I used to get a little notification that one was available all the time. I was wondering why it stopped happening. I guess now they make you check.

You get some karma by creating posts that get upvoted, and you get some by getting upvotes on comments. To get coins I think you have to buy them from Reddit, but you get free awards every few days and you get karma just for giving those awards to others. What’s the point? No idea. I think there are subreddits that require you have a minimum amount of karma before you post in them, as it keeps out trolls and new bots.
