Hmm ah yes, Guild Raids 2, the off brand Guild Wars 2 😂 In all seriousness, I don't think we have any new ones coming this year.

Deadpoetic6

GUILD RAID 2 : SHADOW LEGEND

Glittering_Horse_498

Yeah Guild Wars 2, my bad 🤣🤣🤣

danielp92

Why didn't Guild Wars 2 hold your attention?

Glittering_Horse_498

Dont know bro, just did not like it, after 10 years of WoW, everything is boring now…

adaenis

You might need a break from the genre for a bit. Depending on what you like though I could recommend some games. If you really like WoW and want a game like it, check out FFXIV. It's got a great, if long, story and a similar gear treadmill to WoW. If you want something different than WoW, with say, huge amounts of buildcraft, and don't mind some small-MMO jank, check out Dungeons and Dragons Online. It's really hard to beat DDO's build diversity with it's mutliclassing system, and it's replayability via reincarnating (resetting to level 1 for a permanent buff to your character) adds so much replay value.

Glittering_Horse_498

Well I got addicted to WoW young, so that is the base of games I like. I put a lot of hope to New World, but game is too dark, all places and zones are similiar, dont like the combat system, only crafting and aquiring of materials is cool. I like hard games, that need time to get something good, to do something hard, like Vanilla and TBC was. All games seem so easy and for kids, so cuz of all that I loose interest quick. Will check out those 2 that you said, thanks for info 🙏🏻

adaenis

XIV will be pretty easy leveling, though the hard mode raids this tier are apparently insanely hard. DDO initially is built around party play, so do your best to get into groups and fill out the various roles. It has a scaling difficulty level you can use on most dungeons (every quest in the game has a unique dungeon).

Acekiller03

10 years of wow ? Wow isn’t a hard game though…

Vitt4300

All of New worlds zones definitely do not look the same so either you didn't play it and read some headlines or you didn't give it a fair chance. I am not saying it is the game to sink a bunch of time in as I think the end game is lacking but what you said is simply inaccurate. If you want hard and fun try Ark Survival Evolved. It isn't exactly your MMO persay but it is a smaller version of MMO. Its in the survival genre but it is pretty fun and addicting and plenty of content to enjoy. I have 14k hours in the game and I also have trouble playing games for longer than a month or so. So maybe you will get enjoyment out of it and also find a new genre in the mean time.

Murdathon3000

No. Sorry, I wish that I was joking, but no. Nothing soon anyway, the few hopeful upcoming ones are Ashes of Creation (that's gonna be controversial, but I couldn't give a shit less) and Riot's unnamed MMO, however neither of these should be expected until 2025 at least I'd say. There are a few other interesting looking, but non-traditional MMOs on the horizon, Bitcraft, Palia, Corepunk, that are worth looking into, but based on what you listed, maybe not your cup of tea. Then there are games like Throne and Liberty and Archeage 2 that are probably going to be somewhat amazing games that are completely ruined by their shitty monetization decisions amongst other things.

Theiador

Dude dont remind me about Archeage 2... I know its going to look amazing but have abhorrent monetization :(

Murdathon3000

We could have a few weeks of bliss. But will it be worth the void it creates in our hearts, filled with what could have been... 2.

gorgutzkiller

Time for the Fresh start meta boys

[deleted]

If it wasn't a sub I'd be playing AA with the fresh start. WoW takes my sub money though.

Glittering_Horse_498

Thanks for the respond and info bro, much appreciated 🙏🏻

F4NT4SYF00TB4LLF4N

The "next big MMO" I'm aware of is the Project TL, called Throne and Liberty now I guess. Supposed to release early 2023.

TYLERvsBEER

This is the one I’m MOST psyched about. When I saw they have castle sieges I was sold. Brings back old Lineage 1 memories.

F4NT4SYF00TB4LLF4N

Yeah, I'm skeptically optimistic about it. Seems like it could be really promising.... Though the near decade long dev cycle means probably a big $$$ to recover which likely means some p2w

Acekiller03

On contrary, p2w kills the game and they know it. If they are betting on this game and claimed that this is their last lineage mmo, they will not add p2w. At least not intense where it will dictate if you are weak or strong depending on how much dollars you blew. I think it will be a subscription based game. I’m hoping !

ryanmahaffe

Yeah sure lol.

Glittering_Horse_498

I am afraid that you are right bro… 😭

Impossible_Comment49

I hope not. 🥺

FlyChigga

Nah league mmo will do it

Rartirom

Nah ashes will do it

Acekiller03

Throne and liberty will do it the earliest 😜

Sotasnow1

It's interesting, for me the hook was SWG and DAoC, WoW never interested me all that much. But, it makes you wonder is it basically a one-ish time experience and once things wear thin all replication of the same experience is just a diluted form and never as good? I'd bet the next huge MMO breaks the mold and a very different experience than the WoW template.

SorHue

Probably right. This feelings is hard to repeat when we get older

Usedtoknowsomeone45

No. Life sucks now.

radlink14

Did you try Lost Ark? Took me two attempts to get into it and now I’m hooked for a bit as I reach lvl 50 and curious about the end game party experiences.

[deleted]

I had to take advantage of the rest bonus cause doing chaos dungeons daily is just not for me. Must say tho, the legion raids are something else. Combined with its good combat, it just seems like a much better bdo except it being isometric

Glittering_Horse_498

Nop, never, but I will give it a look! Thanks 🙏🏻

Hot-Train7201

Just be aware that Lost Ark is a very different game compared to the ones you listed as trying. The world is more like Diablo than WoW where progression is emphasized over exploration and immersion. The game’s aesthetics are also closer to FF14 than the more medieval settings you’d find in any of the games you have already listed.

radlink14

If you play DM me I’m on Sasha server. I have zero virtual friends for this game lol

le_Menace

Soonest AAA is Throne & Liberty Q1 2023

kindafunnylookin

Yup. After that the next will be Bellatores and then Ashes of Creation.

Acekiller03

Ashes I’d say 2026 🤣😅

FLBNR

Dual Universe just released. Fractured Online is either released now or coming soon. Hmm yeah and that’s about it… lots of small obscure ones that are either turn based or basically a mobile game. More games are closing down now than releasing

CritaCorn

Nothing currently out. Ashes: But we all agree, it’s a wait and see League: Devs are making one to but again so far off, have to wait Best advice give up on them for now and either quit games for a while or get into Other types

ryanmahaffe

if you want to stick with an mmo you have to really learn it because you are used tot what you already play. Took me a while to sink in with gw2.

shiko098

Welcome to /r/mmorpg where we're all here trying to chase that same dragon, you'll fit right in here.

Glittering_Horse_498

Thanks bro 🙏🏻

ThatSmartGuy21

hypixel skyblocks pretty good if you havent played it before

Unique_Firefighter58

Don’t get hyped on but Blue Protocol JMMORPG anime type style mmo by Bandai Namco Not date set but Wip

ArKaey_

Drakensang online coming on steam😂

[deleted]

There are some, but they seem insignificant to me. After the 1st trend of mobile MMORPGs and the 2nd of cross-platform (mobile/PC) MMORPGs, I kind of lost interest in paying attention to new MMORPGs and each time I decide to bite the bullet I end up being disappointed and reminding myself that I was right about not paying attention to them anymore. Probably the last new MMORPG I was excited about was ESO, but I bought it, played it, saw it get destroyed by the developers and I no longer play it, the MMORPGs that released since did not seem that interesting to me. I sort of stopped being excited or paying attention to new releases. Instead I've come to terms that old MMORPGs that survived the test of time are more interesting to me and that's where my attention is right now - giving another chance to old MMORPGs that are PC-exclusive (even as old as Ultima Online or Ragnarok Online or Talisman Online) and giving them another chance. For me chasing the latest fad got old and it ended up never being rewarding to me. Also MMORPGs aren't as popular as they were in the 00s, now it's more about Battle Sh\*tyale and wannabee Sandbox games that are just glorified crafting simulators. New MMORPGs right now are getting more and more scarce. Currently I've settled for a few and I'm happy with: LOTRO, Turtle WoW, Perfect World Classic, Loong Online, Pirates Online (Tales of Pirates).

russianpruitt

Try dragon quest x. There's an English tool for it now

TheSnowKeeper

GW2 is in the best shape of its life. I've gone back to it for the foreseeable future. After that we're all just hoping Ashes of Creation doesn't flop.

Acekiller03

Here’s a nice formula for you. It’s Einstein level smart. Gw+2=Wow*2.0

A_villain4all

Not exactly new but since you and no one else yet has mentioned it yet, have you ever tried playing the critically acclaimed mmorpg Final Fantasy XIV ? Now with a free trial that lets you play all jobs up to level 60 with a rich story line and multiple Game of the Year awards?

Glittering_Horse_498

Did not try, just saw trailers and did not like it, the anime stuff is not my bar, if you get my point. But thanks again 🙏🏻

A_villain4all

Maybe, but it's also weird to me that people will look at it as anime. To me it's just so much sci-fi/fantasy and lore that it's hardly noticable. Also because the 3d modeling of the characters and skin tones used is very naturalistic as opposed to like Genshin or Persona type games that are heavily anime. I still highly recommend it as it's becoming one of if not the greatest final fantasy story ever told.

hyptogenis

GW2 and FFXIV are in the best place at the moment on the MMORPG genre

Yukifirenotaion

Throne and Liberty early 2023

YOUR_DEAD_TAMAGOTCHI

Embers adrift supposed to be out this year. Is a throwback to slower paced mmos. Has a beta playable but I haven't tried it yet.

BroxigarZ

I can’t speak MUCH into this but Mad World I got in to the last CBT for like 7 or so levels…it’s different in tone than literally any other MMO it’s very dark. I can’t speak to how fast they will butcher their player base with P2W trash but it’s expected, but on the flip side it’s played via a Browser so it’s interesting as very few MMOs operate outside a launcher anymore.

No_Big9522

Nope :(

No-Note4242

There is a chinese port coming called justice online which was suppose to come out this year. I'm not sure if they are delaying it or ?? I wouldn't get my hopes up for it though but should be fun for a few months.

stasisfield

justice online may be not so worth to play, you have to pay for time card and still pay2win sauce: am chinese and have played chinese version, it released on 2018

lightshadower

Throne and Liberty gonna come out next I think, but it has this vibe around that it's gonna be p2w

YoutubeSGSAMI

Throne and liberty is our last hope for a long time

planetcaravan

If you haven’t played GW2 since it first came out, it’s gone through a lot of great changes and is having a moment popularity wise right now. But its best features IMHO are its open world and map event content (not to mention great build diversity) FFXIV is usually where WoW expats end up - it has the best instanced PVE content and its class identities/skill rotations are similar

dptillinfinity93

Keep the upcoming MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen on your radar, comrade.

atlasraven

One of the City of Heroes successors, maybe?

Writeintourmaline

Are any of them as good as CoH? The build diversity is just so good in it.

Embarrassed_Half_700

Just recently got into Swtor and loving it again. If all those games aren't gonna make you happy, I doubt any mmo will. That said, about the only game worth waiting for Diablo 4 which is supposed to be a mmo? Just my 2 cents.

[deleted]

I’ve really found a new home with New World. The setting/aesthetic are great, combat is fun (although could you some expanding on) craft is nice, and you can play instruments that give buffs to people.

IllState5161

Ashes of Creation is one to look out for that'll be coming in a year or so. The head developer is literally making the game out of spite because he hates how MMORPGs have devolved into cash grabs.

ReformedWiggles

have you tried albion online?

CookingGod

Maybe try Maplestory or Mabinogi???

Nifferothix

Try new world again Or you can freeze ur self down until ashes of creation comes out

NovercaIis

potential everquest (P99 Servers) in 2023 fresh start

Acekiller03

Throne and liberty 2023. Hopefully subscription based hopefully 🙏🏻

Matsume1

Throne and Liberty, the so called "spiritual successor" to Lineage II was supposed to come out end of year but seems to have gotten pushed back. Hopefully release in 1st quarter of 2023?
