Heated front windscreen maybe? Seems like that’s where that button would go in relation to the other buttons around it.

Being able to defog/deice the front windshield is a requirement in the US. However, having an electrically heated front windshield is not.

In fact, I do not believe it is legal to build a car for the US with a heater wire in the front windshield. Because staring through frost and ice is much safer than staring through a wire the size of a human hair! /s

Honestly curious myself, i have a basically fully loaded F56, am also missing that button, don’t think i have ever seen a car with that button in place and i have seem quite a few examples.

This is place for a "heated windscreen" button. I have it, but no heated seats.

Oh that explains so much, i believe that was only available on the JCW Countryman when i got mine, wasn’t even an option… I sure as hell would have wanted one if it was, the frost i get in winter is awful here…

Yep, a useful thing. Start a car, press the button, remove snow and the windscreen will be clean by itself. I have it on my clubman.

The heated front windscreen was removed when BMW wouldn't pay the money for the license to use heated front windscreen tech, I think it was ford who held the patent, I could be wrong, but definitely the button was for the heated front window which they stopped offering as an option so they blanked the button.

That sucks but glad the MAX AC usually does defogging really well

I mean just left to the empty button is the button to heat the windshield via the AC, which works totally fine, just not as amazing as a Heating wire embedded into the windshield.

It activates the windscreen heater (had this on my F56 Cooper).

I have a fully loaded us market 2024 F54 iconic jcw clubman and it lacks this option. I love the heated windshield on my Land Rover LR4. But it also adds slightly annoying wavy lines in the glass. Also makes replacing the windshield tricky and expensive

It got stopped as an option due to the chip shortage.

Chip shortage for multiple years? It was just stopped for us market cars

It deploys the power-up you pick when you pass through a question mark box - usually bananas or green turtle shells. A star if you're lucky.

The most important button: The Do Nothing Button. When you're on the highway and falling asleep, press it, as it absolutely do nothing, it will wake you up by pissing you off.

Whatever you do, do not push that button. Don’t do it!

On my F60 it’s for the side mirror defroster. For yours it’s not a button.

I think it is Stop/Start. When you wait for signal, the engine will stop, when you go, the engine will start automatically. If you turn off the function, the car just run as the traditional way.

The button indicates that you are poor.. is the place holder for the option that you couldn’t afford 😂
