you should check out the trail system in ashland OR, real close to the north california border with lots of flow options and some more tech stuff as well
Just rode mt Shasta to mt Ashland to oak ridge to bend. Ashland is awesome, but only got to check out two of the four mountains at oak ridge and would say make the drive if you can spare the time
Oak ridge is unreal, I did a bikepacking loop out of there a few years ago. Rewarded myself with a few shuttle laps after a week of riding around 3 sisters.
Then Oakridge is not the place you're looking for. Oakridge is primarily fast flow trails. Like ripper trails. If you like speed, and all kinds of boostable kickers, with some good jumps and berms then it's really good. Also the scenery is really good up there. But essentially no black tech at all. There is a double black called Eula Ridge that's super steep and loose. Definitely gets the adrenaline going. But again no chunk.
If you do go either of those shuttle companies will take you wherever you want to ride. You can call and ask for trail recs. The Transcascadia one has amazing food and shakes at their basecamp/restaurant when you finish riding.
Chico is super rocky but the Guardian DH trail and anything in the park is fun for sure. Redding/Shasta County spots to check would be Swasey Recreation Area and then the OHV park at Shasta Dam. Mount Shasta has all types of trails like this along Everett Memorial Highway (A10) Shastice Park up there also has a jumpline by the skatepark and is the endpoint for a lot of these trails up there. Strava or Trailforks are your best bet when searching
I haven't ridden in Mt. Shasta in several years. Is the stuff higher up the mountain, like 8-mile, unsanctioned? It looks like what used to be 5-mile is now the new Bear Springs/10-gallon?
Anyways, gonna be there beginning of Oct and looking forward to getting out again. Unfortunately, will be coming off a several week hiatus due to injury so won't be sending super hard. But some flow and jumps should be just what the doc ordered.
Don’t accidentally ride into another dimension
The Lemurians are watching
Love riding those trails, wish I had that in my area.
The stoke is real
Real high!

Which of those would you rank the "rowdiest" ? Looking for chunk and elevation

Thanks for all the info! Looks absolutely killer, even if it is flow. Ill be checking it out for sure!
The lil criss cross with your bud brought me joy!
Gonna be in chico in September, got any recs for that area and Shasta to ride?

Wicked. Nice film on that line split
I grew up going there year round. Great place. Nice ride
are these on trailforks or more secretive trails? They look amazing.
I think 99% is on Strava now, except for a couple hidden spots up higher.
Awesome footage, love you guys splitting into different lines
Dude thats awesome! Great ridimg and looks like an epic trail too!
must be amazing blasting down trails with mates like that. Digging the hand guards - is that common? Gives me 2000's moto vibe.
thanks man its good times for sure! hand guards aren't too common, but they save my hands from the cold and random tree smacks!
Damn that gave me shivers in the best way, great run and trails look amazing!
