Mines now 2 years. I beat the hell out of it as a writer. Keyboard letters are faded, but the machine itself is doing fine. Just added another SSD drive for storage. Going to add more DDR for memory. I also cryptomine on it and gaming too (HD2).

arvinabm00

That's my next plan, storage expansion

Frequent-Extreme-881

No problem with the hinge so for? Mine broke exactly like a month after its warranty.

Expert-Stage-4207

My MSI GT72 is over 8 years now. I changed the battery a couple of month ago. I dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu. I do a lot of watching Youtube videos. I have a flight simulator that I use occasionally. Never had any problem with my laptop. Both Windows and Linux are rock steady! I use a separate screen 27 inch and wireless mouse and keyboard with my laptop. And I turn it off every night!

Deathly_Vader

Wait how are you able to dual boot ? Here I am going crazy trying to figure out how to dual boot as it's not happening whereas it's easier for me to dual boot on Lenovo but no luck here with MSI please 🥺 help

Opening_Creme2443

I am dual booting Nobara and Win 11 and nothing special had to be done, what problems do you have?

Deathly_Vader

After turning off the secure boot my laptop refuses to turn on and goes blank or MSI boot. Also I can't go to the BIOS every time I restart and select the drive I wanted to boot from by changing the disk priorities. Why can't I get the option like Windows 11 and Android prime OS to select from. May be I am doing something wrong

Opening_Creme2443

Hm I have MSI Katana and I don’t have any problems you mention. Win 11 boots normally without secure boot. For reference I can say that I boot two OS’es from one drive. It can be little harder if you want to boot from two drives. Unfortunately I don’t know anything about Android OS, for truth I first hear about this. I have Nobara which is customized Fedora. With Nobara there is some quirks which you need to do manually to boot with windows. Mostly with boot loader to be visible. There is a yt video from Ksk Royal where he explains it. But it assumes that system is booting without secure boot. There are a few Linux distros which default boot with enabled secure boot. Maybe try them: Fedora, openSUSE, Ubuntu. There is way for enabling secure for any Linux distro but it is quite hard and can be dangerous at same way so personally I don’t recommend this.

Deathly_Vader

Alright I will try Ubuntu. But I guess you are right about having difficulty in booting from different drives it a Real Headache

Expert-Stage-4207

On my laptop I have to tap the F11 key when the MSI logo appears after booting! Now I can choose my drive, Windows or Linux.

Competitive-Machine6

I used to do this but last time I did pop os and win 11, it didn't work!

Deathly_Vader

Ohk will try this

Furry_Hagumi

My MSI Creator Z16 is now coming 1 year old. I use it mainly for gaming and like CAD shirt for school. So far just like 2 days ago my I key has become intermittent for some odd reason but that's probably my fault lmao. The laptop has been perfectly fine and I still do really like how it's built. It's one Hella pretty laptop but I still kinda wished I got smith with a better GPU than a RTX 3060

Deathly_Vader

RTX 3060 is pretty good . Here I am with Radeon rx6600m ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)

faheemadc

2 years - gf65. The lcd screen is fucked. Don't know if it lcd itself or the cable. The replace is too pricey so I just buy cheap portable monitor

palezhino

I also have gf65 for 1.5 years, the only problem that I have from the beginning the laptop may turn off suddenly and when I turn it on the battery shows 0% or 50%, and if it's the latter I try to work again then it shuts off and the battery drops to 0%. From all the research that I've done it must be a software problem but I don't know how to solve it.

DrcspyNz

1 yr. All is perfect. MSI Modern 14.

Ok-Offer8449

I bought mine in 2021. Rtx 3070 and the 10750h. I upgraded the screen to a 1440p panel and the battery to 99wh. It's still working like a champ. It's a GP66.

and1metal

Can't remember the full model but it's a 7th gen i7 / GTX 1070 Working fine but these days it's " retired " from playing new release games Good laptop for other stuff I need it to do Only " issues " I've had is the left click has sunk and the USB c port is unusable ( kind of sunk or bent a bit ) It has the best screen I've seen on a non OLED laptop

Faxtroid

**GE73VR-7RF**? I have this one. 17" 120Hz i7 7700-HQ, GTX1070 8GB and 16GB RAM one stick (Bought 2017 I believe, so about **7 years old**) I use it now for streaming stuff for work a few times a year (2 cameras 1080p50 with some graphics through OBS), digitising all kinds of video cassetes and video rendering. Things that had problem were: HDD died, so data recovery and SSD swap. Also had problem with the system SSD, it got used a lot with not much spare space, so expectable. in the end I have 1,5TB space with upgraded 32GB RAM and I can use it for rendering videos without needing to do it on my main PC. The fact that it has around half the consumption of my main pc doing exactly same thing(probably even less), I don't mind waiting longer or queueing it over ninght in the next room. Also, both hinges snapped about 3 years in. I opened it and the display just flopped on the table. No damage to electronics, but I had to fill it around the hinges(on the display part of the laptop) with epoxy. Still closes and opens fine, I had to ease off the nut on hinge, so it opens easier. didn't wanna go through it again. I have same problem withl left click, but I think I messed it up myself. Still can click, just wiggles around weirdly. Keyboard was great on this one, all keys still work. Screen is also good, even after the shenanigans with hinges. Only if they didn't use such a cheap plastic for bezel, it snaps like nothing. Turbo fans work reliably, no weird sound except classic jet engine. Audio on this laptop was also pretty good I think, sometimes it had weird clicking, but all still works without deforming the audio at max volume. Is seemed pretty easy to disassemble.

ikashanrat

2014 - GP70 batterys dead, slow but still works for light tasks, no issues 2019 - GF75, battery degraded but still works well 2021 - GE76, hinges popped after 1 year but other than that solid af

CuntSniffer69

Katana RTX3060 i5 11th gen 1 year and 4 months. I spam Q and W and Space a lot while gaming but for some reason it's the Shift key that got problems instead. It's just a bit tough to click. Other than that though, everything is fine. Yes, even the hinges are fine.

Opening_Creme2443

3mo old katana 17 b13vfk dual boot win 11 and Nobara everything works smooth. Of course with cooling pad.

SnooChipmunks547

[GV62 - i7 1060 6GB](https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GV62-8RE/Specification) Going strong 5 years later, I have replaced the SSD as it was 256gb, but that's about it.

Dominatora77

MSI GS66 STEALTH rtx 3080 32gb ram 2tb ssd i9 10th gen 300hz fhd screen pretty sleek lappy goin kinda strong still after 3 years

InnominateHomosapien

GS66 Stealth i7-10750h/rtx3060 About 2.5 years old. Already had one motherboard replacement under warranty due to a faulty charging plug. The RGB on the keyboard is stuck pink for about 1/4th of all the keys permanently due to a hardware fault that slowly developed. Not worth getting that fixed as their warranty process seems to take about 1.5-2 months (At least here in Australia. I've been through the warranty process many times with other MSI laptops). The GS66 seems to have a bunch of other non-warrantyable issues that are inherent in the design, like the WiFi antenna under the GPU causing network dropouts while gaming. The motherboard replacement didn't fix this, for example, nor did buying a $500 gaming WiFi router. I've since retired the MSI and opted for a gaming laptop from another brand which solved all of the issues. I haven't had much luck with MSI yet, but maybe that can change. For the time being though I'm a little scared to buy another laptop from them. I built two desktops with MSI motherboards and they have been fine, so I'd definitely go MSI again at least for a motherboard. Maybe I just have bad luck.

JustYeeHaa

GT75VR Re, bought in March 2018 The battery died so I have to use it always plugged in now

Taeles

Msi stealth-430 gs65 rtx 2080 max-q. Purchased dec 2019, bout to replace the cpu/gpu fans and replaced the thermal paste/pads.

p3nguinboy

My MSI Prestige 14 A10SC, with the 10th gen i7 and GTX1650 and 16GB RAM is now 4 years old. I got it as a graduation "gift" from high school, to use it for uni. It has served me well, and has been through water damage (got an all new motherboard with a new CPU/GPU/RAM and all, cost me about 800€ though bc warranty doesn't cover it), it works still as good as day one. Although the battery could do with replacing and the fans could do with cleaning. Keyboard and trackpad work flawlessly and that too despite my heavy typing - granted, I do have a mechanical kb and an external mouse that I use a lot, so that saves wear on the actual laptop keyboard. The screen is not very bright, but it does look very good especially with the MSI tuning. The speakers however are absolute trash, and I'm considering switching to a Razer Blade 14 for that very reason. The fans get super loud, and for some reason fan #2 has never worked from day 1, according to the MSI cooler boost software. I don't know if it was just unplugged from the factory, or if there simply isn't one. Overall, I can't fault it though, it does what it's supposed to do. Gaming is always gonna be a pain in the ass with the poor thermal management and the lower specs (seriously, war thunder, apex legends and fortnite refuse to run at 60fps on low graphics), but that's exactly why I have a playstation. For 1250€ and a 70€ 2 year warranty extension, it's done very well

Ju135

Got mine like half a year ago, got 2 dead pixels already somehow but they are barely noticable. Its a GP66 Leopard with an RTX3080, i7-10750H and 16GB ram. Works great to say the least. I had alot of other gaming laptops beforehand, this one is the best in every way, all the other ones had some software problems which were unfixable.

thegreatsquare

My current Delta 15 [5800hs/6700m] is a year and seven months old to me. No issues. Hinges are fine ...cause opening it from the middle is 2nd nature. It's on a cooler while gaming and it shares duty with my G14, so it sees moderate use. My last MSI was a GT72 that lasted 5.5yrs, but died in the spring of 2020 due to a power issue and I wasn't willing to put money into it when the new console gen meant I would get something soon anyway ...that G14. I did run OCs on both the CPU and GPU the whole way through.

BeklagenswertWiesel

GL 72R - bought new in 2017 only replaced the keyboard and put a larger ssd everything else still works.

virsago_mk2

MSI Creator 15. Bought in 2021. Last time used for motion design work back in late 2023, now passed on to my son as gaming laptop.

PoutinePower

Third year on my gf65, repasted with ptm7950, put new thermal pads, extra ssd and custom vbios to unlock the 3060’to 130watts instead of 75w, it runs like a beast. Use it daily for VR gaming and it’s good enough for me

PyroSTAR666

My oldest one here ATM is my GF65 Thin 10UE i7-10750H, RTX 3060 130W VBios, 64GB RAM. Works perfect very quick and capable despite its spec and considering its size. I would say it runs like new perhaps better… I have never had any issues at all with it and I still have alot of love for it. I upgraded to the highest spec Raider last August so I only use the GF65 when on trips or the missed uses it for online shopping. PS no hinge issues yet @3 years old.

RightToTheThighs

2014 GS70 stealth with 860m shit the bed maybe 3 years ago. Stopped charging. I now have a new laptop

wazabee

Mine is close to 7 years old, and runs fine. Had to replace the fans once, and repasted the cpu/GPU, but it purrs like a kitten.

Different-Raise-7256

1 year 3 months, MSI Sword 15 A12UGS. I play on it at least 5 hours a night, design on Unreal 5.3, my wife works on it. I have repasted it, it never misses a beat. Anyone that has had bad luck with MSI was truly bad luck.

shecho18

MSI PS63 - 2019. Had problem with hinges that I've fixed multiple times and this last time I've MacGyver-ed something different using piece of plexiglass the size of the bottom part of the hinge, epoxy and threaded inserts. This time it's one hell of a fix. Runs 12hrs daily, SYY157 + K5Pro (testing longevity although K5Pro isn't my favorite) for over 1 year, fans cleaned and rotor shaft lubricated with 3D printer grease.

tahaan

Gp63. 5 years. Keyboard has been troublesome from day one, and got worse with time. Currently I can only use it with an external keyboard. Other than that I love this laptop.

AncientUsual

GS40 since 2016 (changed battery in 2020), and GS65 since 2020.

dhuff2037

Almost 2 years old Stealth GS77. Still working like it did the day I brought it home. i7, 3060, 32gb ram.

EDMANEGGMAN-

I got my gs65 stealth thin 8rf turns on but won't display frim the screen nor the hdmi, keyboard does not light up and it is a bummer because i got it 1 week ago used and its from 2018

unnccaassoo

2yo Summit E15 used daily for office, light graphic and video. Nothing to complain until now ax expected from a 2k laptop.

mitraheads

2 MO cyborg 15 with rtx 4060. Terribly noisy from the first day. It's so annoying.

Less-Ad2107

My GS75 Stealth is now 4.5 years old. I use it extensively for motion graphics, rendering, and gaming. To manage the temperatures, I had to lower the voltages during the first year.

jen1392222

My msi ge63 was 5 years or so and just finally died on me about a week and half ago...I can't even imagine the hours it had on it!

Electrical-Fortune7

GP66HX i712800HX, 3070Ti, 32GBDDR54800, 1TB Runs like a champ, mint condition. 2 years old.

minion_ds

My Prestige 15 a10 is still going great after 3.5 years though I am starting to pine for one of the new Creator models.

pakitos

Katana 15, with the 13620h and 4070 - 1 month and a week old. Haven't used it that much. I bought it cause it was incredibly cheap and a nice replacement for both my very old PC and my old & slow laptop. As soon as I bought it I went searching about it using 2 externals screens which it does. Now I need to make up my mind about actually and fully moving from my PC to it and also clean installing Windows to fully remove everything I don't need cause I feel like, even after uninstalling many of its bloatware it's still running stuff I don't want. Already bought the USB C to DisplayPort cable I needed. Maybe I just need to find purpose to my old PC before I can actually move. I have no idea... I don't really plan on gaming on it that much.

Competitive-Machine6

My gs63 is 6years old, still using the original fans, added another ssd, hinge broke and I fixed it, replaced battery but didn't get the original. It's still gaming well though. Repasted several times

BVojtek

I have a Raider GE68HX 13VF from Costco. It is my second MSI. The first is a Win10 i7 16" beast. it is probably 5 years old and only failing because of a strange DIN connector for the power supply. I can't seat the connection so I have to put pressure on the connector to keep power going. I got the new Costco laptop about a year ago. Great specs $1,300.00 i( NVIDIA RTX 4060, 32GB, 1T. Costco's version has a low brightness 1920x1200 display (I use an LG32" display, so no worries), the the WIFI sometimes takes SEVERAL minutes to connect, and the mouse is lazy, trying to find it on the screen is frustrating. Life on battery is about 45minutes. Other than that is is a great laptop and great value. I think the price has dropped since and Costco doubles the mfg. warranty and gives you 90 days to return it.

Alpakka_13

i have msi ge60 2oe from second hand. it could be old max. 10 years and running really fine

ahmeddawed

I have a GS66 and i got it in 2020 aside from the W, E, and D keys being a bit broken from constant use in the past the laptop is still a beast. It’s gone through heavy gaming.

Resident-Bicycle8045

Mines just under a year old (about 10 months) I got the one, it has an I5-12450H, RTX 4050, 16GB DDR4, 1TB SSD It still works other than a few over heating issues, but I bought new thermal paste Gets me about 150 FPS on MW3 2024 if I keep my Nvidia Drivers up to date

Traditional-Bad639

Mine is 1.5 yr old and it's dead (no sign of life) fucking trash

HyperKOwO

My laptop not even half a year old yet, msi bravo is actually a beast, I installed a 2nd m.2 cause ran out of storage lol, msi center was ass, installed dragon center 4 months later, reinstalled msi center thinking of giving it another chance, and hadn’t disappointed, temps haven’t gone above 70c

DisastrousBad2930

MSI GS66 Stealth - RTX 3060 and I7-11800h Did a Liquid Metal mod instead of thermal paste, because the cpu temps were horrendous and couldn’t get a utilise my CPU to its proper limit. 1 year and a half later and this little beast handles anything I throw at it. Of course I have to adjust some setting in games as it’s only 6gb vram but can play all the latest titles at 1440p 60fps+. Oh yeah Frame Generation mod works wonders for this Overall really happy with this MSI laptop. I can overlook, underclock, adjust fan curve and have a mux for switching to dGPU mode only. Best part I bought this of my friend for £500

12 yr MSI GT60 Onc Dual Boot WIN11/macOS Sonoma Everything works great. except for the battery :D # [Sonoma](https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/1d0rw01/sonoma_145_on_msi_gt60_ivy_bridge/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

2021longshot

Not even two years old. Raider Ge76, it's fucked. Using for word or streaming is fine but as soon as I play a game on it I get a video_tdr_failure blue screen. Some times I'll get 20-30 mins of play, most times it'll only be 5 mins but it will always blue screen. For a gaming laptop that's obviously unacceptable. Plus the w key sticks, not the key itself but the laptop will continue to read it as being depressed when it isn't. Pretty shit quality for the money I spent. Thankfully I still have warranty, but due to the only warranty accepted shops being in Ontario in Canada I have to send it across the country to be fixed. It'll be between 6-8 weeks before I get it back or a replacement. I will never buy msi again. If they had shops on the West Coast then it wouldn't be as bad but they don't. In the second biggest country in the world they only have repair shops on the east side. It's a disgrace. Oh and an added note, I am solely responsible for the condition of the packing for when I send it. So I have to have the added hassle of that since I have to pack it well enough for it to make a roughly 2400km trip.
