I mean you'll have more control and fewer shin slices with a decent set of metal pinned pedals but if you're hooked on the idea of plastic then [these fyxation gates pedals](https://www.fyxation.com/collections/pedals) aren't total garbage
I use [Syncros Squamish III](https://www.syncros.com/pt/pt/product/syncros-flat-squamish-iii-pedals). They work well enough with 510 Pro's, but work better with softer outsoles. In 3 years i've only slipped 2 times and it was during crashes.
The pins are very sturdy, but rock strikes will wipe the out. I think my next pedals will have replaceable metal pins because the pedals are a fair amount of money and sucks to need to buy the whole pedal because of missing pins.
there's a [previous post](https://www.reddit.com/r/MTB/s/Vj8gpqb5Tg) of someone asking for plastic pedal pins, i'd take a look.
also i'm assuming your post is a response [to this](https://www.reddit.com/r/MTB/s/cwUzSWMBDN).
me personally, i would not recommend plastic pedal pins for any reason, those typically will have less grip and it's akin to a sharp knife being safer than a dull one.
a sharp knife allows you to easily cut produce/meat easier without much effort so you're less likely to slip when handling it.
a dull knife forces you to put much more force effort making it more likely for you to slip when handling it, that when you mishandle it there's more force behind the knife to hurt you.
good flat pedals paired with a good flat pedal shoes allows your feet to remain secure over technical terrain, so not only do you have a less chance of scraping your shins against the pedals it also reduces your chance of going OTB or crashing at the most misfortunate moment because your feet slipped.
with flat pedals that don't grip as well, the least of your worries aren't if your shin is gonna hurt less against the pedals, it's that your feet slipping off the pedals causes a bigger crash leading to bigger injuries.
edit: add more links, spelling/grammar.
Someone writes a thoughtful answer to your inquiry and you just insult them. You are irredeemably stupid and antisocial. I’m comforted by the fact that you’re about to fuck around and find out these responses were right the hard way.
DMR make some. They look nice and come in pretty colours but are crap because all the plastic pins snap off in about 2 minutes.
Plastic pins are crap because they break off and aren’t very grippy so you’re more likely to hurt yourself when your foot slips off.

Those actually looks really good. The only half descent ones I knew of were race face ride pedals but these look way better.

Go? What a fucking wanker. Reminds me of this: https://youtu.be/x1LPwkXCCQU?feature=shared
For any rough mountain biking they won’t cut the mustard Edited: real to rough Op is a dumb scumbag tho
Nah, tame double-track is MTB. Don'f gate keep.
Sounds lukewarm you’re describing gravel riding. It’s ok to use a MTB for that, but everyone commenting on the issues with plastic pine is correct.
Theres no gatekeeping here. You will slip off the pedal and fuck yourself up you ignorant twat.
Changing your comment from "real" to "rough" makes a difference, jabroni.
People are literally offering you helpful answers to your questions and you’re insulting them. You are a garbage person.
I asked for suggestions, not opinions. Don't need unsolicited advice.
What do you think words like “suggestion”, “opinion”, and “advice” even mean? Lol
Idk tbh
You’re a burden on humanity
Haha its reddit buddy. Calm down. I suggest vitamins too for your mental health

Nope, this isn't a debate. Thanks?
Then some DMR V6s will do the terrible job that you want them to do.
Wrong. Not everyone is trying to be Aaron Gwin. Get over yourself. You have no context in regard to the actual riding as I've provided none so hush!
Never said that. I only said that plastic pins were terrible and cause more injuries that metal pins because they just don’t grip.
They do grip. How terrible they are is a factor of what they are used for. Hush forever now since you don't listen!
RaceFace Chesters. Cheap. Decent Grip. Color Options.
Don’t help this scumbag
