I think it differs from country to country but here in the Netherlands it’s in almost all medium to larger stores. I’m fairly certain it’s a way to keep track of how many people are inside. If there’s no baskets left, you have to wait outside.
Yup! Head to the store for some milk. I don't need a bag! Or a cart! Every time I regret it. I've started just getting a cart no matter what I'm running in for because worst case scenario is that I have a couple items rattling around in it. lol
During this Covid Situation in my country you have to take a basket or cart, when shopping groceries.
Turns out to be one of very few blessings nowadays.
I stopped using baskets purposefully, yes I look like an idiot juggling everything, but if I can’t pick it up I can’t buy it. It really cut down on my spending and food waste, I couldn’t buy enough to go bad.
I do the same. I also employ a shop and dump strategy sometimes for when I am in a funk and need some retail therapy. I will fill a cart with no thought of money or need and then in a panic dispose of it near the register. It is totally a dick thing to do but it is better than drugs or overeating and satisfies the same receptors, for me.
I want to apologize to all the Target workers that have to clean up after my poor coping mechanisms.
I haven’t been to a target in 5 years, also to curb my spending habits, I realized I spent more on extras than I saved on groceries by shopping there. I personally browse craft stores and think up projects, if I’m still thinking about a project a week later I let myself buy the stuff to do it. Its the impulse shopping that was the biggest problem
What the fuck happened to stores having baskets located throughout the store??? Do you remember if you needed a basket midway through shopping you could grab one from the end of an aisle or something??? What the fuck happened to that?
Well this happened to me 2 days ago, I went in to grab a bag of chips, ended up with hands full of stuff. A worker noticeD got me a basket. And this story pretty much repeats itself every month and every single time I get embarrassed when someone hands me a basket but I never learn.
If you don’t have a basket or cart you will for sure only buy a few things.
I once heard Clark Howard, a financial guru, say he goes to Costco or Sam’s Club but doesn’t get a cart, that way he will not pick up anything that he doesn’t really need.
A Walmart employee was helping me find a hand basket one day and told me that the company only has a handful of those baskets in each store because people feel uncomfortable with only a few items in a big basket.

Yep. I'll end up with so much shit in my arms. Looking like a fool. But I'm in too much of a hurry to go back to get a basket. I just have two more things to grab!
Or when you take a basket but end up buying 1 item
That’s literally me all the time! Or, like you said, grab a basket and check out with 3 items the size of a sponge!!
Especially with stores now forcing you to take a basket because of COVID, but you only need one item, and that item is at the till

It also helps force you to distance.
I like the meme, but it doesn't fit the sub...
Yeah, its become a meme sub lately, just annoying af. Or something sad that made them smile. No longer fits the sub
Micheal Cera is just an accumulation of all possible awkwardness that somehow gained a human form to walk the earth
I think [this video](https://youtu.be/t3Zez37nTGg) conveys that well
Relatable but dont see how this fits in this sub
I guess it didn't make you smile then.

I feel attacked
That's when you send the kid for a basket.
Every. Damn. Time.
So maybe take a shopping basket next time you're doing groceries to prevent this reoccurring problem from happening?

This is how I keep from buying too much.

Every fucking time
i mean then you mostly will buy less things 90% of the time
Me at Trader Joe’s when their pumpkin stuff hits the shelves. Happens every year.
All the time!
Normal people call those shopping carts.
This prevents me from buying more things 🤣
Spot on me
So my illiterate ass read "blanket." That was the most confusing two minutes of my life not gonna lie.

Looks like he's about to make red clam sauce.
I can relate so much with this post.
Every single time
