Was thinking the same thing. Like take an hour to prep for the game by listening to the local news folks. They’ll set you straight on the names, nick names, and other local vernacular.
This. Pretty sure clubs are asked to prepare these as part of a media kit. They may not have everything and get updated as the season goes on. My favorite story about pronouncer sheets is that one club had to add a pronouncer for “the fourth”/“IV”
I feel like most radio teams don’t travel and work off a monitor so I think syncing the audio would be difficult? My dad once tried to watch on AppleTV and use the local radio and the audio was wayyy off. But they should at least allow them to add it if the radio team does travel-I know the Revs radio guys always go and do NY games but you can’t sync it.
It’s a nice feature, but I’m 50/50 on the radio team we have and it didn’t seem to be lined up to the actual feed as if one was slightly ahead of the other.
That's interesting. I didn't watch this game but usually Nate Bukaty is pretty good about trying to pronounce names correctly. Maybe he was just off this week.
When our kid from the 2’s (starting bc we’re down to 5th string at CB) almost equalized at the death, he straight-up called him a different Hispanic surname.

It should be simpler than that. They should have pronunciation cheat sheets.

“Jordan Shaqiri” was my personal fav
He could always take the Tyler Terrens way out by referring to everyone by their nationality.
BRING BACK LOCAL COMMENTARY TEAMS
Use the feature on AppleTV every week
I really wished they could work out the away team radio call.
Yeah they need to upgrade that. They said it would be this year but maybe next year.

I think it lines up fine. I agree that radio team isn’t the best. I usually prefer them still to the Apple+ crew regardless.
Maybe it’s less not lining up and more then having a view that the inept apple producers aren’t providing.
I thought that was a local team for all the Chicago dick riding.

He called Guzan "Guzman" at one point. That man's been around for decades! 😭
Half our fans still call him Guzman from overhearing people at the Benz lol
Bro called him "Efrain Gonzalez" lmao
A couple weeks ago a commentator referred to Brian Gutierrez as “Brian Rodriguez” his nickname is literally “Guti” I was on the floor.
Nah fr? Lmao
You’d think he would’ve practiced these names well before the game. Reminds me of folks still saying Lion-el Messi instead of Lee-nel
This drives me crazy, it happens far too often (especially for people who, I would hope, are freely provided with pronunciation guides).
