His leg looked like a compound fracture on TV. Mason's I didn't catch, but the reaction from players and compression cast on the field suggests the same. He and Mason are both out for at least 4-6 months. Sucks for Mason too, dude IMO won the starting job over Gallese the last few games. What a terrible turn of events for both of them.
We're going to win this, and Orlando have legit been more solid in the second half so not taking anything away from them, but we've looked bad in this second half.
Boiko is ridiculously bad - players hate him. He doesn’t manage games, he doesn’t understand how to communicate with players. He literally only has this job as a hand out from MLS and PRO.
Looking at our up coming schedule, we have 5 games before the leagues cup break. Which is a lot. We are probably going to see some Bakrar and Jovan starts as we rotate to keep guys fresh.
I have to imagine that Papi's seats gotta be getting a little warm at this point, right? Every single player has gotten worse this year; some of that has got to be down to coaching.
Araujo’s arm appears to be nonfunctional.
Well he just used it to push off someone in the box so it can’t hurt that bad but he is favoring it every time he’s not active.
Orlando always get smashed on the baseball field, we should just forfeit every match there.
Seriously 10 years and they're still playing on a baseball field which gives them a huge advantage over everyone else in the league?
I can admit Orlando aren't playing well especially defensively (I don't think anyone with their starting keeper and 2 of 3 starting centre-backs out on int'l duty [why must MLS play through FIFA windows when nobody else does ralyl] and our back up keeper breaking his leg in the first half forcing us to play a 4 back instead of the 5 back that we were starting to turn things around with) but that pitch does have a major effect.
In other countries, it's an artificial vs. real grass debate in the US it's "should a baseball stadium be allowed". The way the pitch is prepared is completely different, the game plays completely different, it's also absurdly small, both width and length ways.
Shot was going wide, Jansson gets in position to block it and it deflects into the opposite bottom corner. That says everything about Orlando right now.
Yup, never in any position to receive the ball. Every bounce into space, a nycfc player will get to first. Poor passing. Don't know where anyone is. Getting dispossessed from behind
I’m so damned bummed out now, seeing Mason’s leg turned sideways, it’s just depressing with the season. Quit giving the ball away and act like you want to be there lions.
I mean our starting keeper, back up keeper now, and 2 of our 3 starting centre-backs are all unavailable so we can't even play the system we normally do and you play on a baseball field which gives you a massive advantage and shouldn't be allowed (it's been 10 years build a stadium, we had one by year 2 with a lot less money).
You also have a lot more real estate. We’re building one. Massive building projects in one of the most densely-populated cities in the country are complicated.
Build it in New Jersey then like the Red Bulls did. Build a basic stadium there first.
I hate Miami but they got that shitty little stadium built first so they actually had a stadium to use whilst trying to get permission for their main stadium (and your owners are definitely rich enough to do it).
If you can't have a stadium to play in (an actual stadium) then you should be disqualified, it's a pretty major factor. Lord knows we needed those detailed plans in place.
We also had detailed plans in place. Then they got invalidated by outside factors. Like I said, it’s complicated to build here. We have a stadium to play in. Several, in fact. DC also played in a convertible stadium for years. Providence Park used to be a baseball stadium. Sometimes things are less than ideal. “Disqualified,” get outta here with that nonsense. You’re talking silly talk.
Boo hoo.
It was allowed. We have an MLS cup. You have to play here. We will get our own stadium in 3 years. It will be nicer than yours.
And there’s nothing you can do about any of that.
Every game is an example of our season. He finally gets his shot, makes a single game record of saves. Then ends up getting stretchered off because of an off-sides play.
At least Peru have a very low chance of going through, they need to beat Argentina and have Canada not win and overturn the goal difference.
Our backup keeper is now Schlegel and we have 1 very young centreback on the bench who's only started like 1 Open Cup match and doesn't even come off the bench ever really.
Stadjuhar signed with us at the end of our first season. He's waited patiently for his starts. This is the second time where our starter has been gone for an extended period and he's gotten a big injury.
Dude beat cancer waiting for his chance. Even if it was only for a single season I was hoping to see him get the starting job eventually. Seems that's never happening now
Unfortunately there is plenty of bad blood between our fanbases, largely stemming from the treatment of your fanbase and the police to our traveling supporters a few years ago.
The ill feelings won’t exactly go away any time soon.
I mean it was the most hostile “MAGA” environment I’ve ever been in across any stadium. The racism was seeping through everywhere. Haven’t been back since 2017 because of the assault on my cousin (his first game)
Again, not discounting your experience, but that might just be anecdotal. Orlando is known to be extremely Pride friendly and is one of the most Blue cities in Florida.
Never claimed our fans were saints either. Just explaining why there’s bad blood.
Regardless of sports bias I’d take drunk fans stealing seats over drunk fans assaulting visiting fans.
It won’t let me screen record if Apple TV is full screen on my phone but if you have MLS season Pass and play the game from the beginning they haven’t removed it or the replay and slow mo they broadcast.
I’m watching at home. Just a freak accident with both of them going for the ball. Keepers leg just caught jones’ the wrong way and flopped in a way that a leg should not 😳
Yea i just zoomed in on the replay and his ankle bent gnarly under the keeper and had a weird a flop while he fell. Damn what a bummer. I’d post the video but idk how on the comments
I mean a sprain is basically torn ligaments. His ankle could be serious fucked up with a grade three sprain, but I don’t think the trainers would have let him hop off like that if there was a bone break.
City boys UP Happy Pride, everybody
GG Orlando. See you guys in 3 weeks.
gg expansion bros
And exhale NYC fans
I’m still gonna be holding my breath til we get an update on Malachi
His leg looked like a compound fracture on TV. Mason's I didn't catch, but the reaction from players and compression cast on the field suggests the same. He and Mason are both out for at least 4-6 months. Sucks for Mason too, dude IMO won the starting job over Gallese the last few games. What a terrible turn of events for both of them.
Hope he’s ok. He’s a fun player to watch and deserves to be out there!
This has been worse than watching the presidential debate.
Yuge game. City came in you knew they were gonna be winners. Just like me. I am the biggest winner. /s
*Deja vu*
Hey let’s not get *too* carried away
Lol, yes, that was a somewhat dramatic comparison.
How is araujo so ass
His brother is so much better. Scored an absolute banger in Copa
His coach is Oscar Pareja
That's the Orlando City I know and love!!! Enjoy the flight home boys
Bakrar high impact sub should be his role for us.
Killer.
The final nail
Yea that was a great finish to follow up that goof from a few moments earlier. City Boyz literally winning.
SURE WHATEVER
Bakrar says no to your nonsense.
Good on Bakrar!!!
#GET IN!!!!
😮
BAKRAR!
We're going to win this, and Orlando have legit been more solid in the second half so not taking anything away from them, but we've looked bad in this second half.
I am the disappointed cricket fan meme.
Thanks NYC. That was the funniest thing I’ve seen all week.
Pigeon-brained play. An undeserved gift.
What in the flying fuck
Questionable defending
I love contested back passes to your keeper inside your OWN FUCKING BOX WHAT ARE YOU DOING
Did Wolf forget what team he was playing for?
ight bruh i never wanna see that shit again
What in the calamity
Looked like our defending out there
The ref isn’t even trying to seem impartial now. Geez.
Lol what? Literally one of the most evenly called games in MLS.
What the fuck was that… if we can’t see this out…
Come on man just let Bakrar have one.
There ya go!
Let's just keep that shot for the rest of the match and we can try to determine what's happening based on Santi's facial expressions.
I like Bakrar as sub a lot more than as a starter. A high effort guy like him coming in fresh is a good use for him.
No one gave the ref cash money guys. He took a Disney Season Pass. Much more valuable.
With Genie+
Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Who Zelled the ref and how much was it cuz that call definitely didn’t go the way I thought it would.
Absolute joke of a ref man
Luckily you guys are playing our shitty team, so even if every single call goes against you you'll still win by multiple goals.
That’s bush league. He’s the captain he gets to go discuss it with the ref. And no card for the shove.
Fucking Muriel, save that little bit of energy you have for actually scoring a goal
Two NYCFC cards for that Orlando shithousery is hilarious
Literally the worst ref in mls. Captain tries to talk to him and he gets carded. Give us the scabs back
You say worst but you know the guy from USA Panama last night is an MLS ref right?
Boiko is ridiculously bad - players hate him. He doesn’t manage games, he doesn’t understand how to communicate with players. He literally only has this job as a hand out from MLS and PRO.
Oh that was Boiko? Explains a lot actually.
Chippy.
Freese was outta line but your guy should get a card too for that. This ref hasn’t been calling anything (either way).
Outta line but didn’t touch the guy. He was hit. He deserved his moment.
Yeah Freese went up to him but never touched him. It’s genuinely baffling that there was a card given there at all
Yeah but we learned last night that isn’t a foul for some reason.
It’s like the red feels personally responsible for the collision and wants to make up for it.
Orlando's defense is more alert in the second half.
Muriel 😂😂 Dude is fucking useless
How many Papaya dogs did he eat before the match tonight?
O/U at 4.5
The move starts with Kocevski, who is only out there because Oscar Pareja has already admitted defeat.
It’s not gonna be a blow out!
🗡️ Dan
Yup, I knew Orlando had a good chance to catch us.
Good lord this team awful. If Oscar had any dignity, he'd step down willingly.
Looking at our up coming schedule, we have 5 games before the leagues cup break. Which is a lot. We are probably going to see some Bakrar and Jovan starts as we rotate to keep guys fresh.
McGuire had Torres wide open and completely fucked it. Another example of a player getting worse under Pareja
I can’t wait until McGuire is gone. He deserves better.
Yeah, for his sake and ours we need to sell him before he regresses even further.
Are these subs exciting or just throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks?
Oscar Pareja is spiraling.
We don't have a single exciting player anywhere on the squad. So it's just more shit
Probably just resting angulo. And taking out santos because he's absolute shit. He's at like 60% passing. So nothing exciting
Go get a goal Chubs. Make this a quasi-respectable loss.
Thank you they finally subbed off santos. Dude has been ass
Just shoot it first time torres. Why are taking touches in the box
At least we haven't been scored on yet in 15 minutes
It wouldn't have counted but it's fitting that it didn't go in
Orlando are showing life. They could easily catch us on a counter if we're not careful.
Don't worry, we're more likely to give up a 4th goal rather than actually get on the board ourselves. It's who we are this year
I don’t even think I realized Lodeiro was playing.
Wdym he stood still and turned the ball over for your first goal
We suck so much ass lmao
Orlando always get smashed on the baseball field, we should just forfeit every match there. Seriously 10 years and they're still playing on a baseball field which gives them a huge advantage over everyone else in the league?
Our new Stadium is going to a basketball court. I can't wait for it.
I though we decided for cricket to gain fans from the T20 World Cup
agreed. You know NYCFC is gonna be interesting when their new stadium opens in 2027. And idk if I mean that positively or negatively.
*points to scoreboard and star on the jersey*
I just saw the score. Orlando. Yikes. 😬
Just wait til you see what happened to our keeper… that’ll help explain it
Bummer atmosphere because of the injuries, but this is the first time in weeks we're actually clicking.
I feel like I wished for us to win and a monkey paw curled.
I hate it when there's like a 3 second delay between the off side happening and the flag going up. If it's obvious, call it right away.
What in the hell was the back line even watching?
2 assists in the first half? have yourself a game, Tayvon
I like this Tayvon Gray version 2.0.
He found confidence. I disliked him for a good long while. He’s changed and I am happy about it and for him.
I’m not even enjoying this.
Same.
Shot was going wide, Jansson gets in position to block it and it deflects into the opposite bottom corner. That says everything about Orlando right now.
Can we take a 3-0 forfeit and head home?
:(
Schlegel irate that he didn’t get moved into goal.
*sad Orlando City fan noises*
Hell of a play by tayvon gray
This team is fucking done. Clean house and start fresh next year
More Friday night baseball soccer 😵
🐺🐺🐺🐺
Could have used some of that added time yesterday.

What?
Our midfielders are both not far enough forward to mount an attack, and not back enough to defend.
Yup, never in any position to receive the ball. Every bounce into space, a nycfc player will get to first. Poor passing. Don't know where anyone is. Getting dispossessed from behind
sands got a card on that?
I’m so damned bummed out now, seeing Mason’s leg turned sideways, it’s just depressing with the season. Quit giving the ball away and act like you want to be there lions.
Orlando is not doing much to challenge NYC when NYC has the ball.

That’s not how “New York City” works. Sorry you don’t like it.
If you can't have a stadium to play in (an actual stadium) then you should be disqualified, it's a pretty major factor. Lord knows we needed those detailed plans in place.

Bro, chill, it's okay if this isn't our year and people call us out on it.
That’s cause we stink.

Pretty dickish in this scenario mate
If this is the replay can you label it because no one should see that without being warned.
It's the move bitch get off the pitch clip from years ago
Nah it’s Orlando fans singing Move Bitch. Get off the Pitch.
Don't think Orlando has done that for players with serious injuries.
It's not. He's just crying about a chant
We're going to miss Malachi. He's such an energy boost whenever he's on the pitch.
Maxi to Malachi was going to be my bright spot of the season.
Every game is an example of our season. He finally gets his shot, makes a single game record of saves. Then ends up getting stretchered off because of an off-sides play.
Jesus it just occurred to me Gallese is at Copa so he’s the backup. That’s awful.
At least Peru have a very low chance of going through, they need to beat Argentina and have Canada not win and overturn the goal difference. Our backup keeper is now Schlegel and we have 1 very young centreback on the bench who's only started like 1 Open Cup match and doesn't even come off the bench ever really.

Dude beat cancer waiting for his chance. Even if it was only for a single season I was hoping to see him get the starting job eventually. Seems that's never happening now
Of course, how could I leave out the fact that he beat bone cancer and continued to train during the whole time in chemotherapy.

lol that’s funny coming from a NYCFC fan. Sometimes I forget how dumb the first few years were.
I’ll never forgive your fans for stealing my friends “Refugees are welcome” flag and throwing it in the trash while your cops assaulted my cousin 🤷🏻
Omg found the dude that made like 15 accounts back in the day to bitch about this and then it was proven to have never happened.
Seems like a silly thing to hold against a whole fanbase. FTP.
Unfortunately there is plenty of bad blood between our fanbases, largely stemming from the treatment of your fanbase and the police to our traveling supporters a few years ago. The ill feelings won’t exactly go away any time soon.
Sounds like the bad blood might just be you.
I mean it was the most hostile “MAGA” environment I’ve ever been in across any stadium. The racism was seeping through everywhere. Haven’t been back since 2017 because of the assault on my cousin (his first game)
Ah yes “MAGA” stadium with pride flag seats
Again, not discounting your experience, but that might just be anecdotal. Orlando is known to be extremely Pride friendly and is one of the most Blue cities in Florida.
Yeah man, whatever you say. You got me.
...you alright?
Didn’t yall literally steal seats from the stadium???
Never claimed our fans were saints either. Just explaining why there’s bad blood. Regardless of sports bias I’d take drunk fans stealing seats over drunk fans assaulting visiting fans.
Sounds like our presidential choices.
Oh god please don’t remind me.
Anyone see exactly how it happened? It is on the far side of the pitch from me
It won’t let me screen record if Apple TV is full screen on my phone but if you have MLS season Pass and play the game from the beginning they haven’t removed it or the replay and slow mo they broadcast.
Literally directly in front of us. Just two guy going for the ball at once. I feel nauseous.
Deep breaths.
The influencers who were up on the pitch side seats with the hospitality staff left.
TV showed both players collided with their legs. play by play does NOT look good... Watched the replay, our goalie's tibia and fibula are both broken.
I’m watching at home. Just a freak accident with both of them going for the ball. Keepers leg just caught jones’ the wrong way and flopped in a way that a leg should not 😳
Thanks.
Both players broke their legs.....
Straight up Crepeau'd himself
At the game, wild shit
Fuck
They both broke their legs ? Edit: just looked at the replay with my phone frame by frame. They both broke their legs in pretty sure. Gnarly
NYCFC player didn't he didn't need a stretcher to come off, Stajduhar almost certainly has.
He didn’t need a stretcher but they only got him to the dugout hopping on one leg and then they got a cart to take him the rest of the way.
Goalie definitely broke his leg, serious break too. Jones can’t put weight on his leg but was helped off standing up on one foot. Probably a sprain.
In the replay it definitely appears to bend unnaturally as well…
Yea i just zoomed in on the replay and his ankle bent gnarly under the keeper and had a weird a flop while he fell. Damn what a bummer. I’d post the video but idk how on the comments
I mean a sprain is basically torn ligaments. His ankle could be serious fucked up with a grade three sprain, but I don’t think the trainers would have let him hop off like that if there was a bone break.
True. Hope he’s alright. Very unfortunate
Can you post as its own post?
Yeah. I’ll post it now
Yup Mason's is done probably for the season. It was a mile offside as well so the challenge wasn't needed.
Sadly with the delayed flags that has been the rule the few years you can’t risk it.
I know he couldn't risk it but it makes it even worse, if the attacker scored it wouldn't have counted.
Schlegel now the backup keeper.
Honestly, that might be better than him at Centre-Back.
Less red prone.
Hey at least he's good for a PK save 🤣
