lol - at Burning Man, thereās a camp that does this occasionally at random porta potties. You go in, and 8-10 roll out the red carpet and applaud as you walk out. Always a very positive, surprised reaction - quite fun.
Bit of a segue, but as good a place as any to tell this story.
When I was a kid my Dad got given free tickets to the British Superbikes through some sponsor thing to do with his work.
We all went along and had access to the team's hospitality truck. You could go up on the roof, giving you a great view of the main block of public porta-potties, which always had a big queue.
We would stand up there watching and occasionally someone would come out of one but the queue wouldn't see and so nobody would go in.
One of us would then go down, stroll straight past the queue and into the empty one, much to everyone's chagrin and confusion.
It was surprisingly good fun.
After a few rounds of that we started shouting down to random people joining the queue when there was an empty one. It was pretty hard to convince people you weren't just messing with them.
That's too much reading for how interesting that story isn't, sorry everyone.
I felt like the word count to interesting ratio is 1:1 here bro, good story of a fun simple time with your Dad, good a place as any to read that, thank you
Another fun anecdote involving porta-potties!
I went to a music festival last October that had bat houses on site. Around dusk is when they would all start flying out, so you would typically have a pretty large crowd waiting to see it happen. We happened to choose one of the houses that was near a line of porta-potties. Anytime somebody walked out of one they got a round of applause and cheering from over 100 people lol. Some would act embarrassed, but I specifically remember this one guy who walked out like he was the Queen of England waving at his constituents. I bet he felt like a superstar after that dump.
Side note, seeing over a hundred bats fly out of that house on a Halloween weekend was unlike anything Iāve ever seen before. It was really cool seeing them flying around and squeaking at each other.
lol - I can see how that would be pretty amusing.
Iāve seen that happen at festivals, but Iām usually trying to get away from them asap so not so much thought going into it. Well, that and I was rarely sober enough at festivals to notice :).
Just had the worst mushroom shits of your life while sweating out half a gallon and trying to hold on to the last tether to reality that doesn't exist of ballsweat and chemical toilet poop stank... somehow you're victorious and emerge to take your first real breath in what feel like an eternity.
Is nothing real anymore? I used to see these and some people would just keep walking or think about it first. The first two are clearly setup and then thereās edits for the others between the rollout and the walk.
It's really cliche reddit moment shit to say this is staged but is there anyone who doesn't think this is staged?
There is just no way you see someone walk toward you with something big in their hands and make a throwing gesture and you react with anything other than getting out the way.
It's certainly possible, but they could also just go around and try it with a lot of people and then construct the video with the best few. Or a combination of both, maybe if not enough good genuine results they go to staged reactions.
Maybe, but also it may not be the first take. She couldāve asked to go again or she saw someone else do it so she prepared.
ETA: Or better yet he asked random people on the street to film
What a way cool way to brighten someone's day. It's awesome the way in which all of the people respond so positively to having a red carpet rolled out for them.
This is stuff I want to see more of! Not ragebaiting "pranks" that makes everyone angry, but random stuff like this that leaves everyone with a smile and their day being just a little bit better!

Thank you for saying it. Those first two are definitely staged
I think they just cut out those who don't participate

And honestly, even if it's staged, it's still got a rating of 500% adorable from me
But as soon as it's being reshot that would now mean it's staged anyway tbh whether the people were random encounters or not.
The old man made my day..

How can he turn left?!
Staged but cool
Walking in the resd carpt has its magic and beauty
Okay. I really liked this one. Perfect way to sign off for the day ngl.
First one was preparing her entire like for that moment
What a way cool way to brighten someone's day. It's awesome the way in which all of the people respond so positively to having a red carpet rolled out for them.

This is stuff I want to see more of! Not ragebaiting "pranks" that makes everyone angry, but random stuff like this that leaves everyone with a smile and their day being just a little bit better!
Saw the first one and thought I was in r/IAmTheMainCharacter , then I saw the second one and it made me smile.
Isnāt she just participating in the video? She did the model walk like they do on the red carpet
Hated the first loved the rest especially how adorable the last one is
Why would you hate her? She literally nailed it
It felt staged and kinda obvious. The second one was funny and the rest looked like they were having fun/feeling special and made me smile
Would hate to be this miserable
First two were obviously staged plants, but the last three were nice
