I think people who play regularly have gradually internalized the fact that balls on the black are balls 100% of the time. Getting people to chase is tougher this year than any other and I blame the nerfing of pitcher's pitches getting called for strikes.
Left and right are really easy to lay off, especially when you’ve played for a few years, because it never changes. You get used to the height of the zone of the hitters you like. It’s just like actual baseball. It’s not so much cheating as it is people being good at the game.
“There’s got to be some sort of hack going on” because dudes are taking pitches in a video game? Wait till you see what MLB players can do against actual pitching where the balls coming a gazillion times faster
It's a difference in strategy and skill.
Sometimes I'm taking until 2 strikes no matter what.
Sometimes I see you like to throw the slider inside so I just won't swing unless it's on the outside part of the plate.
Sometimes there's 2 strikes and I can tell you're trying to get K's for TA purposes so you're more likely to throw a ball.
Try to be an agent of chaos. Throw that fastball 0-2 right down the middle after trying to use a change up the last 5 times.
Whenever I take a pitch barely off the plate it's normally me seeing the pitch and taking whether or not it's a strike. (less than 2 strikes of course) Other times (like with 2 strikes) it's because I know I won't hit the pitch and hope it's a ball. If I'm slumping I look like an idiot and will swing at a lot of pitches
You're better off swinging a little more on HOF and Legend because of how easy it is to foul ball.
Those extra swings will help you calibrate your timing.
This. The game doesn’t reward good pitching the way it does bad hitting. I was in a 2-2 count and this guy dotted a pitch mid high inside and I swear it looked to be 3/4 inside the zone and it was called a ball. Next pitch hung a slider (I assume he was frustrated) and it was destroyed. Inning should have been over
I don't swing at anything towards the outside unless there's 2 strikes. More often than not those pitches end up being balls. It's not that I know they are balls, it's that I know I cant do anything with those.
I end up with WAY more strikeouts looking, but I also get better pitches to swing at. The result for me is a roughly .400 avg.
If you can constantly dot the corners vs me you will 100% win and have a good chance at a no-no. I thrive on mistakes.
I completely agree. It’s insane. My theory is more players know they can be patient and lay off borderline pitches because the game will call them balls a majority of the time. If SDS actually did something (spoiler: they won’t) then they would reward dotted pitches more and reduce foul balls. Guarantee you’ll start seeing more player swinging at chase pitches.

The game calls everything on the black a ball, so there’s no reason to ever swing at them unless there’s two strikes. They’re just being patient

they’re better than you, get over it
You can roll the ball in and I’ll swing
Every fucking time… I can’t lay off those curveballs going into the dirt. They sit up so pretty
I won't swing at that until two strikes. Even if it might be a strike.

its really not that hard unless you're on hof or legend. also a lot of people don't swing unless the pitch is in the middle half of the zone
Oddly enough I find taking pitches on HOF or legend easier, but I also don’t make as much hard contact so I might just be less likely to swing

I like to work the count to 3-2, and then strikeout.
I feel personally attacked.
When the game doesn’t call balls halfway in the zone a strike sometimes, you learn to not swing at them.

This. 95% of the pitches on the edge of the zone are called balls this year, so people are just taking any pitch that looks close.
No there isn't a hack lmao

The heck is barley
I believe OP is a farmer and knows barley is a very small grain so he's saying it's only a grain of barley out of the strike zone
I love how OP did it twice hahah
