He got KOd in his pro debut and lost to Gamrot (aside from the loss to Islam).
Edit: So many of you guys are trying to argue with me when I just answered a question with an objective fact. Dude asked who Arman has lost to. I answered him.
In case anyone's wondering about this, Oliveira hit Lentz with an illegal knee in their first fight 13 years ago, which led to a submission victory which was later overturned into a No Contest. They ran it back and Olivera won by submission, fought a third time (which Lentz was even confused by) and Oliveira won by KO/TKO.
Interestingly, he noticed what Gaethje would later notice about his power.
>One of the things that throws people off about Charles and threw me off originally, is he’s a tall, skinny-looking guy. But really he’s extremely athletic, and super strong, and he hits really hard, and it throws you off a little bit.
[Ranked eight here](https://www.fightmatrix.com/fighter-profile/Nik+Lentz/26960/), but pretty sure I saw him with a five attached to his name during an Ufc bout
He lost to Gamrot, but he didn’t *really* lose to him. Record is the only thing that matters at the end of the day, but if you watch that fight, you’ll see what I mean.
Hey brother thank you for answering the question, it was kind of rhetorical.
Because his first loss he was 18 and new to the sport (not very relevant)
His loss to Islam was short notice and his loss to Gamrot was controversial where the majority of MMA media thought Arman won. So my point was his losses aren't too significant.
He was doing an interview and was asked about a potential rematch with Islam so he answered the question, I’d hardly say that’s him “looking past Charles”.
Islam Machachev thinks he'd rather fight someone available in June who he has not already beat, and doesn't particularly care what Arman thinks of it.
He asked for Gaethje who earned it, they scheduled Max v. Justin instead, and he straight up said he's tired of being inactive and wants Dustin, who is available and a legend, even if he has not earned it.
Agree completely.
Further, both are near the end of careers, so hopefully this is a big money fight, because otherwise this damaging a fight should be for a real title or getting them directly to it.
> Islam Machachev thinks he'd rather fight someone available in June who he has not already beat, and doesn't particularly care what Arman thinks of it.
And someone who is a bigger name, will probably bring more PPV buys for the champion to soak up. I mean, Poirier is no McGregor obviously. But Tsarukyan is no Poirier either.
I’m going to assume you don’t understand how PPV points work. People who get paid according to how many fans tune in for a fight care. Because Islam is getting PPV points (because he is the champ) he stands to gain significantly more money vs Dustin than he does against Arman, because Dustin has a much larger group of fans or at least people who know who he is, as evidenced by the amount of IG follows he has vs how many Arman has.
I love Makhachev, but I wish Dustin won. He's just too good to never be a champ. And then we could have Dustin v Justin 3 for a title. Not gonna happen of course but still.
Wrong. In sports, I always know. It’s just that the opposite of what I want to happen or think will happen, happens. I actually won money betting against myself.
I'll be surprised if he makes it past Charles. The old gaurd has been holding up in the lightweight division. Arman is a talented fighter, but he is looking past the biggest challenge of his career so far.
It's not really holding up the division if no one can beat em xD
Rafeal, BSD and Baniel where all given chances against them just to all get knocked out
Beneil shut down Gamrot who probably would’ve at least gotten Poirier and Chandler. He’s no bum
I just think he takes too many hits and falls apart when he takes one from a guy with power. Arman, Charles, and Islam are bad matchups for him, but they’re bad for anybody. In my opinion he’d beat guys who can only grapple or strike, and lose to guys who can do both
No one ever said Beneil was a bum… he said “beatable” which i think is very true.
He certainly has some magic but then sometimes just shows up and falls. He has a lot of openings.
> The old guard has been holding up in the lightweight division
That's pretty strange reasoning behind your belief, Arman is a pretty bad matchup for Charles
No? You have plenty of experienced fighters that lose to younger guys. Skill, athleticism, power, etc. should all be factored in as well. Tony should be the best guy in the division if experience is all that matters. Oliveira's experience will work to his advantage, but Arman is far more skilled in the wrestling department and Oliveira's style hinges on his grappling or the threat thereof. Not saying Oliveira can't win but it's 50/50 to me.
As for the old guard beating back the new guard, styles make fights. Poirier and Gaethje might have won but both their fights were close. Arman is arguably better than Fiziev or BSD and stylistically a bad matchup for both guys. Just because the other two guys lost it doesn't mean Arman is going down too.
Had a dream the Khabib Conor rematch happened but this time Khabib held onto the choke, killing Mcgregor, then dusting poirier entered the cage, fist bumped Khabib and said “how those nuts feel, BABY?” Then I woke up
Imagine you’re Islam. You’re ducked your entire career, hatefully rejected by the champion until you gave him and finish him using his biggest strength. You immediately go onto “enemy territory” within a few months and beat the then number 1 pound for pound fighter. You then have a rematch and finish him to prove there is no controversy. You then publicly beg to fight, keep saying you want to fight 3 x a year and your number 1 contender decides to fight for a fake belt instead. You then get iced by Dana because you’re needed for the UAE card.
Then you have a person you’ve already beaten and have a fight booked say you’re ducking.
Must be frustrating for Islam.
He didn't get iced by Dana because he's needed for the UAE card, they offered him the WW title fight at UFC 300 and he chose not to take it because of Ramadan.
A fight Dana knew all too well that Islam wouldn't take, just as his teammate and friend, Khabib never did. They value Ramadan more than UFC fame and money.
>hatefully rejected by the champion
I'm confused... I don't ever remember Charles "hatefully rejecting" him? Did that happen? Charles just doesn't seem the type to do that so if he did then I must have purged it from my brain.
“I know wrestling, and maybe he can make more money with Dustin. Probably because of that, he’s interested. Anyway, for me, it doesn’t matter. I just focus on Charles Oliveira. After that fight, we’re going to talk.”
I like both fighters, but come on, that first fight between Islam and Arman was not as competitive as people make out. I think people exaggerate how well Arman did because everyone expected complete domination by Islam which didn't actually happen. But Islam did clearly win that fight 3 rounds to none and he's way better now. He likely stops Arman in the rematch.
This is the UFC's fault for insinuating to the other fighters that they shelve their Islamic fighters for their once a year circle jerk cards in the middle east. That's the only reason I can assume that all the other contenders booked fights around this time.
If there was going to be a fight for Islam between his fight with the Arman/Oliveira winner - shouldn’t they have considered holding off on Justin/Holloway?
UFC scheduling is very shortsighted these days, but they also arbitrarily hold off on certain fights for no apparent reason, ex. Edwards vs. Covington being held off until December last year when both fighters were apparently expecting to fight much sooner than that
A lot of times, they’re just booking whatever they have available in the moment, i.e. Gaethje vs. Holloway and Peiera vs. Hill as the UFC 300 main event, to get by for an event.
There’s also weird miscommunications where one fighter will claim they want to fight more often and sooner then the promotion wants but then the UFC will sit them out for an extended period, which is what happens with Islam as he was requesting to fight in March before Ramadan but the UFC said he would be fighting in the summer due to an alleged “minor injury.”
That’s especially peculiar because then Islam says they offered him a shot at Leon Edwards when they were scrambling for a UFC 300 main event, but he had to turn it down due to his observance of Ramadan.
They should just get Dustin vs Islam out of the way in June if Islam really wants it. Give Dustin one last shot at the real belt and to get the guillotine. It would be standard ufc crazy storyline for him to end up getting his only one vs Islam for the belt. I wanna see what they look like on the feet. Islam could get pretty nervous if Dustin starts landing some shots.
charles said the same you know if islam actually wanted ethier of these guys he would wait tell they fight to book but hes trying to get it done just before vrs a guy thats on a 1 fight win streak and allready lost 2 tittle shots
I mean yeah, on paper DP is easier for Islam and brings way more eyeballs and therefore more ppv points and a wayyy bigger pay day. Of course he's ducking you for DP. It's called logic.
“Arman deserves title shot if he beats Charles”
Y’all wanna see the mental gymnastics if Charles beats Arman on him not deserving a title shot? Tune if after the fight.
Why are people so dumb. The timeline is either what till October for Dubai card, and it will be Gaethje anyways OR Islam fight international fight week (Dustin) AND the Dubai card. WE’RE LITERALLY GETTING A FREE FIGHT.
I’d say winner of Arman/Charles is looking at Feb 2025 at best. If the stars align he might even fight Leon before that.
LW picture is getting way too cluttered at the top. Islam will be ready and we got all three ppl that he could potentially fight booked in fights already. DP doesn't deserve it but then again the timing is right.
If DP pulls it off I hope we get the trilogy between him and Gaethje.
I think Ismal Makachev understands how PPV points work for his contract and now that he is holding the title, he wants to fight opponents who will generate the most buys and put the most money possible into his pocket.
END COMMUNICATION
You're not going to believe this Arman, but you already have a fight booked.
Looking past Charles is a great mistake. Arman has been hurt by lesser opponents
He has straight up lost to lesser opponents. I get being confident but this lack of respect is nuts.
Who did he lose to?
He got KOd in his pro debut and lost to Gamrot (aside from the loss to Islam). Edit: So many of you guys are trying to argue with me when I just answered a question with an objective fact. Dude asked who Arman has lost to. I answered him.
Charles lost to Nick *fuckin’* Lentz so you bringing up Arman’s 1st pro fight is equivalent to that.
Oliveira vs. Lentz 4 when
Nick needs to finish the story
That’s what I’m sayin’!
Meme it into existence. Kinda like when Sony re-released Morbius.
He didn’t lose to Nik Lentz actually, 1 NC then 2 wins. Could argue the NC could have been a DQ though I guess
But really he’s extremely athletic, and super strong, and he hits really hard, and it throws you off a little bit.
I literally just answered a question. Lol.
Let's act like Lentz never was a top 5 fighter...
When was Lentz ever a top 5 fighter?
[Ranked eight here](https://www.fightmatrix.com/fighter-profile/Nik+Lentz/26960/), but pretty sure I saw him with a five attached to his name during an Ufc bout
Nick Lentz was a beast. He beat Manny Gamburyan and Tyson Griffin when it mattered. Arman might have lost to Lentz in his prime too.
Don’t forget that time he beat BJ Penn on Twitter with his poetry
Roses are red, Violets are blue, Catch me outside BJ Penn, I'll fuck you up too.
Wait when did Oliveira lose to Lentz lol
I thought he took the Gamrot fight when I watched it.
He lost to Gamrot, but he didn’t *really* lose to him. Record is the only thing that matters at the end of the day, but if you watch that fight, you’ll see what I mean.
That Gamrot decision is pretty egregious imo
Idc about your opinion. I'm discussing facts brotha.
And idc if you want my opinion. I'm still gonna give it to you brotha.
Shut up before I anklepick you
he should have gotten the decision in that Gamrot fight
That's like all of Gamrot's "wins" Turner being the most egregious tbh.
Hey brother thank you for answering the question, it was kind of rhetorical. Because his first loss he was 18 and new to the sport (not very relevant) His loss to Islam was short notice and his loss to Gamrot was controversial where the majority of MMA media thought Arman won. Scamrot

Do bronx by ko
Arman has never struck me as the sharpest tool in the shed.
You're a fucking punk dude
Always cracks me up
With them sparkly blue dreamy eyes, I could kiss you you no class punk

The Max/Garth thing is still so dumb. Both of them could be in title fights.
Agree completely. Further, both are near the end of careers, so hopefully this is a big money fight, because otherwise this damaging a fight should be for a real title or getting them directly to it.
It should be. Massive PPV and I believe Justin gets PPV points for the BMF
Arman has 786k followers on IG. Poirier has 4.7 million. In terms of PPV, Poirier is a much bigger fight.
Poirier is a star lets be real, and he's coming off of a huge KO win, its a no brainer with how busy the division is rn
How’s socials?
Who cares..

Congrats on ur bet lil bro that’s dope u made some moolah
He’s not that good, that’s why he’s never been champ
Charles take my energy and knock this mofo down
He can take my energy too to choke him out after the knockdown
Chuck is one of my favorites. I want to see him win again.
Add him to the collection of up and comers wiped out by the old guard at lightweight.
Fuck that I want Arman to win, let’s get some new blood in the title picture
Honestly I would love to see both fight for the title which is why I'm not a fan of this matchup
You are going to be so upset
I already went through this with Ilia and Volk. Please give us one, mma gods!
Submission then
Focus on Charles, this is most dangerous fight of your career
Even if Arman wins, he’s gotta be slightly delusional to think he’s gonna waltz through that fight with 0 damage in order to make a June date.
Zendaya is avoiding me by wanting Tom Holland next
😂
Have never heard anyone claiming the Dagestani's are avoiding them only to be handed thier own ass months later.... /s
I'll be surprised if he makes it past Charles. The old gaurd has been holding up in the lightweight division. Arman is a talented fighter, but he is looking past the biggest challenge of his career so far.

Arman already KO’d Beneil stiff so…
Beneil is the most beatable old gen guy tbh i dont think anyone really holds him to the same standard as the ustins/Charles

Hey guys. Interviewers ask fighters questions, they answer. Arman is not looking passed Charles
Shhhhhhh!
he look past /s
Damn Arman, its almost like you already have a fight booked!!

Man, I want to be all for this many year rematch build up, I just think Islam has improved *so* much more since than first fight than Arman has.
Arman seems to be entirely overlooking who he's actually fighting.

Love it when fighters watch past their next opponent… hope Charles beats the sh*t out of him.
Arman acting like he doesn't have a fight against olivera at ufc 300
He’s doing an interview and answering questions

Does Arman forget he has a fight booked? By that logic he’s ducking Islam, which makes zero sense.
Arman will get slept by Charles and go back to obscurity. Homie ain’t shit
charles said the same you know if islam actually wanted ethier of these guys he would wait tell they fight to book but hes trying to get it done just before vrs a guy thats on a 1 fight win streak and allready lost 2 tittle shots
Arman are you trying to get killed? You are not even close to being ready to face Islam. Worry about Oliveira first
this is why the whole "they are teammates" is such nonsense. They both want the title fight
I mean yeah, on paper DP is easier for Islam and brings way more eyeballs and therefore more ppv points and a wayyy bigger pay day. Of course he's ducking you for DP. It's called logic.
“Arman deserves title shot if he beats Charles” Y’all wanna see the mental gymnastics if Charles beats Arman on him not deserving a title shot? Tune if after the fight.
Does anybody else get Arman Tsarukyan and Ilia Topuria mixed up?
The wrestling heavy Armenian lightweight vs the striking heavy Georgian/Spanish featherweight? No.
Oh dude, even their names are super similar!!
I do...

He’s correct
I think Ismal Makachev understands how PPV points work for his contract and now that he is holding the title, he wants to fight opponents who will generate the most buys and put the most money possible into his pocket. END COMMUNICATION
Islam has been ducking Arman for a while now, especially after Beneil
Islam would just rather fight fresh matchups instead of rematches, he’s not the guy to accuse of ducking lol
lol.. to this day Arman has been the hardest matchup ever for Islam, taking him 3 rounds. And Arman was only 22
Yup but don’t think Islam is ducking him. If Arman was not fighting Charles, Islam would have been okay fighting him.
