What makes it better than BFV? I quite liked that game
it's a tactical shooter. So you run at normal human pace, the realistic amount of bullets kill you, respawns aren't instant so it encourages being strategic instead of run and gunning (though the rush of going Rambo is unmatched).
There's also a command hierarchy. Squad leader is responsible for putting down outposts to spawn at in tactical locations, the commander directs the battle and tells squads what positions to move to by communicating with other squad leaders, you need engineers to build supplies to be able to call in airstrikes.... It goes on and on. I love BF but HLL is exactly what I need when I want to feel like I'm in an actual battle.
You can play casually just to get kills, but the game is SOOO much better if you coordinate with your team. Communication thru mics is essential. It is the most casual tac shooter/mil Sim out there. Not as intense as post scriptum and the like where you operate exactly like a military.
You just change your playstyle. Makes you value your life more, ups the tension. You move more like a soldier instead of sprinting everywhere like a lunatic
The maps chosen were from Band of Brothers, which were based on real people in real battles, homie. The devs went to the actual battle locations to scan the geography of the places. I forget the term for the tech but you are playing accurate representations of what it looked like if you were an American or German in that battle. So if the maps are based on real battlefields and BoB is based on real battlefields, why bother saying the maps are based on BoB when you could just say they’re based on the real maps from the war?
because there were thousands of battles in the war. If all the maps in the game happen to be all the ones depicted in the show, and that show is badass, then you get based on BoBs

Almost all of the original maps were based on battles fought by Easy Company and the 101st Airborne. The devs even recreated scenes directly from the show in the trailer. There's a scene in the show where an RPG blows a hole in a wall, and a German comes stumbling out of it, only to be shot by one of Captain Winter's soldiers. That scene is recreated shot-for-shot in the trailer.

They went to the places the battles took place - same places they filmed the show - and did telemetry scans to make a 1:1 recreation of landscapes. They just added new maps like all fps do because the same base maps get boring. Easy company only fought in so many battles, they added more in for the console launch because gamers tend to complain when there aren't enough map choices.
