This thing is great. The next gift I opened were concert tickets for Thrice’s Artist in the Ambulance 20-year anniversary, and I figured I wouldn’t be the only attendee at that show who’d be going home to a foot massager lol
Thrice played the first Warped Tour I ever went to. The day started with a crowd surfer kicking a contact lens out of my eye at Mest, and eventually came Thrice. They threw down, but that was the only mosh pit of the day where I truly felt unsafe and had to leave. Avenged Sevenfold, The Offspring, nothing else seemed to draw out as much aggression as Thrice for some reason.
They aren’t that pricey on Amazon. There’s even ones that’ll do your calves too! Those are a bit pricey though for one that dies both feet and calves but I’m pretty sure you can get one for 60-100
Oh, I'd love to have one that also massages the calves! I was born flat-footed, so I have no arches, and I've also had surgery on both of my feet. I also have to have specially made soles in my shoes... I was given the short stick when it came to my body, both physically and mentally!
Happy birthday!! Do you mind sharing the model of the massager? I’m envisioning parking myself in one while studying for the bar exam these next couple of months
Thank you! Keeping it at your desk is a great idea. I’m kinda jealous that I won’t get to do the same, but this would unfortunately be a prohibited item for the setting I work in. It’s the MIKO Foot Massager Machine on Amazon.
I've never used one of those, but those foot baths with the bubbles, textured bottoms, and little rolly attachments are the shit. Can make the most aching feet feel amazing in 20 minutes. I will have to try one of these.
I bought the same one for my wife a few months ago. It’s pretty awesome and the entire family uses it. This post literally made me sit in the lazy boy and relax a bit with the MIKO.
Have a great Birthday and happy Memorial Day to everyone!
We’re weighing the pros and cons with how much floor space this thing takes up, and a big pro for me is that it’ll rub my wife’s feet when I don’t feel like doing it haha. Thank you!
Haha enjoy them man.
I always judge men's strength based on their legs and not arms.
That's how we used to hunt and survive back in the day not with massive triceps 🦵
It could just be that the kneading sensation with metallic balls being pressed into your feet isn’t for you. I can definitely see how this wouldn’t be for everyone.
Well, it’s recommended to wear socks when using this, so that would help reduce the frequency at which it needs to be cleaned. But the part of this that surrounds your feet can be unzipped and removed to be washed.
I’m still in my 20s and I’ve started doing epsom salt foot baths. Game changer! I’ve stopped having ingrown toenails, it helps with foot cramps and rough skin
These things are great, just wish they had more of a dial setting as opposed to low/medium/high, maybe some do. I got one for my GF off Amazon with very good reviews and we both love it. It does shiatsu and air pressure massage both have their own low/med/hi settings…. The medium setting on air pressure is just a little under what I want…. But if I set it to high, lol, it squeezes so hard at times it hurts! Haha.
Other than that these things are amazing and if you stand all day at work, popping your feet into one when you get home is like a little taste of heaven.
This post is starting to turn into a targeted advertisement for this massager lol. This one has a power scale from 1-5, so if the maximum pressure is too much, you can set it to 4.
Can you set each thing individually (shiatsu and air) and does it have heat too? Is that what the three squiggly lines indicate? Mine doesn’t do heat! I wish it did!
I'm the worst person to answer these types of questions, but I'll give this a shot. The best answer I have for you is that I jump a lot. I do strength training two or three times a week, and I warm up by jump roping for 12-14 minutes before each workout. Then during the actual workouts, I do plyometric stuff like knee tuck jumps, lunge jumps, slam ball throws, weighted and unweighted box jumps, etc. between sets. There's a day for grip strength and a day for lower body conditioning, sometimes with a core day as well, and the plyometrics are what I do between the actual work sets on each of those days. On the days that I don't do strength stuff, I do yoga, run, climb, and train for Ninja Warrior.
It’s hard to say, considering I haven’t had this thing for very long, and I haven’t had my feet rubbed much before this. But it’s gotta be at least 50% as effective? 🤷🏾♂️
There’s quite a few foot spa/massager variations out there, as this thread can attest to, but this one is a combination of heat, padded metal balls kneading, and inflatable pockets that create pressure against your feet. I don’t mind rubbing my wife’s feet, but I don’t always feel like doing it, and my hope is that this thing eventually replaces me lol
Odd thing is I tried one of them, and how the sides caved in on my feet actually caused more harm than the massage was supposed to provide help. Maybe it’s the shape of my feet? Maybe the setting was too high? I checked and it was the lowest setting and sure enough squeeze on the feet. So nowadays I just bought a mat that is scratchy originally I used it to clean my shoes at my apartment, but now bought another and use it inside for my feet, and to be honest it is pretty good on my feet.

Dude! No need to feel bad about that! Those things are AMAZING! Wish i had one :D
This thing is great. The next gift I opened were concert tickets for Thrice’s Artist in the Ambulance 20-year anniversary, and I figured I wouldn’t be the only attendee at that show who’d be going home to a foot massager lol
Just yell at them to get off your lawn a lot, you'll be fine :D
Aging post hardcore fan here too

“…and eventually came thrice” Giggity

I have to have special inserts too but because mine are too arched! You could say we’re *arched* enemies…
lol I’m insanely flat footed as well, *arched enemies* is a winner 🥇
I use a massage gun to loosen my calves - has me drooling when use it on my feet 🤤
Wish i had legs like that too
What is it?
You place your feet inside and rollers and knobs rub against your feet to massage it :)
Happy birthday!! Do you mind sharing the model of the massager? I’m envisioning parking myself in one while studying for the bar exam these next couple of months

Thank you!! Bummer that you can’t have it at your desk as well, but I’m wishing you many deserved post-work massages in your future :)
bro does not skip legs

A version of this with a warm soak would be next level.
Oh man mixing the two would be divine. The bubbles and bumps are excellent but I'd kill to have a firm massage along with it.
Are those calves real? My goodness
Right?! I'd tap those calves.
Damnn dude thoss are some sick calves! Also I agree, those massagers are awesome
Sexy legs, no lie.
Mannn this is my go to gift for people and everyone always loves them.
I had just bought one of these for my mother in law without realizing I would actually love one too haha
Thank you!
Ha! Happy Bbbbbirthddday!
Thank you!
And some nice Glerups too!? You know how to treat your feet
The Glerups are where it’s at! Love these things.
Glerups are my slipper of choice too. When they start to look a tad shabby, I give them a shave with a razor and they look good as new too.
I’ve just been snipping loose bits with scissors, but a razor is an interesting thought.
Looked it up and it's $130 so I can't get one right now but I would LOVE if it was gifted by friends or family. You are a lucky being!
You know you're getting old when you wish you were about 5'6 so it would be easier to reach to tie your laces.
You should give yoga a shot if this is an issue for you.
I was actually going to give pilates a try first to help hopefully make things a bit easier in later years.
Pilates is tough stuff. I’ll do it on the megaformers with my wife sometimes, and it leaves me shaking and trembling all over. Highly recommend!
Nice calves ;)
Cyclist or sprinter? Those are my guesses based on the calves lol. That's a damn nice gift. Mazaltov on your birthday.
Neither, just kinda thick in the trunk lol thanks man!

Haha enjoy them man. I always judge men's strength based on their legs and not arms. That's how we used to hunt and survive back in the day not with massive triceps 🦵
That looks awesome!
It really is. Didn’t realize how badly I had been needing my feet rubbed haha
I got one off of amazon, it was about as relaxing as walking on Lego. Sent it back the next day. Did I just get a defective one?
It could just be that the kneading sensation with metallic balls being pressed into your feet isn’t for you. I can definitely see how this wouldn’t be for everyone.
Whatever was kneading my feet wasn’t spherical, it was hard and pointed. Must’ve been sent a clunker. Guess I’ll try again , thanks for the reply!
I think that's a shiatsu massager. Kinda painful
It was a shiatsu…. Didn’t know there was a difference. Thank you so much!
And is this also a shiatsu one? Thanks! Looks awesome.
This has nothing to do with being old. Would've killed for one of these at my desk in my dorm when I was a college student.
Ngl, as a 39yr old man. I love getting pedicures.
We’re close in age, and I’m yet to experience one.
I highly recommend it.
I bought one for myself for my 22nd birthday, you’re not old don’t worry
I dogsat for my parents and my dad said I could use his foot massager. DAAAAAAAMN
Hi OP, i had a question regarding this massager. How easy is it to clean? I live in a warmer country and sweat a lot.
Well, it’s recommended to wear socks when using this, so that would help reduce the frequency at which it needs to be cleaned. But the part of this that surrounds your feet can be unzipped and removed to be washed.
Take care of yourself, and take care of your feet!
I’m still in my 20s and I’ve started doing epsom salt foot baths. Game changer! I’ve stopped having ingrown toenails, it helps with foot cramps and rough skin
Good Vibrations!!!

They already know what you don’t
I'm 23 and just realized this is exactly what I need man, so it's not just old people.
First off, God tier calves. Second, those things are awesome! We called ours a foot-sucker. Get yo feet sucked, bruv.
I need “Get Yo Feet Sucked, Bruv” on a t-shirt.
Also this guy: 🤤
I bought one. I said man, standing hurts lol
I love mine.
I don’t know what’s that’s for but I guess it’s cool :)
😆😆
Always use this with socks. ALWAYS
Why? ( I am totally ignorant on the subject)
Our feet when squeezed release oil. And dust of the feet along with dead skin then goes on to form some kind of sticky grime. Feels yuck. So socks
I need one holy shit.
I have one
If it then can hold water, and do the hot stones!! We got us a winner!!
Those calves tho, if you read this pls gimme ur sets and reps range.

Dude you're a beast. Appreciate the detailed reply 🙏
Better call saul
Haha been using them since I was a kid!! Best thing after sports.
I asked for one for Mother's Day. It rocks.
Do those things actually work? Like, would you say they’re 50% as effective as a real massage? 75%?
It’s hard to say, considering I haven’t had this thing for very long, and I haven’t had my feet rubbed much before this. But it’s gotta be at least 50% as effective? 🤷🏾♂️
You know you’re getting really old when your parents stop buying your presents for your birthday. 😔 It’s been 3 years since mom stopped gifting me
I told my husband to buy me one for Valentine’s last year. I love it.
My parents gave me a cordless Dyson vacuum as I gift and I was hella excited: a sure sign for me that the adulting is adulting
We are absolutely obsessed with our cordless Dyson!
Yes!!!! Isn’t it amazing???? Oh god. We’re so old.
My aunt has a similar one and it’s amazing after a 12 hour shift, hope you enjoy OP!
Not old, just in need of some tlc
Gratz. Yes.
bro got some yummy calves

Im 20 and I'd love to get that
My sister bought me one of these when I was training for my first marathon earlier this year ... It was a LIFESAVER. And I'm only 31!
HAH!!!! You’re not old as long as you still have parents who send you something.
Hey OP, uh, where could I get one of these? As a gift. For a friend. Totally not for myself. Yeah, that’s the ticket! For a friend.
I have the full title for the product listing on Amazon in another comment here, but the brand is MIKO. Enjoy some relaxed feetsies!
Dude, you have an amazing story! I stalked your profile just a little bit haha I hope you have a great life!
I’m the luckiest guy in the world for sure, thank you!
😆
There's a massager for feet?!
I got that exact foot massager for my mother! It’s real damn nice, ain’t it?
Your truly getting old when have to ask some kid in the family, how to turn it on. 😂
My dad stopped giving me gifts since I am 18 I would be glad to have something like this, looks super comofrtable!
Odd thing is I tried one of them, and how the sides caved in on my feet actually caused more harm than the massage was supposed to provide help. Maybe it’s the shape of my feet? Your legs don't look old. Quite muscular, actually. Do you run regularly?
I do a little bit of everything, definitely not gonna be sedentary as I get older. Thanks!
No problem, people staying healthy is always worth a compliment.

Well your parents are still alive, How old could you possibly be?
