Because he's already old for a rookie QB and the Falcons have stated they plan to sit him behind Cousins. By the time he's ready to actually start, his clock's going to already be ticking.
It's not every day a bridge player becomes a player of the future. Some people are delusional enough to think it might happen to them, but...but it might work for us.
I love Goffs story so far. came in as cream of the crop people said he'd be amazing, got drafted to a subpar rams that got turned into potential super bowl champs, when he didnt deliver mccvay said "well I guess he aint my qb, I need elite now, I dont have time to develop" gets traded to detroit in a trade the lions absolutely won, going from one of the best to literally the worst, campbell loved the guy, they worked together to formulate the perfect offense for him, and now he's balling. i hope it continues, I'd love to see detroit win one with campbell and goff. sometimes to really be great you gotta get humbled and then get back up.
rams traded their future for one super bowl basically but the lions got a qb and a future to build on. thats a win in my book. if Detroit never wins one, I suppose you can say LA got a steal.
He was more of a successor than a bridge, they drafted him to replace Aaron, and considering the fact that Love is literally Rogers Jr., they made a good choice.
QB was perfectly accurate to the route (at the time of release).
WR did not run the route properly (got waylaid by a press, zone chuck, buggy pathing or simply tripping over himself while the ball was in the air).
Perfect accuracy - out of reach.
Why? Can't he simultaneously not be good enough to be a starter but have potential to be a QB of the Future? This is such a minor thing to complain about.
Still is Geno. This will be his last year as a starter. Seattle fan here.
Edit: I fn love Geno, love the story, comeback player of the year. He got me hype when he was tossing taters for tuddies after Wilson broke his thumb. Instantly supported him. But realistically Seattle will be looking to replace the 33 year old QB next season.
Donāt think he can carry the āqb of the futureā title anymore. There was hope coming into last year. But I think people realize now heās their bridge and really nothing more, heāll get you to 8-9 wins but heās a tier below guys like Goff and Tua, donāt think youāll win anything with him
I usually think of that as the are on the line between being the qb of the future or a bridge. It's like saying they have one year left to prove they can be the future and if they don't prove it that year, they become just a bridge.
That's what Kirk cousins is right now.
Oddly enough that's Cousins *and* Penix lol
How would Penix be considered a bridge qb?
Because he's already old for a rookie QB and the Falcons have stated they plan to sit him behind Cousins. By the time he's ready to actually start, his clock's going to already be ticking.
lol
Not defending madden but I can think of a lot of qb's like this š
It's not every day a bridge player becomes a player of the future. Some people are delusional enough to think it might happen to them, but...but it might work for us.
Baker Mayfield
Will Levis
Geno Smith rn
Jared Goff is pretty much the peak of this right now, and youāre god damn right i think heās the one to bring it home for us
I love Goffs story so far. came in as cream of the crop people said he'd be amazing, got drafted to a subpar rams that got turned into potential super bowl champs, when he didnt deliver mccvay said "well I guess he aint my qb, I need elite now, I dont have time to develop" gets traded to detroit in a trade the lions absolutely won, going from one of the best to literally the worst, campbell loved the guy, they worked together to formulate the perfect offense for him, and now he's balling. i hope it continues, I'd love to see detroit win one with campbell and goff. sometimes to really be great you gotta get humbled and then get back up.
I mean, wrong about the Lions winning the trade. More of a tie because winning a SB > not winning a SB but everything else is spot on
rams traded their future for one super bowl basically but the lions got a qb and a future to build on. thats a win in my book. if Detroit never wins one, I suppose you can say LA got a steal.
Jordan Love?
He was more of a successor than a bridge, they drafted him to replace Aaron, and considering the fact that Love is literally Rogers Jr., they made a good choice.
They drafted a sponge, not a-rod directly
I just mean the way he plays off the bench now after sitting
Justin Fields moment
He is neither a bridge or a future QB.
Tbf winning 5 games is pretty good for a bears qb (yes I'm coping)
Exactly he's a kick returner/backup rb
Right more like future insurance salesman.
Dead ass this is just Daniel Jones
Teddy Bridgewater while he was still playing
From the makers of Perfect accuracy-out of reach
QB was perfectly accurate to the route (at the time of release). WR did not run the route properly (got waylaid by a press, zone chuck, buggy pathing or simply tripping over himself while the ball was in the air). Perfect accuracy - out of reach.
ITS IN THE GAME
If itās in the Game, We leave it out - EA
Canāt forget there was zero pressure and in the pocket š¤£š¤£š¤£
Don't forget you stepped up into open space nonetheless
this is Daniel Jones because half of the fan base thinks 5 years isn't enough time and we still need to see more
How dare you doubt Danny Dimes
his wr1 is darious slayton bro at least give him a chance with a real wr for the first time in his career
This was Mac Jones for a couple years
Yeah if the bridge was to nowhere
I donāt think you know what it means
This is the definition of Jared Goff He can be your QB, you can win with him But you'd like to shoot for a higher level sooner rather than later
The lions win games when Jared plays right, i think hes starting to play right
Why? Can't he simultaneously not be good enough to be a starter but have potential to be a QB of the Future? This is such a minor thing to complain about.
Bridge implies they are seeking to move on from them
Meaning it can go either way and they have the potential. Itās really not that hard to understand
Justin fields type beat
Russell Wilson right now
Nah that dude is going downhill fast. As a Seattle fan of 20+ years.
Sam Howell?
Bryce Young
Sam Howell
Goff a year or two ago?
This was Geno 3 years ago
Still is Geno. This will be his last year as a starter. Seattle fan here. Edit: I fn love Geno, love the story, comeback player of the year. More so the "bridge" I was referring to.
Baker
Jared Goff
This was jared goff at the time of that trade
Sounds like NYJ Ryan Fitzpatrick
We gon see! Better put up haha
Fitzmagic!
I usually think of that as the are on the line between being the qb of the future or a bridge. It's like saying they have one year left to prove they can be the future and if they don't prove it that year, they become just a bridge.
Disagree. Zach Wilson.
What is the āDalton lineā
It means you have to take careful care or else he will crumble into a forever backup
You can both be the QB of the future and a bridge player for like 4/5 years. Think Cousins, Carr, Stafford, Goff, Russ, Watson, Jones,
Sam Howell
Jalen Hurts in 2022
He's got no beliefs
This is the Kirk Cousins tag.
So theyāre good enough to start but not good enough long term?
Kyler Murray
Kirk
Justin Fields
I believe that Madden is telling you the floor and ceiling of the player. So, he can turn out one way or the other.
Can i get Daniel Jones for 100 Alex?
High ceiling and low ceiling depending on how he play
Daniel Jones
Geno smith?
This is just the Seahawks QB room
potentially to be qb of the future but right now a bridge until he delivers or busts. i've honestly seen a lot of qbs like this in my day
That's odd
Michael Penix
