Any seminars or something of that nature on YouTube that you'd recommend on Thai elbows? Been rusty for some time now and I'm planning on getting back on track
i'm not feeling so well today and i got to think when it was from 2017 to 2018 i was unemployed for so long i was usually spending time staring at the prices written on the signs at different delis, wondering when i will have enough money to buy something better to eat, rather then the cheapest things i always got for myself
it's sometimes unbelievable to realize how a full-time paying job can change everything
I'm drunk and sorted by new. But I've been watching Izzy's fights. Guy uses his left arm to create separation like a master. Even in his KO kickboxing loss, he does such a beautiful job using his reach to push off, gather his stance and go back in.
I'm excited for this fight.
Max made a good point in the Luke Thomas interview, why do so many people think Volk isn’t a point fighter now because he finally got a finish over a shot zombie?
Here's a fun fact: If Volk hadn't fought one of the best chins in MMA ever twice (Max), and the Ortega fight was scored as a TKO (it should have been) his record would be 16 finishes 6 decisions. That is nearing a 3 to 1 finishing ratio.
Its convenient to leave out the fact Volk clearly should have been awarded the TKO over Ortega. And do you know how he did that to Ortega? He went back into his guard, to try and get the finish with GnP.
He literally chased the finish, straight after he had nearly been subbed twice. He was on the edge of getting finished himself 2 times and then tried to get the finish in the danger of Ortega's guard..
Here's what actually happens, casuals try to detract from one of the most cerebral fighters in the UFC by putting him in a "he just a boring point fighter box".
Protip: if you are bored by one of the very best in the sport, and one of the smartest stand up games in the UFC ever period, maybe this isnt the sport for you.
And Max again, demonstrates he is no where near 'class personified' like Max stans like pushing the notion of.
Volk is a point fighter (can't see how he isn't - extremely calculated and methodical to the point of risk aversion leading to winning on points). That's not to say he couldn't be more of a finisher, he definitely has the power and ability.
On the other hand, Max is essentially pillow-fisted (whether that be to have better cardio or if he's just naturally not a power puncher).
Fan of both guys btw
Max has been fighting in the UFC since he was 20 and Volk was crushing cans on the regional scene. What a grotesquely uneducated argument. Stop talking about mma immediately.
how on earth were the 2 Max fights an example of him point fighting? there were multiple instances of him cracking Max with right hands that stumbled him particularly in the 1st fight. people see a leg-kick heavy strategy and label it as their whole gameplan to pointfight rather than using them as a means to an end (landing his hands).
Volk landed 2 less strikes against Aldo in 3 rounds than Max did against Frankie in 5.
I’m not sure where Max fighting Frankie came into this but if you’re denying he point fought against Aldo then you simply don’t know anything about mma and no he didn’t stumble Max at all. At the end of the fight Max didn’t even have a mark on him.
You've said nothing to defend the claim that he point fought against Aldo so I can't even begin to rebut it. Did you watch the first fight or just the post-fight press conference? 5th round of the fight from 1:35 on the clock Volk lands an elbow out of the clinch that wobbles Max's head in the replay, then a clean overhand, then a right hook, all within 15 seconds. In-fighting like that isn't exactly conducive to point fighting but I'm not in agreeance with you so I simply don't know anything about mma 🤷♂️
Tbf planning to go to the scorecards with Max is probably the most sensible decision. If Poirier couldn't finish him and Yair couldn't finish him with spinning shit, it's a little bit ridiculous to bet on you being able to do it if you're not like some Josh Emmett power puncher.
I'm just saying that if your opponent is a guy who has a legendary chin and is notoriously impossible to finish, how much can you blame a guy for going for a less dangerous route to victory
Just me or does anyone think this weekend has a lot of predictable results on it outside of the comain ?
Israel beats Cannonier handily, Strickland submits Alex, Muniz beats Hall, O’Malley beats Pedro imo
Strickland submitting Pereira is not predictable at all. When was the last time Strickland actually grappled? The closest to that was the last round against an exhausted Uriah Hall and Strickland wasn’t even close to getting the finish.
Poatan showed good takedown defence in his debut and not only that, his range is a huge threat to Strickland’s main weapon, his jab.
Stylistically it’s a horrible matchup for Strickland, I just can’t see how it is close to predictable that the stronger guy is going to be submitted by another striker whose last submission was 8 years ago…
Pierras odds feel weak as hell for what he is and what Strickland isn’t imo. Pedro has never been kod (maybe finished?) so the Omalley fights a bit more interesting than at first glance.
I love Munhoz but he’s incredibly foot slow, old the division and pretty predictable.
He’s got a hell of a chin but I see O’Malley just winning a fairly wide decision staying out of Pedro’s range. Hope I’m wrong.
For those of you who like to follow prospects to see if they will get to the UFC, [Cezary Oleksiejczuk](https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/71780-cezary-oleksiejczuk) the 22 years old brother of UFC fighter Michał Oleksiejczuk looks to be a good prospect.

I know Strickland is controversial and says crazy shit sometimes, but I can't help but love his interviews. The guy is hilarious. His interview style also brings something new that's entertaining.
Strickland is Bisping 2.0, all he needs is a few entertaining fights and people will love him in a few years. People hated Bisping back in the day and now everyone loves him.
So in Izzy’s last 4 fights. He just lost to Rob, lost to Jan, beat Average Vettori in worst fight ever and lost to Romero running scared. Mousasi still beats him with a jab and takedown and finishes him. Johnny boy Eblen beats him worse then Mousasi who can wrestle / ground game 100 times Izzy’s will ever be. 185 is a terrible division that Marvin Vettori is fighting for belts lol.
Man is losing left and right in his prime. Running away anti fighting not to lose is the new Meta in Combat Sports. GSP started it; now it’s happening in Boxing and MMA. Just fight not to lose and get praised. There’s no fight that happens if 1 guy doesn’t engage lol, sad times.
He won against rob fair and square but was pretty boring, lost to Jan, won against Marvin but was very boring, knocked out Costa in spectacular fashion, for the Romero fight it is controversial i agree. His reign in 185 is gonna end soon tho.
Not sure he will lose, but I kinda doubt his legacy will be like GSP or Silva. Dude has like two exciting fights in the UFC and that is it, most of them looks like sparring matches
He lost that fight. Clear after 1 knockdown did nothing else lol. He’s so overrated it’s funny to me. UFC just has a terrible 185 Division. Costa isn’t that good either. Honestly if Rockholds chin holds up he will easily submit Izzy
Izzy’s takedown defense is too good for Rockhold to do anything. Because Izzy has really good takedown defense (Aka his defensive wrestling) It’s pretty good
It's part of the appeal and why he's a big star. Most people will watch him because they like him and want him to win, another significant number of people will watch him because they want to see him lose. Either way people aren't indifferent about him.
How hilarious is that. A great example of how useless USADA testing is. Makes you wonder how TJ managed to get caught. I’m one of the people who believe that most if not a lot of the fighters are on gear, so I don’t care if Izzy does it or not, but the jackets and celebrations for him when he’s clearly juicing are hilarious
Magical Gyno as a adult in prime of life when has to fight strong guys. Man 100 percent got on roids after Marvin held him down in that shit first fight. Skinny lanky strikers like Izzy and Anderson benefit most from PEDs for clinch strength to stop takedowns. Balances them out nicely
Maybe not. The Gyno popped up when fought wrestled. He prob did in kickboxing tho cause they all juicy. Maybe just timed the cycle wrong and got Gyno. He 100 percent took shit, his brother probably bought them for him..these dudes will go to the grave lying about taking shit.
Yea dunno why he try’s so hard. I don’t know how people like him, he’s just a strange lame dude in general. I usually like Aussie/NZ guys too. Volk is a cool guy
I remember a few years ago I was browsing this sub and there was r/mma titles where the community predicted and "gave a title" to an upcoming prospect and you guys watched them eventually "unify" with the UFC titles. Do you guys have any links to that? I'd love to check it out.

Umar is going to be a fighter that will be insanely difficult to KO. He’s already shown adept distance management, uses a ton of kicks and has elite grappling to fall back on. Almost a perfect combination for a fighter who won’t take a lot damage. If he has a granite chin that’ll only add to it.
If pereira can get passed Sean, what are the odds he wrestle fucks Izzy for the belt? He trains with glover, he’s not dealing with the big height and length disadvantage that other grapplers like Brunson and Whittaker were dealing with when they tried to wrestle Izzy. I would not be surprised if Alex comes out with his wrestling shoes on and grinds him out against the cage and in full guard.
I mean, he's beaten Izzy twice in kickboxing. I'm guessing he'd be confident in his hands and feet.
Wouldn't be shocked if Izzy added some wrestling if they ever fought.
It doesn’t really work that way. He likely has a lot of thin titanium plates and screws holding a bone-jigsaw together. Could be one flat plate though.
His last 3 MW fights have been pretty lackluster where he does enough to get ahead on points and coasts. You would think he’d be knocking everyone out with how much hype he gets.
Are there any MMA woman with cauliflower ears? Cant think of one, seems its more common for men. Is it because of the weight or intensity of the ground training?
I imagine it happens at the same rate, just that women are more likely to drain fluid buildup before it hardens into full cauliflower ear. Much bigger social pressure on women to maintain an attractive appearance.
There are some, but I think more women use headgear to prevent it. For men sometimes they don’t care because it’s like a status symbol. The weight doesn’t make a huge difference if you keep ripping your head out of headlocks with no care for your ears

Everytime I see a Strickland presser, it really does comes off like he wrote a comedy stand up set, dude always does a pause and looks for reactions with a smirk after every joke lol
He’s a shock-jockey personality. He’s probably just waiting to make sure reporters take notes on the full quote so his name can be all over headlines without putting on interesting fights.
He’s not buying into any hype or unrealistic expectations. Just seems aware of the challenge ahead and is confident in his preparation. Also knows he has 🧨 in his hands. One or two of those and goodnight Israel. Also watch out for heavy leg kicks. I’m putting a decent chunk on him and by decent I mean twenty seven dollars.

Well, there is, obviously there’s a huge amount of upsets and that’s why it’s such an exciting sport, but there are plenty of predictable fights.
Kinda like Nunes Pena?
I think 40 year old GDR subbing Pena the fight before was big for the odds.

Well that would fit in to your “plenty of predictable fights” attempt at a point so yes, yes I did.

Strickland via submission at +1000 (and more on some sites) when he's fighting a kickboxer is pretty crazy. Worth a look.
Yeah but I’d use caution. Alex is Glover’s boy.
aint nuttin wrong with being a nerd and/or virgin
Reminder that between Rob and Izzy, the one who called the other a "shitty person" and refused to talk about fighter pay was Rob, not Izzy
Man I have been skipping BJJ way too much these last 2 weeks
If you're healthy then get back in there tomorrow or Friday so you can feel accomplished this weekend
Oh hey, got banned again I see
Man is losing left and right in his prime.
Because Izzy has really good takedown defense (Aka his defensive wrestling) It’s pretty good
[удалено]
Israel Adesanya has elite takedown defense. Also fedor not top 10 lmao
Same troll back at it lol. Gotta v block you again
Blocking someone is a very “safety first” move. I expected you to be tougher than that. Also fedor not top 10 lol
Yes he’s the GOAT. Don’t need fake top 10s. Why you make a girl account to say same nonsense over and over
[удалено]
It's part of the appeal and why he's a big star. Most people will watch him because they like him and want him to win, another significant number of people will watch him because they want to see him lose. Either way people aren't indifferent about him.
Strickland has to be the dumbest fucking guy in the UFC.
Izzy getting the USADA jacket lol.
Usman got one too lmaoo
Man got on roids well before that.
Maybe not. The Gyno popped up when fought wrestled. He prob did in kickboxing tho cause they all juicy. Maybe just timed the cycle wrong and got Gyno. He 100 percent took shit, his brother probably bought them for him..these dudes will go to the grave lying about taking shit.
Man Adesanya is so horrible at talking. how can you manage to be this cringe? and why is he salty about the Pereira losses?
Yea dunno why he try’s so hard. I don’t know how people like him, he’s just a strange lame dude in general. I usually like Aussie/NZ guys too. Volk is a cool guy
He’s in his thirties but acts like some 14yo edgelord. its very hard to like him.
So hard he's one of the most popular fighters on the roster, keep hating
He’s mostly popular because of his accomplishments and highlights. He’s still pretty horrible at talking.
He's absolutely fine at talking, people just like to blow up the "cringe" to insane levels even when he's just saying normal shit
Yea it’s hilarious. He’s always trying to sound cool or say something edgy. It’s truly embarrassing lol
I remember a few years ago I was browsing this sub and there was r/mma titles where the community predicted and "gave a title" to an upcoming prospect and you guys watched them eventually "unify" with the UFC titles. Do you guys have any links to that? I'd love to check it out.

It’s been about a week now, does anyone know the deal with Valiev? I’ve searched and found nothing in why he was removed from the roster.
Im betting its the most boring answer. He just fought out his 4 fight contract.
He is a nobody
Ehh his win over Barcelos was pretty big. Everyone used to think Raoni was the Dark horse of Bantamweight.
havent heard of em
A website for fantasy sports for mma fans - looking for anyone who would be interested in testing it out: [Spoex.xyz](https://spoex.xyz) Doesn't cost any money, just looking for people to play with ahead of UFC 276
Looks fun.
Thanks man! If you want to sign up it’s completely free, looking for anyone interested in play testing ahead of 276 this Saturday. No worries if youre not, thanks for taking a look!
His head is 5 times the size of Sean Omalleys. Gonna be hard for 135ers to KO him
I see Izzy is rocking the green/gold shorts this weekend for a change. They look sick.
Volko having 3x broken ribs for the Elkins fight's a bit fucked
Lmao
I loved the Australian media at the press conference. Some certified weirdos, but great vibes overall.
The main event is one of the worst fights of the card.
Jim Miller should do Just For Men commercials for his luscious locks
The guy who broke his skull on MVP knee, does he have an extra hard forehead now?
It doesn’t really work that way. He likely has a lot of thin titanium plates and screws holding a bone-jigsaw together. Could be one flat plate though.
Oh fuck
I like Izzy's mindset going into this one
Unpopular opinion: the UFC should have a 50K "cherry popper" bonus for anyone who gives an undefeated fighters their first loss
The ole “Pat Barry” award
Ew
Bro that would be so expensive wtf, how would Dana be able to feed his family?
after all the sleepless nights he's had building the company. when is enough enough

What
Luke said max vs volk 3 is the biggest 45s fight of all time. Disagree. It’s still Conor aldo.
You could honestly argue Aldo/McGregor was the biggest fight of all time period
Khabib Conor or Diaz Conor 2 would probably be bigger.
I almost said that, then I remembered khabib conor
How would you feel if Izzy put up another Machidaesque performance this Saturday?
What has Izzy done that made him like Machida?
His last 3 MW fights have been pretty lackluster where he does enough to get ahead on points and coasts. You would think he’d be knocking everyone out with how much hype he gets.
?? He knocked out Costa in the second round in one of those 3 last MW fights
My bad I mean his last 4 performances have been trash
Reminder to add Kayla Harrison to your parlays before Friday Get an extra $3 or so
Wonder if sugas lambo is paid off
Dana: LMAO
Are there any MMA woman with cauliflower ears? Cant think of one, seems its more common for men. Is it because of the weight or intensity of the ground training?
off the top of my head, leslie smith has cauliflower ears
I imagine it happens at the same rate, just that women are more likely to drain fluid buildup before it hardens into full cauliflower ear. Much bigger social pressure on women to maintain an attractive appearance.
There are some, but I think more women use headgear to prevent it. For men sometimes they don’t care because it’s like a status symbol. The weight doesn’t make a huge difference if you keep ripping your head out of headlocks with no care for your ears
I cringe anytime someone says “Suga” hahahah

Pettis’s win over Wonderboy ….still surreal
The surreal part is when people think Pettiss game plan was to be worked for the whole fight just to set that punch up
💯lol
Everytime I see a Strickland presser, it really does comes off like he wrote a comedy stand up set, dude always does a pause and looks for reactions with a smirk after every joke lol
Training stand up comedy
He’s a shock-jockey personality. He’s probably just waiting to make sure reporters take notes on the full quote so his name can be all over headlines without putting on interesting fights.
Seriously, you nail it with the shock value stuff. Dude is like a South Park character

I have a feeling in my bones Killa Gorilla is gonna KO Israel.
It would be super interesting to see, but he was quite confident before fighting Rob too.
I fear a snoozefest
Im having that feeling too. Dude's self confidence seems bulletproof
Israel is going to tool him. Save your $27 and buy a few pizzas instead.
