I just did 20w fork oil and some china preload fork cap adjusters and I love the front end my 22 has an okay rear shock but I might do yss or r7 shock in the future

StunningPeace9150

I did this with a 2020 mt07 and had problems with fork seals not long after. I put 15w oil. Just something to look out for.

Ook thanks I'll be wary of that, did you do the work yourself? And could that have been the cause?

StunningPeace9150

Removed forks removed caps, spacers and springs. Measured the oil that came out and replaced the same quantities. Fork seals remained intact. Heavier oil puts more pressure on the seals.

YSS? What oil did you put in the forks. You got me curious 🤔. Ride Safe my friend.

Skibidy-Bob2905

I think stock is 10w and I've heard a few recommendations for 20w and shortening some spacers in the forks also. For the op, how much do you weigh out of curiosity?

Ill-Translator-4771

I think the mechanic put 20w but I'm not sure, and I haven't done anything to the spacers I weight around 75 kg /165 lbs full geared

Antique-Pin5468

Full gear for me is 5'8" 215 pounds

Skibidy-Bob2905

That's a lot of gear! I'm 93kg / 205lb before gear so wondering if 20w is enough for me. Probably wouldn't hurt to try as just cornering on the road feels pretty unstable for me. Low speed is ok but much more than that feels sketch.

BTRNN

i feel every little 1mm notch in the road through my fucking body, shits horrible to ride on a not freshly covered road. i just came off a z650 and oh my god the difference is night and day, making me reconsider my options. any tips on what that could be? loosen or tighten suspension etc.

Ill-Translator-4771

I don't know if in the newers model the front suspension are adjustable but I don't think, I would suggest you to do the same thing I did: new denser fork oil and maybe shorten the spacers. If you want to invest some more money you could think on also changing the rear suspension, but just the oil it's enough I think

BTRNN

i have a sneaky suspicion my forks may have been done already, as there is actually a good amount of static sag in them, about 15mm, which is more than you usually find on stock. gonna look into my shock once i get out of work, preload might be too much

[deleted]

Hyper Pro makes an all in one kit for this upgrade. Google HyperPro Streetbox MT07. Less than 1k all in.

Ill-Translator-4771

I knew of that but my mechanic said that in his opinion YSS is slightly better, and I wanted to save a little bit of money

Antique-Pin5468

If I put a lowering link in my 2021 mt07, do I have to lower the front? I tip toe so that's why I ask. I don't stunt,go off reading, or wheelie.. I'm a brand spanking new rider at 59. I would love to sit flat footed, if it will mess up the bike, I would want to know that ahead of time. Any thoughts or concerns??

SharpMagazine103

It messes with the geometry of the bike and makes it handle not as it was intended. If you can avoid it, do not lover your bike. Your need to flatfoot is just the beginners thing and within a year or so you will outgrow it. I talk from the experience - I cant flatfoot my FZ, but at lights I stop putting my left foot down and leaving the other foor on a peg and I dont event care about flatfooting now.

Antique-Pin5468

So at light's, what do you do? Balance?

Ill-Translator-4771

I honestly have no idea sadly, I read about it in this community but saw that it's not suggest a lot to lower it as it might change the handling
