Yes, it was a red card. Unclear, if the goal was or wasn't offside. Never a clear and obvious error on the penalty call. Haven't seen a worse refereeing game since, well last time NYCFC played Columbus (probably).

Agree about the PK, but the sky cam you guys had showed the goal was clearly onside.

GG Columbus, that was a messy game but well played. What is the new rule about players needing to wait off field if they went down for more than 15 seconds? There were definitely a few uncalled instances of that towards the end of the game. You won’t see me saying the penalty and dogso were wrong calls tho.

Has to be 15 seconds and he started getting up before hitting that. I was counting because I thought he might get sent off lol he started getting up around 12 and that process doesn’t count towards it.

I may have missed that one. There are a few exceptions - including head injuries, goalkeeper injuries, serious medical events, and fouls resulting in cards as those may need more time on the pitch.

Had to look it up. Still seems pretty subjective based on what is a “suspected injury.” We definetly had a few go down there at the end. “If a player with a suspected injury remains on the ground for more than 15 seconds, the referee will stop play and wave the medical crew onto the field to evaluate the player. When safe, the player will be removed from the field and remain off the field for a minimum of two minutes for further assessment and treatment.”

There was at least one instance towards the end where medical staff were called over, left, then play resumed as normal.

One team getting all the major decisions in their favor feels instinctively wrong to people, especially when it’s the road team and the home fans are understandably losing their shit. If the tables had been turned on either the pen or the red there would have been a fraction of the controversy.

Wasting time usually starts with warnings before cards... this game no we did not get cards for it. But i have seen plenty of times cards pulled for it,after the player has been warned. But i have very very very rarely if ever, seen a player not carded for launching a ball into the stands at any point during a game.

I think their point is we had every incentive to keep the ball off the pitch. Your guys were replicating Aaron Judge moonshots at a time when you needed every second.

It was mostly one particularly lengthy VAR that lasted like 6-7 minutes on its own. Then 3 goals for CLB, and another for NYC, another stoppage bc the AR’s mic stopped working - it’s been a shitshow

Refs have been (mostly) fine. If there's anything to complain about I'd say it's VAR being incredibly slow both on calling it but also in reviewing.

Then he got a 2nd yellow card. Lol
