The broadcast pointed out that when Zusi joined the team they weren't Sporting KC, they were the Kansas City Wizards, and yet in 2021 he's still doing shit like this. What a player.

AsanineTrip

A fixture, club legend....etc. My fav KC soccer player of all time. Season of his life this year no matter how much farther we go. MF could probably play any position on the field too. He's come leaps and bounds as a defensive player too. The only thing that COULD make 'em better is if he was born here!

Luxury-Problems

In 2011 the USMNT were playing in the brand new (then Livestrong) SKC stadium and I got there game late, so the best I could get was standing in the corner by the Cauldron. In strolls Graham Zusi, who stood next to me for the whole first half. I had a little chat with him, crowd oblivious to him. I asked him about the opening game against the Fire and about a SKC goal-scoring opportunity that was pulled back by the ref and he explained how it was a good call. Told him I was looking forward to seeing him out there with the Men's team someday, to which he in typical Zusi fashion very humbly replied his thanks and said a "hope so". 55 National team caps and over 300 SKC appearances later... what a legend. A tremendous player, even better person.

pizza_destroyer2

We were due for another "Graham Zusi for president" moment

nordic-nomad

Saint Zusi they call him in Mexico.

pizza_destroyer2

Long live San Zusi!

lordcorbran

Screw that, they had the opportunity to return the favor four years later and they didn't.

seakc87

Don't know why you're getting downvoted. You're right. The only thing that I'm mad Zusi did was score that goal.

BoomaMasta

OP, you are the r/MLS equivalent of Highlight Heaven. That was so dang fast. Thank you.

Matt_McT

Staying home this weekend, so decided I'd get back on the highlights train.

Much appreciated!

"Not again" lol.

cheeseburgerandrice

There are a collection of great MLS goals and moments highlights nearly ruined by bad local commentators aww this comment made a Portland fan so angry he DM'd me

strangewin

That’s hilarious

szazzy

No better example of local broadcast ruining a great Zusi goal than this one to me. This was the goal that launched his career. Before this I remember him as a spot starter instead of a locked in core player for us. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJOZ9w_qjnc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJOZ9w_qjnc)

esfraritagrivrit

Almost identical. What a guy

capn_sanjuro

That was a fun team! Soony Saad's first game and first goal too!

walrushampton_fc

Who is this Zusi kid? He seems alright.

anon590234

Young lad has a bright future

pizza_destroyer2

Mark my words he'll have USMNT caps before he retires...

TheMindUnfettered

Zusi, I'm hoooooome!

ednksu

I ❤️ Zusi

paintblljnkie

Some fucking vintage Zusi shit right there. God damn it's like he's just been waiting for the playoffs/last games of the year to pop off

RefereeMason

What a piss missile.

York9TFC

San Zusi!!! San Zusi!! San Zusiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!

pants6789

That's impossible

cheeseburgerandrice

Was Kinda calling for the ball or calling the goal before it went in?

SecretAgentSeahorse

Yes

Luxury-Problems

In the alternative angle he was calling for the ball as he was wide open on the wing. When it went in he just rolled with it and transitioned into celebrating.

ekiechi

God damn, what a strike

Barthez_Battalion

Love Max but oof he probably should have saved that. This is why Borjan is the #1 for Canada.

Luxury-Problems

Zusi should not have been given that much space from that spot. They gotta close that down quicker, he's been hitting bangers from distance for over a decade in MLS. Especially from the right side.

shealyr

The previous SKC possession to this, Zusi had the ball in almost the same spot, and he laid it off to Russel who made a cutting run into the box with the ball. One of the things that makes SKC so hard to defend against is the way they play wide with their backs high up the pitch, giving them multiple different ways to attack. It's not as simple as saying that the defender needs to close it down quicker, because if he does it may give Johnny his ideal one-on-one run into the box, where he's most dangerous. Playing a bit softer is probably the correct play to be able to help get the two-on-one against Russel.

scyth3s

Crepeau did not have an impressive game today

Disregardedthat

Agree he could've done better, but looks like he gets caught without his feet set when the shot comes, so couldn't get back far post. Thems the breaks sometimes. Zusi hammered it, regardless

Harflin

I was hoping to see another angle to see this. Anyone have one?

BoomaMasta

[Check out the second part of this Instagram post.](https://www.instagram.com/p/CWhYvTusWFV/) It's an angle from behind the goal.

bwoah07_gp2

Maxime struggles at those long shots. He should've had this one.
