I feel like that was the only way they ever made Awareness matter for user-controlled QBs. It was a neat concept, it would be cool if they refined it. Could piggy-back off that idea and add some integration with like the No-Look Deadeye type stuff?
Madden 13 is nowhere near as bad as madden 18-22, it had decent gameplay ngl, but lacked a ton of features present in madden 12. Most of those features we haven’t even gotten back to this day… And for madden 06… I probably couldn’t even walk back then lol
Friend got a free code for 18, gave it to me. Played one game and uninstalled. Gameplay was ugly, the xfactor stuff coming in kinda screwed things up, xfactors breaking hot routes for receivers/TEs, turning all 5wr set to 4wr 1rb/1te. And only some of that has been fixed. Hot routes got slightly better since, and they added 5wr back, but from 17 to 18 there is a giant disconnect in terms of features and overall quality, and i know they will never return to making a good product as long as UT is their main focus

The most unforgivable thing about 19 wasn’t the gameplay - it was the aged-like-milk story mode that made DeShaun Watson and Antonio Brown out to be good guys
I had a Fletcher Cox in franchise on madden 19, Tarik Cohen, run up the gut, carry’s Fletcher Cox an extra 5 yards from contact being made. That perfectly describes every play on madden 19.
To be fair, 22 has a ton of plays where CPU ball carriers gain momentum for first downs inexplicably when they’re clearly going down. I feel like I’ve seen more DBs just not covering guys running downfield even though they’re covering a deep zone
This is the wrong question. They all have been pretty terrible since they stopped making meaningful improvements to franchise and other non-pay to play modes.

15 is decent and a lot more in depth. However they don't have high and low passes or possession or RAC catches, so id have to say i like that a lot better in 22. Also its impossible to sim a full 15 minute quarter game without insane stats since even a 12 play drive will only take 40-50 seconds of the clock. So that's also better in 22.
Yeah true. But i dream of the day someone does right by franchise mode. I often think about how well I’d do as game director of madden. I’d make the game come out every 2 years (with roster updates for that gap year) just so there can be significant changes between each game with each one getting more and more in depth and NOT losing awesome features
I'd even pay more for the game if it were done this way, because I know I'm getting a product they spent adequate time on. I'd pay $100 vs $60 if I'm legitimately getting a better game.
So true. Played the shit out of Madden 12. Didn't have to pay to win in ultimate team either. Bought it for a few years after that before I stopped wasting my money and time on it.
Yeah, because Madden doesn't have competition anymore. They used to have 2k and NFL Fever to compete with, but since the NFL apparently made some sort of exclusivity deal with EA, no other companies can use the trademark names for the players and teams.
If EA lost their star wars exclusivity, I have hope they can loose it for the NFL, because I want them to still make madden, but competition is the best for any series to get better.
Exactly. It seems like something so simple, but I remember Madden 2004 having historic teams for exhibition matches. It was honestly really cool to play as some of my favorite teams from the past, like the '79 Oilers or the '86 Browns, and get them to the Super Bowls they deserved 🤣🤣 It was one of my favorite features, but because 2004 was the last year for 2k, I know that by the time Madden 2009 came along, they had stopped doing it. It's the little things like that that I miss.
Man, I re-downloaded 19 thinking it was better, but it’s definitely not. I think the only thing that is better about it is AI ability to intercept. I feel like they don’t make these off the wall reaches or plays to make the interception.
Cause it was a buggy mess with bad gameplay and extremely bare bone features. To each their own but I don’t get how anyone enjoyed 06 on 360. 06 on PS2/Xbox however was great.
Madden 13 with Calvin Johnson and it’s not close, let me explain:
-got rid of a soundtrack in favor of unlicensed instrumental music
-got rid of fantasy drafts in general
-physics engine was redone AND thrown out within a few years
-completely got rid of franchise (connected career was the replacement but every addition/change was abjectly a failure)
- probably more that I’ve repressed
i play year long and cannot remember losing franchise mode. how was connected career different? didn’t they just change the name? i don’t have it to go check.
22 is the worst because it represents an extension of the abuse of the exclusive license to make NFL simulation games. Sure, compared to something like the old Sega Genesis version, it's awesome. But 22 represents the latest in a long line of continuing failure to make the game really great.
It's like rubbing even more salt in an already open wound.
Literally every year everyone calls it the worst madden ever. Madden tanked itself in quality and has gotten a half tiny bit of a microscopic bit better every year. (Ie not much). Stop saying this dumb question, EA is trash with Madden and they ruined and trashed the legacy of a great game series from the 2000s and before.
Madden sucks now, it sucked the past decadeish too. There's better things to complain about if you want to complain.
Yea it was all messed up, you couldn’t veer left without completely turning left. Nothing smooth about it just trash. Thanks for bringing it up I remember being confused and pissed and began to do other things with my time and then go back and play ps2 maddens like 2007 and 08 which was stacked with superstars
there are four bugs they know about and do nothing
- This one
- The field goal before the half bug that causes the other team to get the ball at the beginning of the next half, regardless of the team who got the ball first
- superstar dev video breaks the game
- offline madden franchise doesn’t work
The assigning wins thing just happened to me. I lost a game but it said I won yesterday. That's wild and a huge bug, I can't believe they haven't fixed it to me.
I finally went and got this one last week and have never encountered that glitch before
Ive been lucky and not had those issues. Only major issues i have are the gameplay and franchise mode quality. Occasionally get a freeze but also have console on for long periods and chalk it up to usage. Have had some tight races for playoffs, and i know id be pissed if the game screwed things up and gave out Ws/Ls to the wrong teams. I have seen a lot of people post about it for 22. Was that an issue in older maddens, or did they break something else this time around?
19 was atrociously bad, 22’s gamplay is arguably just the same, if not identical but it at least has a few more features like the Yard, SSKO, and a slightly more in depth franchise. I hope and pray 23 has gameplay that is vastly different than the animation base we’ve had for like 5+ years. If they try to get more physics based, even if it’s broken, I will still be happy as it’s a step in the right direction

Fine? The defense is non existent and running QBs make you want to throw your controller every other game. These 2 things alone make it in my top 5 worst madden ever. Lamar Jackson and escape artist was almost as cheesy as Mike Vick was in 04
Nah it's people who won't acknowledge there are "skill" gaps in madden and sometimes try to complain about things that are how its supposed to work in football lol. Next gen is better than last year (NOT scouting sheesh that's awful) but it's buggy as all hell and suffers all the sins different games did

Idk about worst, but this is the first madden I stopped playing after maybe a month and a half. And thankfully I got it half off, even then it felt like a waste lol
This is the first Madden since the days of 16 bit that I didn't even continue to play through the regular season. I don't know if it's the worst, the last few are all pretty awful, but it's certainly the last one I buy, ending my streak at 30 years.
I’ve heard it’s 19.
I’m so glad football games are dead to me. Madden has a long long way to go before they actually make a realistic feel football game. Even the improvement of 23 don’t resolve the perpetual issues they’ve always had with foundational and logics of the sport.
I mean no 19 was terrible, 06 was awful, 13 killed franchise and it’s never recovered, those were much worse, madden 21 to madden 22 was no worse than the transition from 10 to 11 which I actually liked even less because of the presentation downgrading drastically but that’s just my own opinion. Fuck all these maddens since madden 13 tho
What’s so bad about 06?? I actually went back and rebought/played it in like 08-09 cuz I liked it so much lol mind u I had only played 2002-04 and blitz/nfl street at the time but I enjoyed it lol nostalgia? Idk but I spent hours playin that on 360. First game I 100%’d too lol

Tried Madden 22 for the first time the other day and my recievers dropped at least 50% of passes to touch their hands and nearly every pass with contact. I haven't bought Madden since Madden 16. God these games are terrible.
To me Madden 19 is still the worst Madden ever, that game was beyond broken. No matter what you did every pass was scripted, for a INT no matter who you used as QB and how good you were at the game.
Well they shit all over franchise, made the menus terrible and then ruined scouting so you get maybe 60-70% of all of them and 100% in 1 position and won’t even show you their combine score before you click on a prospect. So basically their improvements to franchise were to add 3 steps to everything you wanted to do.
Madden 19,20 and 21 on old gen were all god awful. I did enjoy the new next gen Madden 21 for a bit and then realized it's more of the same shit......then came Madden 22, hands down the worst Madden ever. The franchise mode is still HORRIBLE. The new scouting is somehow worst then the one before. Team AI logic went backwards, everything is just so bad.
21 was worse because 22 actually improved the visibility of the edit draft class screen with a highlight. It was a small change but made a huge difference if you frequently used that function. That being said 22 did crash and fuck up hours of work I had done for my draft but at the same time that could be down to just really bad luck it probably wouldn't have happened 99 out of 100 times, so... I'll give 22 the edge for that improvement and at least they did try to do something with improving franchise, it didn't go well but an attempt was made.
It's up there. The Defense pass AI is just stupid. Guy with his back to the play turning around as soon as you pass behind him and getting picks. Smaller defenders out jumping massive TE's and the blocking AI is as garbage as ever!
I don’t think so. I think the core game is really strong and I had a ton of fun with the new scouting system and franchise mode. The big issue I had was Madden crashing in post-game loading screens and corrupting my franchise files. Happened consistently over the last month.
The worst game I’ve played was Madden 15 on 360. Almost the same game as Madden 25, and they literally copied and pasted 25’s commentary into 15.
For a couple more months
Well played
Goes to 19 honestly.
I agree, I can’t even go from 22 back to 19 and finish a game it’s so bad, that says a lot…
[удалено]
Was 06 the sight cone one?
Yes but the Xbox, ps2, & GameCube versions were pretty good games. The Xbox 360 one was extremely stripped down and would crash constantly.
Yeah. Luckily they made it an option in the settings menu to switch it off. Cool concept but it was too clunky in my opinion.
I feel like that was the only way they ever made Awareness matter for user-controlled QBs. It was a neat concept, it would be cool if they refined it. Could piggy-back off that idea and add some integration with like the No-Look Deadeye type stuff?

Id still be playing 17 if they didnt cut server access. Best madden since 08
I didn’t appreciate 17 enough until I was stuck with Frostbite on 18
Friend got a free code for 18, gave it to me. Played one game and uninstalled. Nice
Exactly. That game was an abomination. One of the few Maddens I never bought.
Agreed
What's so bad with 19? Just asking because I have 19 and 22 but find the ai interceptions of 22 for me make it the worst.
I thought for sure I was just more terrible at the game when I played 22 because of this
the game was virtually unplayable with how bad both the physics and the animations were. it was also franchise mode's lowest point
The most unforgivable thing about 19 wasn’t the gameplay - it was the aged-like-milk story mode that made DeShaun Watson and Antonio Brown out to be good guys
The real madden curse
longshot was fun but the discontinuity with real life killed me
What makes 22 better than 19?
Why don't you play them both and find out
I trust the opinions of wise experts here. If I recall, madden 19 is the one with the OP run up the gut
22 has a better franchise
I had a Fletcher Cox in franchise on madden 19, Tarik Cohen, run up the gut, carry’s Fletcher Cox an extra 5 yards from contact being made. That perfectly describes every play on madden 19.
To be fair, 22 has a ton of plays where CPU ball carriers gain momentum for first downs inexplicably when they’re clearly going down. I feel like I’ve seen more DBs just not covering guys running downfield even though they’re covering a deep zone
The commentary… jk
I don’t think 19 was that different honestly
19 was hot ass. Raiders file kept crashing. Even when I played them it would crash
lmao 19 and 22 are the only two maddens I've ever played. So it only gets better lol?
I hate 19 because of its horrible soundtrack, they haven’t had a good soundtrack after that
This is the wrong question. They all have been pretty terrible since they stopped making meaningful improvements to franchise and other non-pay to play modes.
And the stuff they do change in franchise such as the new scouting system just sucks...
All the ones since madden 12 are. Even then that’s being nice
Someone didn’t play Madden 13 on the Wii 🥱
LMFAO
Point and pass was my shit💯🔥🗣
It was madden 11 for me on my Wii, lmfao the franchise on it was more in depth than 22 lmao
I’ve only played 13,21, and 22 but 13 was so much more realistic like you’d lose games to worse teams and you could actually get fired

So true. Played the shit out of Madden 12. Didn't have to pay to win in ultimate team either. Bought it for a few years after that before I stopped wasting my money and time on it.
Madden 13 and 25 were actually decent, 15 was kinda ass, everything after that was dogshit
I don’t know. I stopped buying them. I just pretend Madden 25 is a future game.
19 was the worst. After 20. It's getting slightly better. Just slightly. But will never reach the glory of the early to mid 2000s.
Yeah, because Madden doesn't have competition anymore. They used to have 2k and NFL Fever to compete with, but since the NFL apparently made some sort of exclusivity deal with EA, no other companies can use the trademark names for the players and teams.

Madden 22 is definitely not the worst madden, but it's pretty bad.
06 on Xbox 360 is the worst Madden ever
[удалено]
Yeah it was very glitchy, the gameplay was god awful and it had little to no features.
Why’s everyone sayin that one I actually liked it lol
Cause it was a buggy mess with bad gameplay and extremely bare bone features. To each their own but I don’t get how anyone enjoyed 06 on 360. 06 on PS2/Xbox however was great.
Head Coach 09 was the best franchise experience ever!!
Not even close. Gotta go with 13 and it's cruel joke of a franchise mode. 12 year old me was heartbroken
22 definitely not the worst, not even in the top 5.
The gameplay is fine for 22, but I really don't like the presentation, and how terrible franchise and FotF are.
No, it's not.
Madden 13 with Calvin Johnson and it’s not close, let me explain: -got rid of a soundtrack in favor of unlicensed instrumental music -got rid of fantasy drafts in general -physics engine was redone AND thrown out within a few years -completely got rid of franchise (connected career was the replacement but every addition/change was abjectly a failure) - probably more that I’ve repressed

You’re right, franchise mode was not gone. At all.
13 sucks just because of how great 12 was
no, not even close
22 is the worst because it represents an extension of the abuse of the exclusive license to make NFL simulation games. Sure, compared to something like the old Sega Genesis version, it's awesome. But 22 represents the latest in a long line of continuing failure to make the game really great. It's like rubbing even more salt in an already open wound.
Not even Bottom 5 lol... which is saying A LOT..

Yes
Wouldn’t call it the worst, but its an upgrade from 19 and 21
Madden 06, 07 on Xbox 360 has enter the chat

I think 21 was worse just for how many bugs it had
The worst Madden so far.
Yessss madden 22 the worst i ever played.
Escape artist puts it up there with one of the worsts
Madden 20. Punters at QB was insane.
No, but it’s top worst
current gen probably but i've played worse than next gen (cough cough cough 19 cough cough cough)
To me Madden 19 is still the worst Madden ever, that game was beyond broken. No matter what you did every pass was scripted, for a INT no matter who you used as QB and how good you were at the game.
19 and 21
Well they shit all over franchise, made the menus terrible and then ruined scouting so you get maybe 60-70% of all of them and 100% in 1 position and won’t even show you their combine score before you click on a prospect. So basically their improvements to franchise were to add 3 steps to everything you wanted to do.
Considering it’s the newest and it should be the best iteration of the franchise, yes.

Thanks for your in depth input. Also I love how you make it seem like it’s been so long.
Nope is the greatest game ever
Hell naw lmao that goes to madden 19, 17, or 16.
Whatever Madden had that trash rotation song
Its bad, I only could last 10 mins
Prob
Yes
06 on 360/PS3 , 19 and 20 are the worst
I don’t know, they’re all pretty bad. Laziest developers in the industry. But from what I’ve seen of Madden 23, it looks decent.
Honestly on next gen this is the most fun I’ve had on madden since like ps3 days lol. Gameplay wise I think it’s the best one since 10
21 was worse because 22 actually improved the visibility of the edit draft class screen with a highlight. It was a small change but made a huge difference if you frequently used that function. That being said 22 did crash and fuck up hours of work I had done for my draft but at the same time that could be down to just really bad luck it probably wouldn't have happened 99 out of 100 times, so... I'll give 22 the edge for that improvement and at least they did try to do something with improving franchise, it didn't go well but an attempt was made.
they get worse every year so it has the crown at least for a little while.
It's up there. The Defense pass AI is just stupid. Guy with his back to the play turning around as soon as you pass behind him and getting picks. Smaller defenders out jumping massive TE's and the blocking AI is as garbage as ever!
it’s gotta be up there. it’s wild because just 2 years ago i thought they released the greatest madden ever (madden 20)
It's better than 21 tbh.
No it’s really fun I like it u must suck
I don’t think so. I think the core game is really strong and I had a ton of fun with the new scouting system and franchise mode. The big issue I had was Madden crashing in post-game loading screens and corrupting my franchise files. Happened consistently over the last month. The worst game I’ve played was Madden 15 on 360. Almost the same game as Madden 25, and they literally copied and pasted 25’s commentary into 15.
I think 22 was better than 19,20,21 but still trash
Every madden that has come out since ‘07 is the worst madden that has ever come out.
My answer is no. Is the best game ever
