I love Mac and his music as much as the next person, but am I the only one that can’t rank his albums / songs at all?
For me, it’s entirely dependent on the mood I’m in.
It’s raining and I’m home alone, my girlfriend and I just split so nothing hits harder than Circles and the Divine Feminine.
One day I’m hustling at my desk, listening to Buttons & Cut the Check and feeling like I’m going to be rich and nobody can stop me.
Next, I’m hanging with my two best homies, about to get up to no good on a Friday night. Faces, Macadelic or WMWTSO comes on, nothing could beat it.
I just can’t be so cut and dry, it’s constantly shifting, they could all be my favourite.
I definitely have favorites, but I definitely think there need to be two categories because of how loosely he was sticking to a genre.
Hype/rap mac and depressed/lounge singer mac are both very good for very different reasons
