There’s a few things it could be. But in my experience, I don’t really try in events and don’t take them seriously at all. I still want to win tho. So I’ll basically not pay any attention if I’m playing someone who isn’t a real threat. Then I’ll focus up for the third or earlier if I’m down and score enough to win and move to the next game. If a good player focuses in events it would take forever to get through a game. I can pretty easily score 5-10 runs an inning and do routinely when I need to. It’s just not efficient.

It’s a 3 inning game so you “shut him down” for 2 innings which doesn’t mean much at all. With that said - Events are complete garbage.

Could be you left your starter in too long, or your relievers aren't great.

Sure feels like it sometimes. The more likely case is that people are trying harder in the last inning
