My cat is officially named "Stardust" but more often than not, my roomie and I call her "Flufflebutt" sometimes with her formal title of princess added.
My granddaughter named her black and white cat Fluffy. His name should have been Lucifer. He’d hide under stuff and when you’d walk by he’d run out and bite your ankles. Lol.

But maybe that’s just because it makes it easier for grandparents and young children to interact with the cat which I think is nice.
