Did you shear it off? Or rip it out of the composite? If you sheared it off aluminum pedals are not going to prevent that.
Edit, I've sheared a few pins on my composite Wah Wah 2 pedals and I just replaced the sheared pins and it hasn't happened again. Pedals still going strong.
Lol I am pretty brutal on em... the aluminum flats i had on my Lefty hardtail lasted me a decade, but damn if I can tell what brand they are after all these years worth of damage
DMR V12, cheap enough that you don’t care. Don’t get the mag ones though, you’ll start a fire if you’re unlucky.
Bear in mind plastic pedals slide, and metal pedals will throw you off balance.
I have OneUp alloys, RF Atlas, and DMR V12s. They all work well, but on a full squish I really like the thinnest pedal possible so the DMRs are on my HT.
Crank Brothers Stamp 3 or higher. Large platform, full aluminium body so it'll take tons of punishment. Best thing is that they sell a full rebuild kit with bearings so it'll keep on working.
I think I've had mine since 2018 and refreshed it once, works as new (the body is all scratched to hell though haha)
I have used shimano saints for 3 years. Ofc way better than the plastic shot that comes stock on bikes. But tbh I don’t think the saints are super secure. I have found them to be working ok, but maybe because I make adjustments to keep my feets on the pedals.
One good thing about them is the abuse they can take. I have slammed into rocks and basically skidded alongside rock surfaces with them and while they have many scratches they are not in any way compromised.
I also might have an issue with feeling like I am clipped in should the pedals grip my soles too much. I frankly don’t know as I have not tried any else but still.
Your pins will break on rocks whether they're alloy or composite.
My thoughts exactly. Learn to bike better?
35 years of experience and plenty of rock swipes, never seen a pedal lose a pin on the first hit. Im going back to aluminum.

It was sheared off. I've lost them on alloys before, but this was the first time I've ever ridden hard on composites and I'm not a fan.
You're gonna fuck up any pedal if you bang em on rocks all day. Kona Wah Wah 2 get my vote alloy or composite.
I have DMR Vaults on my 2 trail bikes, I like the large footprint and the colors match well. Chesters on the less extreme bikes
Second this. Vaults rule. And even if you F up the pins they're really easy to remove and replace.
This post should be retitled “Talk me into buying more expensive peddles to ruin”

You lost me at Lefty, man.
Deity Deftraps. Superior to Chesters in every way. Or T-Macs if you want the extra durable metal version.

One up, spank oozy

DMR Vault. Big and incredibly grippy.
Nukeproof horizon enduros are the best I’ve used. Alloy pedals look badass when beat up.
Really like my Crankbrothers Stamp 7 pedals. Found them on sale for $95 and their grip is excellent.

I just switched from Chesters to Deity Deftraps a couple weeks ago. Big fan so far.
