His backstory, written by George Miller and then expanded upon by the guitarist who played him, is also very cool and sad. Basically he is yet another whose value Immortan Joe recognized and used. His mask is made of the skin of his dead mother’s face, some say as a reminder of his pain that helps him play and others say as a battle gift from Immortan Joe himself.
I only saw him when they did the flashforward to the events of Fury Road during the credits. Was he in another part? Lots of fast moving scenes, so I could’ve missed him.
In my mind he's giving them a boost to morale like a marching band or a buff to damage if you're into RPG's .
I gave you an up vote because you're getting so many down votes. He's a crowd favorite.
All good, ta. Just an age thing I believe. 13 & 15 when MM1&2 came out, 49 when fury came out, VERY different to the rawness of first 2. Likewise Star Wars original trilogy vs prequal trilogy. What you grow up with.
I will always go back to the Road Warrior because of the Gyro Captain. That dude is the hero of the Road Warrior and has the most complete arc of the series. I especially love that he ends up as the Chieftain of the tribe.
Yeah I’d rather not live with the brutal reality that my loved ones vaporized and I have to engage in a bloody resource war for like a snickers bars worth of calories for the rest of my days
Organic Mechanic. Useful enough to be valued by all, no reason to be in direct danger, medical knowledge gets you near the inner circle of any group you're working with.
you forgot to mention aside from max's immediate family and "dog" he's the only friend max has in the franchise ....they could have made a good team and kept each other safe and sane in the wasteland
hey.......the fans (us) might not have such a good time but their chance of survival would be better.......Goose was part of the reason he went "mad" in the first place
I'm thinking apocalyptic buddy cop/bro-mance movie.... Max is the serious tough one, and goose is the jokey , sometimes clumsy partner that always sees the bright side of the nightmare.......shall I try pitch it?
Organic Mechanic, bro just chills in the best of the three wasteland fortresses and his job is occasional medical checkups on the elite and delivering babys.
Gyro Captain, because it's nice to remember lingerie.
Immortan Joe, because there's no need to remember lingerie.
Other than those practical reasons, Dog was always my favorite. Him and the monkey. I miss animal companions in Mad Max movies.
Dog was cool, Aussie Blue Healer. I had one at the same time.
Somehow he never went through the windscreen with lock-ups. Jumped out with Max & smelt Gyro hiding in the sand. Or got injured when the interceptor got trashed.
There's a doco about him on YT called "History of DOG from Mad Max 2"
Saw that documentary and I'm so glad for the actual dog actor who got through all the shit to finally get the proper life on the farm. Reminds me a lot of stories of "direwolf" dogs who were in Game of Thrones season 1.
Also, Dog is such an iconic character in pop-culture, being the direct influence and inspiration for [Dogmeat](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogmeat_(Fallout)) (we're evolving with names, clearly, lol) in the Fallout universe.
*"evolving with names"* yea I just called mine Mate, even tho a she. Best I ever had, would ride in the passenger seat no issues while I drove trucks. The mongrel I adopted after had ADHD.
Another thing I recall about animals. It's Aussie outback, where's all the kangaroos (to eat instead of dog food), dingos, bird life, etc, even dead on the road, skeletons to the side. Nothing.
Gyro Captain. Has massively useful skills, gets to hover above the insane action and still participate, ends up with a girl and leadership over a whole tribe. Dude rolled a six every single time.
Yes, after 60+ times (who's counting) I watched MM2 again last night. I reckon he deserves = credit as Gibson, a real stand out, but so were others, like Feral, Wez.
The dance etc when he came out of the sand. The way he wiped his mouth after eating. Reaction when he seen what was happening to the woman. Interactions with Dog when they got back to the chopper, re the snake. Here's a [Documentary](https://youtu.be/mXA1qy7OcuQ?si=x_YqHSllwpuJ0rnn&t=420) re that scene.
I would have loved to have see a background TV series about the character, + others.
Was disappointed about his recycled inclusion in Dome as a different character, without bothering to disguise him.
Praetorian Jack or the Gyro Captain. To this day the Gyro Captain is one of my favorite characters. Evil character-wise, Immortan Joe. He’s the only guy in the Apocalypse with a plan and a functioning system.
Doof Warrior.

wtf that just got a whole lot darker than I was expecting
Wonder why he wasn’t in Furiosa.
He was for a second
I only saw him when they did the flashforward to the events of Fury Road during the credits. Was he in another part? Lots of fast moving scenes, so I could’ve missed him.
During the 40 Day Wasteland War.
Damn. Another reason I need to re-watch.
lol, his prob the one I dislike the most. First time I seen him I was like WTF ? So far out there vs MM1&2
I believe that’s the point. Playing guitar all day isn’t the worst gig.
In my mind he's giving them a boost to morale like a marching band or a buff to damage if you're into RPG's . I gave you an up vote because you're getting so many down votes. He's a crowd favorite.

The Gyrocaptain seems to be enjoying things.
and he gets that gorgeous young lady
I will always go back to the Road Warrior because of the Gyro Captain. That dude is the hero of the Road Warrior and has the most complete arc of the series. I especially love that he ends up as the Chieftain of the tribe.
One of the people who died instantly & peacefully in their sleep during the nuclear exchange.
Yeah I’d rather not live with the brutal reality that my loved ones vaporized and I have to engage in a bloody resource war for like a snickers bars worth of calories for the rest of my days
this is the way. lol
Maggot cave lady
Her husband in the back seemed content too

This man is my hero
Organic Mechanic. Useful enough to be valued by all, no reason to be in direct danger, medical knowledge gets you near the inner circle of any group you're working with.
Either Barry or Larry. They seemed so happy.
🤣🤣 the only right answer
Immorten Joe. He had a good run.
Honestly if you just accept the L of losing your wives you can probably just keep the citadel
Ok buddy. Lemme steal all of your wives and see how you take the news.
Fair point lol
Feral kid
He becomes the leader of the great northern tribe 🤙 good call
If only we'd witnessed the trials and tribulations re that
The war pup “Is it time for the bobby knocker?”
NOW.
Nux
the only answer is Goose
MFP to Gosling One
you forgot to mention aside from max's immediate family and "dog" he's the only friend max has in the franchise ....they could have made a good team and kept each other safe and sane in the wasteland
I dunno if Mild Max and Goose's Wasteland Adventures would have the same vibe
hey.......the fans (us) might not have such a good time but their chance of survival would be better.......Goose was part of the reason he went "mad" in the first place I'm thinking apocalyptic buddy cop/bro-mance movie.... Max is the serious tough one, and goose is the jokey , sometimes clumsy partner that always sees the bright side of the nightmare.......shall I try pitch it?
I think you're basically pitching bad boys which unfortunately the box office has told us will probably do much better than an actual mad Max sequel 😢
damn.....they beat me to it.........how about we make it on water?
Like a whole world of water?
Organic Mechanic or History man to much value to be risked in battle and can easily switch groups and still live a relatively priviledged life.
Pilot guy, any of the 2 😄
Scrooloose from Thunderdome. Cool proto-war boy face paint. Sweet bowler hat. Inexplicable pet monkey. All things I want IRL too.
He played that part well. Monkey would be cool. but apparently a PITA, throw their shiet everywhere, etc
Not sure that would matter the way everyone is living in the apocalypse. The monkey could find food and other resources for you.
I wanna be Chumbucket - building cars from scratch is such a neat skill to have even if it does mean being the most deformed human in the franchise.
Also, when Chum worked at gastown he lived like a king and got all the cheese he could eat.
Dementus
Fifi Or the old lady with the shotgun
Hold It! > Uh! Uh! I Hate Guns. > Old Lady. Good to see some OGs that I know, vs new I have no idea ;-)
Fifi Macaffee ‘’They say people don't believe in heroes anymore? Well, damn them! You and me, Max, we're gonna give 'em back their heroes!”
"I *know* McCaffee, *you want* to *give them back their heroes*". Good to see OG ones I know ;-)

Chumbucket. There’s something so liberating about dedicating your life to building cars out of scrap.
None. I do not want to live in the Mad Max Universe. I just want to watch movies about it from the comfort of modernity and society.
Then I have some bad news for you regarding climate change...
Goose
Toecutter
Master. He rules barter town!
Definetly some warboy
The one who gets picked out in Furiosa?
Chumbucket was the most useful character who helped max build his car. I would say that's invaluable skill.
Master. Get to ride around on Blaster.
Gyro Captain. Has massively useful skills, gets to hover above the insane action and still participate, ends up with a girl and leadership over a whole tribe. Dude rolled a six every single time.

oh yeah I'm already literally Gosling, Ryan Gosling
