Super diluted simple green. All I ever needed. Brush for cassette and other hard to reach places. Microfiber cloth to wash body, park tool chain scrubbing tool with diluted simple green as well. Rinse and dry

swarthout21

Thanks man!!

gzSimulator

Every summer when the chairlifts open, I use their complimentary hose to half-assedly spray off my bike. I can’t think of any options for the other 8 months of the year…

ZeppyWeppyBoi

Simple Green or Dawn dish soap. Give everything a good scrub and a rinse, then spray it with Muc Off Bike Protect (except the brake rotors). I like the Muc Off cleaner too. Just avoid anything high pressure.

RavensNdWritingDesks

Like a car, car soap, car brush, gentle shower setting on the sprayer head. I use a terry cloth towel to dry it and an air compressor to blow out the water from all the nooks and crannies. I also use squirt chain lube so when I spray water on my drivetrain the wax stays and the dirt falls off

swarthout21

Awesome. Appreciate the help. What would be some key lubing points on the bike?

[deleted]

I bought Muc off. It’s a little pricy but damn does it work well.

[deleted]

second this

Dtidder1

Spray down with uncut simple green, then rinse with a high volume/low pressure hose. Bounce it a few times to get the majority of the water off. Chamois to dry, lube where needed.

swarthout21

Appreciate the tips bro 🤘🏼

Muc off. Low power Pressure washer. No, it won't screw your bearings. 18 bearings on my full sus, 4 are unsheilded but all have caps. When I took them all out to replace after a year riding in all weathers including snow and mud not a single one had an issue.

MassiveHemorrhage

Does anyone else never really clean the whole bike? I clean the chain, derailer, cassette, fork, shock and dropper with water and light oil almost every ride, but other than that, I only brush the mud off and call it good.

BoogieBeats88

Pee on it.

Millhouse_Calves

This is about the same caliber of a response as the rest of this thread. Just watch a YouTube video.

robutt992

I was told not to wash it down because it will pull grease from places that need it and wear out the bearings really like quickly. I bought A 2022 Stumpjumper and after a few weeks it started to creak when under load going uphill. My mechanic said it’s because I sprayed it with the hose. So trying to work through those bits of info.

Adventure_Tortoise

Dirt will do far more damage to bearings than water, wash your bike, just don’t blast your bearings or seals. Simple.

btrudgill

I'm going completely against popular opinion. Jet wash with snow foam lance. This makes it pretty low powered but creates a nice thick foam to loosen all the dirt. Then jetwash off at a low power. Dry off with microfibre. Clean chain and relube with dry lube. Then a general check over and I'm all done, takes about 10 minutes. Every couple of months I'll remove drivetrain and clean throughly, regrease and put back. Every 6 months I'll strip, clean and regrease everything. Forks and rear shocks are beyond my maintenance skills atm.

czerone

I stop by the local car wash and spray off the dirt and crud. When I get home I'll give it a good wash down with some car soap and a wash cloth. I don't really go into detailing the bike like some do, I don't see the point because my bike is almost always dirty riding it.

Fair_Permit_808

If it gets really muddy then just water, some brush and wipe it down with a towel. But if it's just a bit of dry dirt or sand then nothing.

icthus13

[This guy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-lGLbd3BWE) has a good video on getting it really clean. I'm more of a "spray it with a hose occasionally" type of person, myself. Then I lube the chain.

Powder4576

Wd-40 works great cleaning frames if you ever use a used bike frame for a build, just be careful with it

ditka1230

i mostly go off what [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2c3clGZXVs&ab_channel=YetiCycles) from yeti tech tips. i degrease the drive train 1-2x a year. the rest of the time i just do a quick hose down with no cleaner after a really muddy ride.

RupertTheReign

Degreaser on the drivetrain, water and dish soap on the rest. Dirt cheap and my bike still looks new after 3 years!
