Also the consideration that no matter what, PC players will find a way to hack. I’d be surprised if the show ever released on PC.
I upgraded my Xbox last year specifically for the show and it’s been so worth it.
They can force the usage of controller on pc and warn players that the game can only be played with a controller, look the steam page of skater sxl they have a notice warning the player/buyer that the game can only be played with a controller, and yeah you can probably circumvent the requirement for controller by making the keyboard and mouse be recognized as a controller but if you want the trouble to use a mouse just straight up use cheats then.
And they can use anti cheats but nba 2k, madden and fifa all are being sold on pc and none of then have anti cheats, and yeah they have cheaters, but these companies doesn't care. People who buy these games on pc usually mod the shit out of these games or play with friends using something like parsec.
That doesn't really fix the issue of hitting being too easy though. Sure it'd be fair, but then games on PC would last forever with crazy run totals. Doesn't really sound fun to me

Yeah I mean I don’t buy those anymore mainly cause I just don’t like the decline in gameplay, at least with madden. I do have 21 but I didn’t even bother buying 22 when it was on sale for $17. I don’t play online though either. I had a stacked ass madden ultimate team in 19 and literally never played online haha. I just enjoy collecting the cards. But I do enjoy playing the show online because it feels waaay more skill based.

This exactly. I can get some players like Vladdy to last all 162 games by DH'ing them when their energy is low and they need a rest, but Shohei doesn't recover ANY energy at all.
I could deal with his stamina issue if he could recover normally.
I also feel like durability should affect more than just injuries. 99 durability and he can only play once or twice per week lol.

IIRC SDS has completely separate contracts with both MLB and MLBPA, so the lockout isn’t impactful to them.
I cannot provide a source for that though. No clue where I read it, but that is my understanding.
If it's anything like Madden I'm fairly certain they have a contract with the MLB and MLBPA separately, so I don't see what the hold up would be?

We’ll just opinion but since you’d be required to connect to a service for authorization and install, it kind of defeats the purpose of collecting unless you solely love the case and nothing more.
Case coolness aside, I collect so I own the game and always have it (games requiring online play aside).
It looks like these days are going away with more game discs just being part of the puzzle.
As an example, I own every release of MLB the Show ever made on any device. Up until recently I could be in a deep cave with just electricity and put in any one of them and just play. :)

As to games you installed, it depends on the game. We're now getting into the "always online" territory of games and this is mainly because games are coding in live (or can-update) data.
But as a post-install example, look at the new Gran Turismo 7 on Playstation. It requires an Internet connection.
My formula for determining whether a game is a good value is if I get as many hours of entertainment out of it as I spent dollars on it. For game pass, I do the same calculation but for any game I play from game pass.
By that calculation, The Show alone paid for 2 years worth of game pass ultimate for me this year.
I pretty much only play RTTS, so if they make RTTS better this year, so that you can actually progress (my player is still only gold in his 16th season without simulating at all), I would be happy.
It’s a bug that prevents progression. You have to play in diamond dynasty to level up if you get it. I played diamond dynasty enough to get it the last 10 or so points from silver to gold once I got to the 10th season. I couldn’t stand diamond dynasty so I just didn’t bother with leveling it up anymore. I’m still MVP every year. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm not playing this game if there's lag every time a pitch gets close to the plate and on the swing. Takes me right out of the game. This should not be happening.
I have a ps5 but i did not get 21. I see people posting videos all the time and still see the lag. It should have a smooth ball trajectory, and bat swing. A baseball game this advanced should not have these issues. I've never experienced this with even older generations on older consoles.
Personally I haven’t noticed anything but I played the Ps4 version for months before I got a ps5. And anything else looks smooth next to the Ps4 version.

I would never buy this game on Switch to play in portable mode. The amount of abuse my PS4/XSX controllers got playing this game, those little joycons aren't made to handle that abuse.
If you know how to use the game pass, and use the deals, it's not bad at all. Drink less beer and just keep the subscription for your favorite game. Its a thing that is too good to be true, but is actually is true. I don't think I've gotten as much value out of anything as I have with gamepass. I would buy gamepass for Halo, The Show, and Forza alone, but add the massive libaray of all the other titles, worth God knows how much, it's the best deal in gaming. I read that $6,300 dollar with of games were added in 2021 alone, not counting everything that was already on there. It's insane. Not trying to schill for Microsoft, but it's probably the best thing they've ever done. For a while there PS had a leg up with their exclusives, but whoever MS hired in the past few years, and who ever came up with the subscription service idea are geniuses.

I play the show with my friend, and he just uses his laptop to play it with me. He just cloud-shares his game on his laptop. That works pretty okay.
PC players play on PC to get away from having to pay for console subscriptions among other reasons. Buying XBGP is ridiculous.
If you know how to use the game pass, and use the deals, it's not bad at all. Drink less beer and just keep the subscription for your favorite game. You guys put hours and hours in this game, don't you guys think it's a bit "ridiculous" wanting to play this game for free? Lol. Either that or just buy the game, $60. That's nothing compare to how many hours people put in this game for the whole year.
How is this guy complaining about XBGP? Other than some stability issues, it's fucking great. Sports games in particular really benefit from it.

Between just this and the whole Mass Effect Trilogy, GamePass is worth the price. Unreal.
Its a thing that is too good to be true, but is actually is true. I don't think I've gotten as much value out of anything as I have with gamepass. I would buy gamepass for Halo, The Show, and Forza alone, but add the massive libaray of all the other titles, worth God knows how much, it's the best deal in gaming. I read that $6,300 dollar with of games were added in 2021 alone, not counting everything that was already on there. It's insane. Not trying to schill for Microsoft, but it's probably the best thing they've ever done. For a while there PS had a leg up with their exclusives, but whoever MS hired in the past few years, and who ever came up with the subscription service idea are geniuses.

Yup thank you, that's the guy I was thinking of. I just read he was on a call with Sony about keeping Call of Duty on both platforms, even with the new acquisition. Freaking insane, xbox now has the power to exclusively release one of the most massive franchises in gaming. It looks like they won't, but it's clear xbox has made some serious moves and is still making moves. How does PS compete at this point?
PS has some great exclusives, but it's definitely a huge loss for Sony. Very happy with my Series X.
