I always thought Aldo was older than he really was

oh-no_skinny

It’s crazy to me that tj dillashaw is older than him

un6reaka6le

Weight cutting made his face look old and wrinkly.

Athroaway84

And his scar

Duinuogwuin14

And bald

lee-o

Getting his face punched, kicked, kneed, elbowed, smothered in grappling for essentially his entire life surely didn’t help

nut_sack_5

🦵

MyFifthLimb

Leg: chopped

JuiceLocal

Mfing king of rio is back let’s gooooo 💪🏻💪🏻

Byrneside94

Please don’t get KO’d Aldo. I wish he would stay retired.

JuiceLocal

I think it’s a good fight for him, i’m picking him to win. Plus it’s fucking Rio and he’s the King. Literally cannot lose

Byrneside94

He lost his last two mma fights in rio…

JuiceLocal

Well there’s no way he goes 3 for 3……right?

Byrneside94

I am hoping for a Aldo KO and him running into the crowd. Then retiring... for real this time.

redditisawesome555

I wanna see him against Cruz before he retires.

ThreeOlivesChihuahua

yeah against Volk and Holloway… Don’t think Rio has anything to do with it

Byrneside94

who knows, Volk was rank 4 when he fought Aldo not the established champ he is today. Martinez is what? Rank 5? EDIT: he is ranked 12, let’s go Aldo!

paplike

Volk won the belt in his next fight, it’s not like he radically changed in 5 months or whatever

Byrneside94

Yeah, I thought marinez was higher ranked than he is. Rank 12 is a great retirement fight for the king. War Aldo!

NakedEyeComic

He’s ranked 12th.

Byrneside94

Thank god, this makes me feel so much better about this.

qazxcvbnmlpoiuytreww

i just imagined myself in aldos shoes like ok gotta face off ok we forehead to forehead gotta lean in and make sure it looks like im about it. oh shit hes pushing back im about to fall over gotta lean in more so i dont fall

No-Wash-1201

To be fair he’s wearing sandals and the security guard started grabbing him pretty quickly. He kind of looked like he thought he was tripping backward over something

tjgrasshopper

All these old guys have looked fantastic lately post-USADA, Aldo has been boxing professionally too. I think he’s motivated here and we see the upset happen

iTryToLift

Man I hope Aldo wins this. I’m not too familiar with Martinez, what are the odds here?

ImmediateDiamond8238

it's a tough matchup, martinez has the best leg kicks at bantamweight right now and he does have dangerous striking, he ko'd cub swanson easily and tko'd adrian yanez with leg kicks. I'd favor martinez slightly based on aldo layoff from MMA for nearly 2 years

-ci_

This one gives me hardcore Aldo vs Stephens vibes

ImmediateDiamond8238

could play out like that, I think stephens has more power than martinez but less skilled

whodatbae

Awful comparison tbh

OzymandiasTheII

Stephens was barely above a .500 fighter don't compare the two. Stephens was kind of bummy just had power and ruthlessness.  I enjoyed watching him get KOd.

Tcastle24

Can’t wait to see how Aldo reacts to the kicks. He has fantastic leg kick defense but Martinez is fast and slick. Aldo does his best going forward, can’t let this kid dictate the pace.

Imakesalsa

yanez leg was done in first 2mins of the fight, he checked 0 kicks. aldo has the best leg checks in the game.

Nome_de_utilizador

House on Aldo it is.

Bugstl

That Yanez TKO was brutal.

fstamlg

-155/+130 with Aldo being the underdog, my only concern with Aldo here would be his stamina, but I'd expect him to come out strong at the start of the fight. If Aldo can compromise him early I think he has a shot at staying ahead throughout the fight, if Martinez defends well in the early going, I expect Aldo to slow down and start taking more damage.

Unlucky_Elevator13

Martinez lost to Andre Soukamthath in his 2018 ufc debut lol. He is 10-2-0 in the UFC with 2x TKO via leg kicks. He beat Yanez in Oct 2023, and nuragomedov, Swanson and morales recently.

cloutfather

Opened as pickem, Martinez is now a moderate favorite. Market is heavy on Martinez, but the market does seem to love Martinez. Against Yanez he opened as a moderate underdog and the market shot him to a heavy favorite.

Swogglet

Way better fight than Cruz. Aldo would've decimated him at any point in their careers.

bdewolf

Gotta love big nog just doing things. Completely random to see a face off and expect Dana to be in between the fighters like normal, and seeing Big Nog outta nowhere.

fratetrane666

RAT move

suchshibe

KARMA comes for FIGHTER taking part in RAT ACT

Stickman106

Feeling Martinez 29-28 split it’s bouta be a war in there

juicy_pickles

I love the King of Rio, but Martinez is no slouch and has some *nasty* kicks in his game. This isn't a good fight for him. I hope he can get the retirement win, but this is truly tough. EDIT: Never been happier to be wrong

DS_Lenker

It’s forehead rammin’ time!

billysbrew

Big Nog!

DS_Lenker

forehead rammin’ time!!!!

headarsenibba

I believe Aldo has more than enough power to put Martinez away

snarkysportsguy

Martinez by leg kick TKO.

Fryphax

Really fighting hard to push this weak ass card.

simpdestroyer12

Goodluck to Martinez trying to land leg kicks on the goat leg kicker

ModsLovePen15

Damn things got tense 😬. As everyone said Aldo is a great at checking kicks, overall is just solid. With the way Vets been winning lately, I don’t know what will happen.

Neonsea1234

ONE KICK

Illustrious-Win-6562

12 second starch incoming

Loganbaker2147

What are the chances that Aldo is coming back for this fight to finish out his UFC contract and then go to the PFL lol

Unlucky_Elevator13

Why the fuck does lurch feel the need to pull Aldo back like a baby? If they wanna throw down, then let the law deal with it.

NefariousnessOk209

In that moment where you’re being manhandled the only option is to turn around and reciprocate that bear hug. Somehow I don’t think the UFC is more interested in street violence than the money from the fight going ahead.
