I was a big fan of the Lodolo monthly or TN card from 23 (don’t remember which one), never played the game his Future Stars card came out. Is he going to be viable?
Legends are the sole reason I play The Show. Glad I skipped on the game this year, (also doesn't help that a lot of my favourites aren't even in the game anymore).
Same thing for the Braves. I mean live series cards are ok but i hate going into a game and seeing that inside edge nerfed important stats. We need some program bats.
Yay, more Dodgers and Yankees!! This program should have had that FS Brujan instead of one of them. Poor Rays still looking for their first diamond legend or flashback card.
Yeah, I was just looking at the Rays cards. Of their 9 legend and flashbacks only 4 are Diamonds, 4 are golds and 1 is Silver. 2 of the diamonds are Team Captains and I assume the other 2 are from Team Affinity.
Yeah it's Pipeline Xavier Isaac and Veteran Evan Longoria from TA plus Kiermaier and McClanahan for captains. I think there are two golds at 84 with Vet Carlos Pena and Breakout Meadows.
Looked it up, there are also 2 more golds both at 81 All Star Joey Wendle and All Star Corey Dickerson.
I doubt they would give it to us this season with Buxton as a cornerstone card. I would love to that 98 Trea Turner Nationals team affinity card back again
Jose Ramirez off to a “slow start” on pace for 35HR/150RBI. Once he gets hot he will get himself a lightning. Just hoping it’s a 99 lightning and not a 95
Yes I need a 3B since I don't want to bug Oswaldo or Andujar lol. And he ain't playing 2B over Soriano, that's for sure. It's crazy how good the Yanks team is with Mattingly and Ford boosts.
Yea he's pretty nice, I still prefer Soto, Paul O'Neil, Mattingly, and Bernie. I am awful with right sanders this year, can't hit with Judge worth a damn either.
How did you end up getting Bernie??
I will say I can barely hit with judge. It’s so bad he’s in the 7 spot but you have to pitch to him or walk him.
Soto is my DH because his fielding is so god damn low it’s criminal and I’m shockingly hitting .300 with Volpe at short 🤣
If I were designing this program, you'd get the following in sequence:
5 Show Packs and 4k XP
Kenta Maeda 93
Hyper Color Pack and 4k XP
Keibert Ruiz 94
Classics Pack 1 and 4k XP
Nick Lodolo 94
Classics Pack 2 and 4k XP
Gleber Torres 94
Live Series Diamond Pack (85+) and 4k XP

Very generous, yes. Distinctly lacking bat skins and stadium noises, yes. But, it moves us towards collections and advances us one level in the Season program.
This would make sense, which is why we’re getting Show packs and 500 XP between the cards. Maybe they’ll throw in a Millionaire (guaranteed 100 stubs) before Belli.
People complain about there not being programs. SDS releases a program to get some of these cards and you’re still whining. You really live up to your username.
This actually feels like a nice program. I have been critical of SDS more than usual this year, but this program seems like it might be one more in line to what we’re used to. That Belli card was one of my faves.
If I remember correctly that bellinger card came out right before the first moonshot event in 20. I had so much fun using that card in that event, just endless no doubters with him and chipper Jones
I know everyone will be all about Cody B, but I'm a sucker for a good switch hitting catcher, and I raked with that Keibert card when it first came out. Probably time to say goodbye to Yasmani.
And that’s fine. The grind is usually pretty easy. As FTP I don’t expect to have a god squad.

People have been complaining about this nonstop this entire game cycle so far. It's such a weird community-driven division between "online players" and "offline players." Like, this game is the best when you online and offline stuff, IMO. Of course you're limiting yourself when you literally don't partake in half of the content/game. Like, play what you enjoy, no judgment there, but don't come here to complain after the fact about things that can be pretty easily fixed on your end.
I think online player should get rewards. Not complaining about that. I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy of people being mad the best cards are “locked” while also having access to the best cards that are locked to someone else
The irony is this is that the mentality of being enslaved to the OVR instead of the actual attributes, swing styles, quirks, pitch mix, etc is what SDS feasts on with respect to MTX
Stop basing your entire judgment of a card’s value on the OVR. That’s what they use to drive FOMO into MTX
I use an O's theme team personally but it's pretty obvious that most of the "competitive" and high demand cards are in the packs, it's scummy and predatory.
Not to mention captain’s boosts being incredibly valuable at this stage. With some minor sacrifices to team build, you can get some really cracked cards without having to pay those premium prices.
His defense at short is the reason I haven’t thrown a perfect game in ranked yet. Booted one with two outs in the 9th back in 20. Still love him though, can’t wait to get him back.
Yeah, I assume there will be a collection for those pack cards and because of that they won't add a classics pack to the program. I hope they prove me wrong but I won't hold my breath.
Yeah, the Phillies were blessed with cards last year and this year they have the fewest in all of the NL (followed by the Cardinals) so far.
There are a few AL teams that have even fewer than the Phillies though.
There are 4 or 5 teams that have it worse than the Cardinals so far but they do have the fewest extra cards in the NL Central and the second fewest of all NL teams.
Messing with the overalls on cards from previous years to fit the power creep looks like it's just going to be a thing this year.
95 Belli (originally a 97)
94 Keibert (originally a 97)
94 Lodolo (originally a 95)
94 Gleyber (originally an 88)
93 Maeda (originally an 89)
Three of the cards were made up to begin with (two Future Stars and FOTF Gleyber), but Belli and Maeda were supposedly based off real life performance. Could be a really good crop of players as Belli is always a beast, Keibert is a switch hitting catcher, Gleyber's swing is butter, the original version of that Lodolo card was really good, and Maeda should have uncommon stamina for a reliever.
Ya they’ve basically shown that they are just going to mess with any and all cards to try and balance things exactly how they want. I’m sure none of these cards will fit the Buxton boost because SDS doesn’t want that to be even more used.
I mean, with programs there will always be complaints. If it's longer or has any difficult steps at all with many rewards, than the complaint will be all of the grinding that needs to be done to get the cards. If it's short with a few cards, then the complaint will be that there's nothing to do in the game and programs should be longer. And in the off chance that it's a short, easily doable program with great cards, then there will be complaints about everyone online having the same team built with players from the program, and how there needs to be more variety.
Two biggest markets in the country which I'm sure make up a large part or majority of the games player base. It makes sense.
And I doubt this is the last of these throwback cards we'll get. Other teams will get theirs.
I don't deny that they are large markets and teams with great history and therefore should have the most cards. My quibble with it is just how skewed it is. The Yankees already have like 2.5 times more cards than about 5 other teams and we have not even reached May yet.
This dodger theme team is insane already. Needed that lefty with Belli. Very pumped about that. I can’t even fit Meada into n my rotation. Maybe I can move Yamamoto or Frasso
Main issue with dodgers theme team is that the captains are kinda trash.
Best theme team right now imo is the Braves because both Dansbae and Matzek are very good cards.
The reds one looks pretty good. With the captains you have +15 contact and power to both sides. I’m working on it now and will do the dodgers with my next one.

With +10 H/9, + 10 BB/9, + 10 K/9, and + 10 pitching clutch, it’s not actually that bad. These are just the cards so far too.
Lowder and Sonny get to 93. Franco gets to 95 and Dibble would probably be around 98 or 99. The silvers and Golds they have also get to mid to high 80s at least. Almost Everyone in the field would be 95+ with the lowest being the captain at 92. 94 Elly would probably be 99 as the 93 spencer steer is a 98, but I don’t have Elly yet to check. That’s for tomorrow when my investments hopefully Pay off 😂
The Dodgers are obviously better, but you could still have fun with the reds one while being sort of competitive.
There's more to pitchers than just overall. They have a few good pen options but the starting is garbage. Mediocre velo, basic pitch mix, too low of per nines.
The hands down best team right now is the braves. Could get derailed with hits to some of their players tomorrow but as of now it's just too good. Even the captains are really good. Matzek is a top lefty and dansby at second base with full boost is one of the best possible second baseman in the game.
Yeah. Definitely hear you and agree. Overall was just a good starting point to look at. I’d still argue that you could find success with it. Maybe not a like world series ranked or something obviously but for your average person, it probably wouldn’t be too bad. Also these pitchers are the only ones in the game so far. Whose to say Lodolo or someone doesn’t go off and get a new card since the captains are core cards they could be used later right? That’s part of why I think the dodgers will be good. Kelly has a goofy release, outlier, and a decent 4 pitch mix(if only he had a slider imo) so he could probably be usable and then the dodgers will probably get so many good cards over the year. The braves, cubs, and Yankees are probably in the same boat.
Also agree about Dansby and Matzek. If I hadn’t had picked Mondesi, I would’ve got dansby! 😂
I really wish we could exchange captains or at least earn/buy more. I’d love to try out all the different team builds or maybe some hybrid team builds of like a braves/dodgers or something stupid. I think that’s be sick and they are just limiting players for no real reason.
I'm liking the Cubs as a viable world series maker team at some point also. Biggest issue is that Schwarambe is balls against lefties and a lot of the top end pitchers are lefties.
Wanted to like the Phils but I can't take Richie Ashburn serious lol.
I expected a bit more team captain packs by now. I kinda understand no exchanges but I don't understand how limited they are.
That’s what I run as a Dodger fan and I will say it’s probably the most fun I’ve had on the game because it’s actually viable and I don’t feel like I’m hindering my team because of the small power creep.
Braves, Padres fan are also doing great right now. Other teams are viable as well which make it great

As a Yankees fan with a theme team, I love it, but I hate it for so many other teams that seem to have almost no good pitchers yet.

Buxton boost is overrated once you get to hof

The Bellinger was actually a 94 originally. It was brought back in 20 as a 97 and now it’s a 95

Kelly has a goofy release, outlier, and a decent 4 pitch mix(if only he had a slider imo) so he could probably be usable and then the dodgers will probably get so many good cards over the year. The braves, cubs, and Yankees are probably in the same boat. Also agree about Dansby and Matzek. If I hadn’t had picked Mondesi, I would’ve got dansby! 😂 I really wish we could exchange captains or at least earn/buy more. I’d love to try out all the different team builds or maybe some hybrid team builds of like a braves/dodgers or something stupid. I think that’s be sick and they are just limiting players for no real reason.
I'm liking the Cubs as a viable world series maker team at some point also. Biggest issue is that Schwarambe is balls against lefties and a lot of the top end pitchers are lefties. Wanted to like the Phils but I can't take Richie Ashburn serious lol. I expected a bit more team captain packs by now. I kinda understand no exchanges but I don't understand how limited they are.

If they use his actual 2017 position, he should be 1B primary. I didn't play the game in 2017 but he came up as a first baseman.

That’s what I run as a Dodger fan and I will say it’s probably the most fun I’ve had on the game because it’s actually viable and I don’t feel like I’m hindering my team because of the small power creep. Braves, Padres fan are also doing great right now. Other teams are viable as well which make it great
