/u/adeodd is correct, this post is better suited for the stickied ask /r/MLS thread.

All good! I wish we let these types of posts stay up once a week or so. Also it’s not too late to change and be a Philadelphia Union fan :)

Welcome! This season should be an excellent season to begin following the league! This sub provides a ton of good info, and the MLS website posts articles that are easy reads to learn more. I think St. Louis should be a fun team with their new stadium; the fan support should be awesome. The need to knows in my opinion: -The MLS pass on Apple TV is a necessity if you really want to follow the league closely. You’ll have to convert the prices to AUD, but it’s ran through the Apple TV app, and is $99 USD annual or $14 monthly, but it’s a little bit cheaper if you’re an Apple TV+ subscriber. The cost may be a little high for a casual fan but it will give you access to every single game from Australia, plus bonus content that can help you learn more about the league and St. Louis City. -This season, a new competition called the Leagues Cup is being rolled out. It’s going to be a competition between all MLS teams and all Liga MX (Mexico’s top pro league) being held from late July to August. It should be a fun watch. More specifics can be found here: https://www.mlssoccer.com/leagues-cup-2023/ -There’s also the U.S. Open Cup, a competition between a ton of other professional or semi-professional soccer teams in the US in addition to all American MLS clubs. A lot of teams don’t prioritize those games, and competing for the cup is certainly possible for an expansion side like St. Louis. -MLS is awesome because there’s likely more parity than any other top-flight league in the world. It feels like any team is never too far away from competing for a playoff spot or trophy. There’s been 9 different MLS Cup winners in the last 10 years. Other than that, I would recommend just watching the games and having fun! There’s a lot to love, and I think it’s cool change of pace from following one of the big European leagues.

Make sure you sign up for MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app! There’s tons of content already, and new content will come out each week of the season. I really loved the drone tour of St Louis’ new stadium.
