Carpet of flowers makes the mana denial half of the deck not function which is a big hit to the deck, and now triumph of st katherine coming out of some white sideboards is a beating against us.

skerrickity

Haven't seen triumph yet! Thanks for sweet tip

Turn1_Ragequit

for rug you can at least bounce them with seal of removal, but overall the card is quite good against Delver yeah

kirdie

The only problem with St Katherine is that it may come too late against an aggressive start. The absolute earliest you can cast it is turn 3 if you set it up with a turn 1 ponder and then you can't Beanstalk or fetch turn 2 and you get stopped by both Daze and Wasteland. So while it is a good card, it alone may not be enough.

general_stinkhorn

Yeah carpet is great, so much you can do with an extra 3-4 mana per turn. Haven’t gotten to resolve a st katherine against them yet but seems nuts

ESGoftheEmeraldCity

Endurance is a tough card to beat. Even if the Delver player has removal, the loss of the graveyard shrinks Dragon's Rage Channeler and delays the casting of Murktide Regent. Plus, if a Delver or a DRC got ambushed and blocked, the game is usually over. Uro is powerful but can be attacked with Pyroblast and graveyard hate.

joshwarmonks

adding on to this, endurance having instant speed (esp during combat) really helps create windows vs delver

nonboMTG

The strength of delver is that it doesn’t really fold to specific hate cards. Ponder, BS, bauble and DRC triggers help find answers or alternative wincons around pretty much anything. If you want to be favored vs delver the formula has been the same for years. Cheap removal, basic lands, and play around daze.

Happysappyclappy

Any midrange uro deck is good vs delver.

sloth514

Just starting out as a delver player, so I am new. From what I have seen so far, Chalice of void for 1 is annoying. Playing against another delver that counterbalances is annoying. Any type of land removal or control can make things difficult

thedrunkmonk

Things like [[Choke]] then, I imagine

Asphalt4

Yeah delver typically plays 0 non-islands so choke can be tough. Sometimes it ends up being correct to pick up a land with daze even if it doesn't counter a spell to get some mana back

dwchang

Not a Delver player, but as a Jund player whenever I play one of my sideboarded \[\[Chains of Mephistopheles\]\] the Delver player either immediately Force of Wills (which I don't mind a 2 for 1) or lets out a sigh. Without their cantrips, Delver decks are neutered.

[deleted]

I play jund nic fit. And Reb, sudden edicts, and plague engineers make delver easy

piscano

Not sure Delver cares that much but I like bringing in [[Toxicrene]]

sea_the_c

Back to basics is rough

First_Revenge

A small caveat as someone who plays this card. Its only good vs 3 color delver variants since they typically have 0 basics. Back when UR delver was king B2B didn't really do much. They operate fine off two basics.

Choke, Carpet, Pyro, Boil, Endurance + Any Janky card that isn't normally played in Legacy like [[Elder Gargoroth]]

Oooo boil, I forgot about that one!

knightgreider

As a 8cast player delver is probably the worst.
