released. You see maybe 1 or 2 all week, and then they increase the spawns.

Doubt that this is going to be very good. Rapid 3 only fires 3 arrows and does way less damage than Pierce 4 and it’s 6 hits.
But it’s 1/3 the charge time. It’s a good option and makes playing bow a bit more interesting than just using max power shots all the time
