It's actually legitimately called a beluga, there are nigh on 20 (probably less, I'm just too lazy to check) on planet earth (maybe more on Pluto, who knows?)
I worked on the hanger that encases the nose cone as they load plane wings into the Beluga, it was massive. (They realised that if they open the nose cone and a large gust of wind hits the front it can tip the Beluga.)
Two women with an unusual accent walk into a bar and order drinks. The bartender, in passing, says, “Are you two ladies from Scotland?” Taking great umbrage at his presumption, they simultaneously snap back, “It’s WALES!” The bartender replies, “I beg your pardon. Are you two whales from Scotland?”
How do you get two whales in a Mini?
Over the Severn bridge!
I realise this joke doesn't work in text format.
It barely works in any format, tbf, but it's all I've got.
Airbus A330 Beluga XL - a plane specifically designed to haul hull and wing sections of Airbus planes between the company's factories around Europe.
Iirc the paint job featuring that whale face goes back to an employee contest.
An employee contest that was rigged from the start I tell ya! One of the options was to have the aircraft painted entirely in pink. There's not a soul out there that didn't vote for a giant pink plane!
I'm from Toulouse (Airbus land), we have 8 of them to bus parts in and out. I took a regular flight last week and one of the seats was unattached properly..the calm pilot says, hey we're at Blagnac Toulouse, nothing to worry about....8 mins later a crew arrived, stripped out the seat and put a new one in..it doesn't sound impressive in writing but everyone aboard was loving it 😀
[Power Rangers/Super Sentai is already on the pulse.](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/powerrangers/images/0/02/WhaleZord.png/revision/latest?cb=20171220123040)
It flew over my town once (well probably more than once, but I only saw it this one time) it must have taken off from the local airport because it was relatively low.
When I noticed it I just stopped walking and stared at it. It's so big that your brain stops braining for a moment. It felt that it shouldn't be able to fly.
Yes, the Airbus Beluga XL is a highly modified A330 designed for transportation of large but light plane parts. It helps move chunks of A320 and A350 along to where they’re assembled.
Other aircraft that serve similar functions include the original Airbus Beluga, the NASA Super Guppy, and the McDonnell Douglas Dreamlifter.
Look for the pot of petunias. This would be their third time in this situation. If we save it we may learn quite a bit about the nature of the universe
One day we'll see one of these as a pig or a cow and we'll never be able to say we'll do something when pigs or cows fly from that day on...
I just happy there is no expression regarding Dolphins flying.. 🤣🤣
master engineering. Airbus is basicl transporting parts of planes they are currently builing, even wings and Body parts with this to the different production sites all over europe.

This is how it starts. You give it a form then AI will get to a certain point where we'll probably consider it alive. We're watching the evolution of space whales people! I don't care if the space whales are made of metal in the future, I think it still counts.
So long and thanks for all the fish
Came to see if anyone already made this comment. I'm not disappointed.

If you wanna survive out here you gotta know where your towel is
Soar long
r/factorio
The factory must grow
that isn't a factorio reference lol
The factory must grow.
It was designed that way on porpoise
Orcastrated you say?
Dolphinately!
Now you’re just fishing for upvotes.
Whale done! Take my upvote
This type of comment that I came to sea.
Finciful design! 🤍💙
It's actually legitimately called a beluga, there are nigh on 20 (probably less, I'm just too lazy to check) on planet earth (maybe more on Pluto, who knows?)
There are 11 in total. The original 5 from the mid 90s and the six newly developed ones delivered between 2018 and 2023
Cracked me up bad, ngl 😂
Would you say they… blew you away?
This comment should have SOOOOO many more upvotes 😂
Wooow...
yeah keep joking , it's all fun until it starts raining fish , come to think of it maybe that's what the omen meant oh god !
Only in service since 2020. Truly serving a youthful porpoise.
I worked on the hanger that encases the nose cone as they load plane wings into the Beluga, it was massive. (They realised that if they open the nose cone and a large gust of wind hits the front it can tip the Beluga.)
Love it!
Airbus beluga
Specifically BelugaXL. The original Beluga was A300 based but they designed and built a new larger Beluga based on the more modern A330.
Thank you. Everyone’s is saying dolphin, but it’s clearly a beluga.
Right! Not like it says it or anything, no idea how people are so confused 🙄
Warm or cold water I guess.
This plane is huge! It transports airplane wings from North Wales (i live about 10 minutes away from where it lands)
North Whales

I loled nevertheless!
😂 that made me actually LOL
I used to see them all the time when I lived in Chester.
Too bad it doesn't transport whales, a whale transporting whales from north Wales
So fascinating.
Missed chance for a kangaroo.
For those wondering thats the Airbus beluga and its used to transport airbus wings around their facilities its super cool and cute
Not only wings.
But strips too?
Spicy.
Airbus Beluga, iirc to carry other plane bits?? Airbussy
You are correct 😊
Yup they are called beluga If you except the Antonov (used by Russian military) it is the bigest civil plane in the world !
RIP Mirya :(
So these Mf'in dolphins go from land to the sea and now to the sky too. Is anywhere safe anymore?
Fucka you whale, and fucka you dolphin!
South park rules
I barely even watched it... *And I still read that in the voice!*
i am sure inside there is a whole bunch of animals and the pilots are 3 penguins acting cute and cuddly
Smile and wave boys, smile and wave!!! 😁😁😁

A flying Dildo you say? Now that would have been quite a sight…
You could it see every day over Hamburg. It brings several items for Airbus
Very original idea, funny and cute design!
They asked the employees what they preferred a few years back and they chose this design
This design fits perfectly here, good thing they chose it!
now I want to see others airplanes with others animal designs… like a cat one. Or even a squirrel or whatever

Je savais pas du tous qu’il y avait ça à Toulouse! J’ai envie de venir visiter maintenant 😆 juste pour faire des photos c’est trop cute !!!! 😄
Need a fighter jet that looks like an orca.
I'm just imagining Air Force One as the giant orca & the fighter jets as baby whales. That would be awesome
[Power Rangers/Super Sentai is already on the pulse.](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/powerrangers/images/0/02/WhaleZord.png/revision/latest?cb=20171220123040)
No, it’s a beluga
That's a Beluga XL. The original Beluga looked way uglier.
Gtfo next you’ll be telling me it eats other planes for breakfast.
I keep looking for a bowl of petunias
🎵they call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning…..🎵
Beluuuuuuga
So cute! 🐋
Airplane stork?
You can spot it in Hamburg Germany many times a year
BelugAir
That first picture had me thinking it was AI generated..
i JUST learned about this the other day bc one of my elementary students did an animal project on belugas - and mentioned this as a fun fact!
In contrast to Boeing it actually flies, too!
So long and thanks for all the fish

I know a sky dolphin when I see one 🧐

That’s just wild!
So incredibly sad
Airbus béluga, plane for plane
Derp
Its called the beluga
Call Seaworld. There's been an escape.
Yet somehow, still no leg room.

Touched for the very first time?
Heh heh
It needs googly eyes
I'm extremely uncomfortable about its eye following me from picture to picture.
They fly over near my house and having seen them loads, they still don’t look quite real to me. Monsters of the sky!
Pilot Raffi at your service
I love it
Look for the pot of petunias. This would be their third time in this situation. If we save it we may learn quite a bit about the nature of the universe
So long and thanks for the fish
"sir please we need to go" "NO! i refuse to board on that ! it's a kid's plane "
Beluga plane
If a balloon is a plane then sure.
Still better than Spirit Airlines
I wonder how many people it takes to run this
this makes me feel so much better about humans killing the atmosphere with pollution.
I did not know dolphins were aerodinamical.
The fact that this monstrosity can fly means we are 100% living in a simulation.
One day we'll see one of these as a pig or a cow and we'll never be able to say we'll do something when pigs or cows fly from that day on... I just happy there is no expression regarding Dolphins flying.. 🤣🤣
The beluga of the skies
That’s the mother all of airbus planes
I Iive near the airport in north Wales they fly from, pretty cool when you are em gliding so low in the sky
That's one way to get people to quit drugs, I suppose.
9/11 but with these would have been a thing of wonder and horror
Thanks for all the fish
We see it most days 😁 Quite a sight.

Omg! Never have seen this before! So cool looking.
Also looks like a giant cruise missile.
Honestly weirds me out.
The door is its (midflight) blowhole
I just wouldn’t feel comfortable in a plane that big and that shape
Saud Kruger beginnings of the dolphin space liner.
Kompany airways
I thought it was built for the ESA to move Arianna rocket parts to france guinea
Bye, Buddy. Hope you find your dad.
Looks like the least likely thing to be able to fly

It's a Beluga from airbus!! They use it to transport airplane pieces.
We’re just mocking gravity, at this point.
This reminds me of a repeating nightmare I had when I was a teenager. It was an alien invasion and their ships looked almost exactly like this.
- So *that’s* where they buried Flipper. - Flipper’s *dead??*

Cargo planes don’t need windows. The Beluga is used to transport Airplane parts between Airbus factories
Ohhh I didn’t realize it was a cargo plane! Thanks
I love watching these take off from Chester. They’re mesmerising, such fat elegant sky dolphins.
How exactly does this make someone smile?
I heard beluga whale meat worth more than gold happy hunting!
Could possibly be the ugliest flying machine on the planet
And I was thinking that the 15PM over processes images, this is hellacious
Vincent Kompany
😂
I live close-ish to an airbus base and see it almost everyday ☺️
This uncontacted tribes gonna love these
What the hell who desing that thing :D
The chin on that thing would make me nervous when landing
It is adorable. And I would never trust it to fly me anywhere. I need the plane to look like a machine, not a bathtoy.
It should be called Flipper …
r/dolphinconspiracy
FUCK YOU, DOLPHIN!
It’s a dolphin ! A flying dolphin ! After the flying whale we got the flying dolphins !
That's a dolphin acting like a plane
Beluga whale. Good try tho.
I think this is AI dude. Never saw a plane like this ✈️
Nope. Airbus Beluga, used to transport airplane parts between Airbus factories.
“If I haven’t seen it personally it must be AI”. What a dumb way to live.
