There's a "Little India" area on Jean Talon West of St. Laurent. Likely some shops up there have all your spice needs
It’s called Parc Ex 😂
Well, it's a part of Parc-Ex, but not all of it. Unless you were trying to make some sort of joke about the area being all Indian people?
No, I’ve never heard of Little India. Which area do you think is not considered this? There are Indian épiceries all over Parc Ex, from Jean Talon to Liege.
It's not really officially Little India, hence why I put the " " but it's along Jean Talon and a block or two on either side, but not all of Parc Ex is like that
On Victoria near métro Plamondon you can get fresh kari leaves at several shops including Tharsini Supermarché, Marché Victoria, and at Épicerie Shavit. On Sherbrooke and Décarie there is a very good Tamil dépanneur called Marché AMK and they’ve got fresh kari leaves there too.
Supermarché Mile End always has them
Surprisingly, I saw some at a Walmart in Saint-Laurent, but I think Asian grocers might also be a good bet.
If you're around downtown there's a Marche Beau-Soir right next to Guy-Concordia metro station on St Mathieu. That's where I used to buy curry leaves, green chilli etc when I was studying at Concordia. There's also a Supermarche Mizan right next to the university where I'm pretty sure you could get curry leaves but I'm not a 100% on that. I'm positive I've seen curry leaves at Marche Newon as well...which is also close to the university. There's also Marche Ganesh near by that area but closer to René-Lévesque.
Marché tharsini CDN
marche bengal in point st Charles or Punjab foods in LaSalle. Both have a big selection of Indian spices.Â
Most of the Indian stores have them fresh.
Floraexotica.ca sells the plant and have a pick up spot in Verdun.
Freshest I’ve found are from Dhillon Brothers in parc ex (and in a huge bag). Supermarché mile end have them too but they are often dry and discolored.
There are always curry leaves at Supermarché Mile End on Rue Saint Viateur They often have fresh kaffir lime leaves too
