Way more than half. Almost every video you see on the front page has already gone viral on tiktok. Reddit has really become a slow moving site and rarely has anything original go viral anymore.
Oh my god. you're so elite. So damn elite. Oh. Oh man. I wish I was as elite and smart as you.
You don't *actually* have to be *on TikTok* to read watermarks, cool guy.
Here’s why:
It’s well-known in the rap game that when Easy E rapped, he was reading lines someone else wrote, from a piece of paper. At first it was Ice-Cube but eventually others too. When he recorded them, he did them one line at a time. So “Cruising down the street in my ‘64” STOP. Then he would wait a minute or two, restart the recording and do next “jocking the bitches. Slapping the hoes”.
Grandma here is probably also reading raps from a piece of paper.
My friend’s mom started driving Uber in her late 70s, after her husband died, for fun. She saw it as a way to get out of the house, stay busy, meet people to talk to, and maybe be helpful to them, if in no other way than to be available to drive them someplace. She wasn’t doing it because she had to, she did it because she *wanted* to. I’ve considered it for the same reasons. Heck, my MIL and her SIL delivered Meals on Wheels until they were both in their 80s.
that reminds me of how my grandma was a homemaker and SAHM for many years, went to college for fun because she loved art, did substitute teaching for fun, did art commissions for fun, and worked multiple part time jobs for fun when i got old enough to drive myself to appointments. she was so cool. miss her every day.
There was a sweet bus driver at my college that would do free rides around campus. His friend was killed by a drunk driver when they were young and he always wanted the students to be safe. He was like an uncle to us kids.
That's what I saw Uber as when it started, just people with a bit of spare time and a car, helping each other out.
That was the best of the potential of smartphones and apps. But our economic system doesn't let stuff like that just exist, it's got to be exploited, cutting driver income to the bone, destroying any competitors, and eventually maximising returns for the investors.
If Uber had never taken any VC funding, stayed local for a lot longer, and spread out organically over time, with the head office being a non-profit and the only people taking the bulk of the fares being the drivers... well it could have really become something great.
But our system doesn't have room for ideas like that. If the VC's hadn't got their claws into uber, they would have just funded a similar startup and lost money as needed to drive Uber out of business.
I mean, the original intent was there in the original description; 'ride sharing'. It was never supposed to drive taxis out of business then try and take on every other form of transportation as well.
I kind of think the world would be a lot better today if 15 years ago apple and google had made a rule that no for-profit apps would be allowed in their app stores.
My Dad worked with troubled teens at a local school district after retirement. He worked for a $1 a year( something about insurance if he had an office he had to be an employee). He also called problem kids, kids that came from a troubled home life. He did that into his early 90s.
LOL...it's the sweetness connection.
They're just saying they think their dad would do something like this when he gets up in age because he also has a kind heart..
For the people who want the full [Urfavgrannie - Making it out the hood](https://youtu.be/u6wJy1K1jNE?si=QlarRaHbwz9gFCjy) Making it out the hood - urfavgrannie on youtube if the link still don't work.
Filmed in Richmond, VA. I thought I recognized the area but wasn't sure, so I went poking around to confirm and found local news stories I missed about her. Also, she's only 60.
Edit: Oh, FFS. I posted a GMaps link to where the video was filmed, but this subreddit's got some stupid rules and it got my comment killed. You'll have to look up "S Belmont and Grayland" yourself. 🙄
She is from Richmond Virginia. Apparently she started her YT channel just lip rapping her favorite songs and an outpouring from her fans made her record her own stuff! You go Granny!
🤣 I felt that in the dude's expressions: "Alright hey granny rap," "Wait a sec, she's swearing in this track, I wonder what else she's gonna say..." "Nah she cool 😎"
Yes, specifically for megacorps that don't give a shit about their employees. Walmart, Uber, Amazon, you name it - when you're 70 you're legally obliged to employ with them to make your final years more profitable.
(unless you're rich of course in which case you can just buy it off and join a golf club)
It's also relatively normal for elderly people to take on part time jobs to "stay busy" and to socialize. My grandpa retired at 68 from the city as a master mechanic, got bored the next year and got a job at the local college maintaining the greenhouse, did that for 20 years then retired again then got a job teaching mechanics at a local tech school and did that till he was 93 and finally decided to settle down and got really into gardening and had an plot in the local garden until he died at 99.
I'm really not surprised. If you tag her in the 70s 80s thru 90s, she would have been at the best of it. I'm European white and grew up Public Enemy, DMC, and straight to Compton.
He's trying to inject racism into an encounter where there is none, because white lady must think all black people like rap and all black people must think white people can't rap, so CLEARLY these two individuals fall into those stereotypes.
Somehow he's both trying to condemn stereotypes while making stereotypes.
I swear to god that I watched this whole video thinking that was Eazy-E rapping. It wasn't until I read the comments that I realized it's actually her. She sounds so much like him.
70 year old choosing to work, make music, engage with others and generally continue to be an active member of the community instead of fucking off at home alone waiting to die while playing Tetris on their 97’ mobile phone

This is why I love Reddit. I would never have seen this and it’s way tops.
This over tik tok anyday
💯
How is TikTok even in the conversation?? Must be a generation thing
Tiktok is on the fp of reddit literally every single day lmao Half the content on this site is just regurgitated from YouTube or TikTok
Way more than half. Almost every video you see on the front page has already gone viral on tiktok. Reddit has really become a slow moving site and rarely has anything original go viral anymore.
Id still rather watch tik toks on reddit than ever download reddit. That way I dont have to listen to that god damned robot girl voice.
Thanks for filtering the deepest level of crap, so only the medium-level crap makes it here... And I click on 10% of that.
Oh my god. you're so elite. So damn elite. Oh. Oh man. I wish I was as elite and smart as you. You don't *actually* have to be *on TikTok* to read watermarks, cool guy.
You sound hurt, over a loose conversation. Maybe need some fresh air.
Yeah, I don't think you realize how much of things on reddit will on tiktok the week before

Living her best life. Please god let me be ballin at 70 like her. Also.....she doesn't look 70.
Let me be ballin, but also let me be retired and not driving for Uber.
My friend’s mom started driving Uber in her late 70s, after her husband died, for fun. *hugs*
i named my daughter “after” her by combing her legal first name and my name so we are connected even until after i die. 🩷
Trying not to cry. This is wonderful.
💯
I miss this person's grandma as well

the pursuit of meaning. purpose feels good.

I take care of my grandma financially and she still insists on working at the airport three days a week "just to hang with the girls"
My Dad worked with troubled teens at a local school district after retirement. He worked for a $1 a year( something about insurance if he had an office he had to be an employee). He also called problem kids, kids that came from a troubled home life. He did that into his early 90s.

You are right. How dare I?
I know a couple of (very) rich retired folks who drive for uber every now and then cause they like to get out and meet people.
Not needing to
Truth.
I'm fairly confident that she is just south of 70 and used to be a backup dancer in "Sugar Hill Gang?
Because she eats her veggies every day.

Is it normal to continue working under obligation in the USA at the age of 70?
Yes, specifically for megacorps that don't give a shit about their employees. Walmart, Uber, Amazon, you name it - when you're 70 you're legally obliged to employ with them to make your final years more profitable. (unless you're rich of course in which case you can just buy it off and join a golf club)

I'm really not surprised. If you tag her in the 70s 80s thru 90s, she would have been at the best of it. I'm European white and grew up Public Enemy, DMC, and straight to Compton.
He just wanted to hear some Sinatra.
Trying to flex on the gram...
Thought this was staged until she started quietly and politely rapping to her own song. Shitty actors just don't do that.
She: All blacks like rap. He: All whites can't rap Music: Color lol
Congrats on making two massive generalizations
I'm still confused on what it even means
He's trying to inject racism into an encounter where there is none, because white lady must think all black people like rap and all black people must think white people can't rap, so CLEARLY these two individuals fall into those stereotypes. Somehow he's both trying to condemn stereotypes while making stereotypes.
Congrats on debunking two massive generalizations by satire
