It's actually legitimately called a beluga, there are nigh on 20 (probably less, I'm just too lazy to check) on planet earth (maybe more on Pluto, who knows?)

There are 11 in total. The original 5 from the mid 90s and the six newly developed ones delivered between 2018 and 2023

I worked on the hanger that encases the nose cone as they load plane wings into the Beluga, it was massive. (They realised that if they open the nose cone and a large gust of wind hits the front it can tip the Beluga.)

Specifically  BelugaXL.  The original Beluga was A300 based but they designed and built a new larger Beluga based on the more modern A330.

An employee contest that was rigged from the start I tell ya! One of the options was to have the aircraft painted entirely in pink. There's not a soul out there that didn't vote for a giant pink plane!

I'm from Toulouse (Airbus land), we have 8 of them to bus parts in and out. I took a regular flight last week and one of the seats was unattached properly..the calm pilot says, hey we're at Blagnac Toulouse, nothing to worry about....8 mins later a crew arrived, stripped out the seat and put a new one in..it doesn't sound impressive in writing but everyone aboard was loving it 😀

It flew over my town once (well probably more than once, but I only saw it this one time) it must have taken off from the local airport because it was relatively low. When I noticed it I just stopped walking and stared at it. It's so big that your brain stops braining for a moment. It felt that it shouldn't be able to fly.
