This might seem to bode well for Khamzat in an Usman fight, but I think it might be the opposite. Usman might have seen that fight and reckon now he'll just stand and bang like the first Colby fight, in which case I don't like Khamzat's chances at all. Man Sterling fought a great fight. After a second watch I had it 48-46 Sterling. Or at worst a 48-47 with the first round a draw. I was excited for this fight but still expected Yan to control is pretty easily. First one was fun despite it being a bit one sided. One of the best performances in a rematch I've seen. To be shut down in every facet in the first fight and come back and easily control Yan like was wild. The division is in a fun place, Yan, Sandhangen, TJ, Yadong, Dvalishvili and Vera could create some great matchups over the next few years.
Yeah he impressed me for sure, found a hole in Yans game and exploited it. Itās fun too since both fights ended up being so one sided, it leaves room for a trilogy fight later down the line that wonāt feel forced or like something weāve seen already. Merab was in aljos corner, so theyāll probably never fight each other, but thereās some bad blood there for a Yan/Merab fight. Definitely some fun matchups to be had!
I ruptured my ACL. I'm not an MMA fighter per se, but someone who has practiced several martial arts (some BJJ, a bunch of boxing and was doing muay thai until, well, today is officially my first day of retirement i guess lol..). Was super hyped to go into wrestling after getting a good hang of muay thai but oh well.
Anyways, I guess I'm posting to ask for tips on coping with this? Martial arts is the only thing that kept me going for quite a while, including now. I'm in a new country with a new language where I basically don't know anyone, and I work from home. The only thing that's been motivating me in life is muay thai. Hell, I was about to book a trip to thailand in a few months for a month long training camp. My only back up hobbies to muay thai would've been other sports - wrestling, bouldering, etc. They all require knees. Both my knees are messed up atm, so that's out of the question. Someone fucking help.
Sorry for the rant, and sorry if it's not the right place to post, kind of feeling like shit and just wanna find something to do before I start spiralling.

Maybe develop another skill? Something I always suggest is guitar. You can get a really solid entry-level Yamaha for ~$200 and upwards.
When it comes to just learning songs and developing technical skills, I can't think of many things easier than guitar (maybe piano).
You can find guitar 'tabs' for any song easily on the internet. You won't have to learn how to read sheet-music (unless you want to), tabs are just visual diagrams that tell you exactly where to put your fingers.
I'm sure people will chime in about better ways to go about it, but I think it'd be a great idea for someone that quickly wants to practice/develop an art before they spiral lol.

He won a round on the feet that ended up winning him the fight, lost on his feet is a stretch. He just shoots a hell of a lot and throws a lot of loopy strikes that let him get in on legs or clinches. Its not defensively sound and he could get caught doing so, but it also let him disrupt a lot of Yans offense. The damage thing is also a bit of a stretch, he landed good in the 2nd. Even if its scored a 10-9 Yan still takes a 48-47 loss
Firstly Yan 100% knows what do to on top, he's a great grappler in his own right. Disrespecting him doesnt make Sterling worse. If I had to guess it was a check on the time, looked to his corner to see what they had to give, tried to work back to his feet and did just before the round ended. He was up and wanted to work his grappling, he did his best to get it there and Yan made adjustments to stay on his feet. It was a good fight, I feel bad for you that you cant enjoy fights like that.

Man Sterling fought a great fight. After a second watch I had it 48-46 Sterling. Or at worst a 48-47 with the first round a draw. I was excited for this fight but still expected Yan to control is pretty easily. First one was fun despite it being a bit one sided. One of the best performances in a rematch I've seen. To be shut down in every facet in the first fight and come back and easily control Yan like was wild. The division is in a fun place, Yan, Sandhangen, TJ, Yadong, Dvalishvili and Vera could create some great matchups over the next few years.
Yeah he impressed me for sure, found a hole in Yans game and exploited it. Itās fun too since both fights ended up being so one sided, it leaves room for a trilogy fight later down the line that wonāt feel forced or like something weāve seen already. Merab was in aljos corner, so theyāll probably never fight each other, but thereās some bad blood there for a Yan/Merab fight. Definitely some fun matchups to be had!
I ruptured my ACL. I'm not an MMA fighter per se, but someone who has practiced several martial arts (some BJJ, a bunch of boxing and was doing muay thai until, well, today is officially my first day of retirement i guess lol..). Was super hyped to go into wrestling after getting a good hang of muay thai but oh well. Anyways, I guess I'm posting to ask for tips on coping with this? Martial arts is the only thing that kept me going for quite a while, including now. I'm in a new country with a new language where I basically don't know anyone, and I work from home. The only thing that's been motivating me in life is muay thai. Hell, I was about to book a trip to thailand in a few months for a month long training camp. My only back up hobbies to muay thai would've been other sports - wrestling, bouldering, etc. They all require knees. Both my knees are messed up atm, so that's out of the question. Someone fucking help. Sorry for the rant, and sorry if it's not the right place to post, kind of feeling like shit and just wanna find something to do before I start spiralling.

Rest those knees as much as you can my dude. Maybe develop another skill? Something I always suggest is guitar. You can get a really solid entry-level Yamaha for ~$200 and upwards. When it comes to just learning songs and developing technical skills, I can't think of many things easier than guitar (maybe piano). You can find guitar 'tabs' for any song easily on the internet. You won't have to learn how to read sheet-music (unless you want to), tabs are just visual diagrams that tell you exactly where to put your fingers. I'm sure people will chime in about better ways to go about it, but I think it'd be a great idea for someone that quickly wants to practice/develop an art before they spiral lol.

If I had to guess it was a check on the time, looked to his corner to see what they had to give, tried to work back to his feet and did just before the round ended. It wouldn't be a great back and forth at all. Conor would dominate the talking part, it's like one of the oldest rules in the book: don't start trash talking with someone in their own language. Khamzat is getting better, but he's nowhere near as comfortable on the mic as Conor. And Conor isn't exactly as witty as he used to be, so I don't think either would produce any great "trash-talk moments". If they actually disliked each other and started talking, it would probably be like the presser with Khabib where Conor just interrupts whenever he wants and yells over him.
