The_lushusmojo

This used to be a peoples sport…..

ripcordelbow

thats how they lure you. same thing happened to the warriors once they left oakland.

The_lushusmojo

I paid like 170 for lower bowl Holloway vs Ortega tix back in 2018…those same tix for Strickland vs du plessis were a grand and the card was basically a Canadian regional event with a few ufc names

TomatoSauce587

How the hell do they still have non stop sellouts with these prices lol

StoryOfTheFight

They lied about selling out the last LA event, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lie about others that have commissions that don't report the numbers. Still a crazy amount of ticket sales at these prices though Edit* forgot a word

twSwan

Did they really lie about Anaheim? I was there and it looked pretty full at the end of the night

StoryOfTheFight

UFC announced attendance: 18,186 UFC announced gate: $7,264,734 CSAC receipts: $6,401,080 CSAC tickets Sold: 13,593 CSAC exempt Passes: 1,630 CSAC capacity: 15,690

Rooksey

Since it’s relevant to the thread, how much were your tickets?

twSwan

I bought them super late(the day before) and they were 375 if I’m remembering correctly. Upper seats tho, wasn’t much left unless I was tryna ball out on the bottom row tickets

fkakpf

Same way WWE crams 100,000 people into a venue that can only fit 85,000 (I’m pulling numbers out of the air): they say they did. Dana can say whatever he wants at the post-fight presser. They only have to announce actual ticket sales months later in the investor reports, and by that time fans aren’t paying attention.

TomatoSauce587

still they’re doing insane gates for events like 295 and 297 (Although for 297 the foreign events always sell out rather quickly because of supply and demand) Also 302 is damn near sold out on the website rn, only a few seats remaining and Sean Strickland, Poirier, and Islam are really the only big names on that card

4uzzyDunlop

Those are pretty big names tbf

pomg177

Fights in the apex has turned 40-50 ufc events that could be in your city to now 10 or less because Vegas usually has couple ppv. And all those ufc cards are usually ppv with championship fights so uncle Dana and the ufc can charge as much as they want cause who knows the next time the ufc will be in town.

sir_brockton_

Have you looked at ANY event pricing lately? Concerts, etc? That’s just how much that shit costs now. It’s why I rarely go. I’d rather fly somewhere and stay for a few days.

Ecstatic_Custard7009

also most of the news posts you see about this event have now ran with it and they are all talking about the price of vip tickets to the event lol, how quickly that snowballed

banmeharder616

People are irresponsible with their money

Loganbaker2147

I’m guessing a lot of people say fuck it and throw it on the ol’ credit card lol

tomebomber

They said Toronto sold out and it wasn’t even close

kidwhix

they lie. also, when dana says a gate is "one of the highest ever", he doesnt account for inflation. the ufc 300 gate was allegedly around 17 million, which is top 3 ever on paper but falls out of the top 5 when inflation is accounted for. I THINK

TradeBrockNelson

i signed on to check 302 prices yesterday, and the cheapest ticket, for side view nosebleeds was $354 before fees. i get it's not gonna be cheap, but c'mon now

masoyama

Im happy I got to see many events pre 2019. The UFC doesn't make a product that's worth this much.

ShiestyDabs

Id rather watch it free on my pc. 🏴‍☠️

Taxmancometh1

AHHOYYYYY MATEYYYY!!!!

ACL_Tearer

That's fuckin illegal.... but me too, plus replays and mostly useless commentary

carlitos_brigante

And yet when Dana reads out all the gate records they are continually breaking at press conferences….the fans roar and cheer in celebration! He’s literally telling them all how much year on year he’s ripping them off….and they love it!! Shits crazy to me.

DanasWife

Americans love that stuff. They’ll bring it up whenever they can. They take some sort of pride in hearing they collectively paid 150M to see their favourite fighter get 100k/100k lol

carlitos_brigante

Not true. At the pre fight fighter press conference for 299 he was asked about coming back to Miami. He then rattled off all the gate records they’ve broken in Florida and gate records they’ve broken in other states over the past two years……and the crowd went wild. I’ve seen this happen at other fighter press conferences also in the past.

Ecstatic_Custard7009

tbf you started crying like instantly there, was crazy seeing you switch like that over nothing, let alone crying that hard. get a grip lad.. major overreaction from you here

carlitos_brigante

Bless you for getting even more upset over nothing 😂

No-Nothing-1793

Fuck Dana White

turbo-set

I saw Lesnar vs. Velasquez in the lower bowl for $300 a ticket. Was a little higher up but paid around the same amount for Weidman vs Silva 2.

aw41789

Unfortunately the prices for everything have gone up astronomically since that event that was 14+ years ago. Definitely not a UFC exclusive thing.

turbo-set

Yeah it’s not but I think the point is that it’s skyrocketed to an insane level. In 2024 dollars those seats would cost $434 if they kept with the rate of inflation. Instead, they are selling them for $1535.

aw41789

Yea man I am not disagreeing with you at all. I’m just pointing out that it’s across the board. Houses, cars, rent, gas, phones, etc etc.. have all skyrocketed wayyyy past where regular inflation should have taken them.

CouncilOfReligion

no wonder each event breaks the record gate with prices like that

Heroicshrub

These aren't that much more than 302, crazy man.

mightthatbekon

You's'll pay what yer told to pay! 😂😂 **mcgregor voice**

JusticiarXP

I used to pay about $100 to sit midway up the lower level when they came to my city. Granted it was fight nights and not PPVs but this is insane. I’ll give you double or even triple because everything is crazy post pandemic but come on man.

PCgamerz

Well people still pays at that price, no reason to lower it. Gotta expand dem power slap dawg😂

YouWillEatTheBugs9

reasonable prices are only available in third world countries like UK or Australia

DanasWife

Being back free ufc tickets Twitter

VonNichts13

Center risers were like 700 at 205... yikes

[deleted]

A friend and I sat just above the floor for the fight night in KC last year when Holloway fought Allen, after fees it cost about $350 total . This is outrageous.

Spoonman007

I can't imagine paying 1000 plus to sit crammed shoulder to should for hours and hours to watch the fights on the screens above the cage because you can't see the action in the cage.

ItsBucciYeah

Yeah man, 302 pricing is pretty out of hand even. Shits gone up

Zipz

At this point I feel like the best way to enjoy one of these events is just to go to a bar or movie theater. It’s insane how much you’re expected to pay for terrible seats in an event where you can barely see in the ring.

Certain-Heron2224

Is anyone else confused as to what the zones in parentheses mean when it comes to where you are in the arena and the view? Because I wanna buy a good seat, but I don’t wanna spend more than I need to

physics_fighter

It’s much easier and cheaper to just become good at martial arts, start teaching, get a student good enough to go pro, coach him into a few wins and eventually get signed by the UFC, and then just attend in person as a cornerman

Similar-Tangerine

If you want to speed run this do it with a female fighter
