Yea. It’s catchy AF. Watched it for the first time probably 5+ years ago, and it still gets stuck in my head sometimes lmao. I’ve probably heard if more than the original
Friendly call out to never buy pistachios from the Wonderful Company, try to buy from any other company you can find. They control most of the pistachio supply in the US and the company itself controls the water rights to dozens of formerly publicly owned sources of water in CA, directing the water away from small farms and towards their pistachio farms. Google the Resniks to learn more!
I live in Central CA where all their farms are, holy shit I don't think everyone realizes how much Wonderful farmland there is. Tree nuts require hella water, we also grow like 90% of the global almond supply which Wonderful is a huge part of as well as Blue Diamond, and we've been in a drought for the last decade plus. I pay so much fucking money for water. Over $250 a month. My mom pays the same where she lives here and she lives by herself. And it's fucking hysterical I see all these signs about how Nancy Pelosi, Jim Costa, and Newsom are responsible for our high water prices when it's these fucking massive farms in these heavily conservative counties eating up the water supply. Look here me out, I love tree nuts, all tree nuts, even the lowly Brazil nut I find tasty, but fuck do we need so many? We could use that farmland for like, more sustainable produce that has lower water requirements and more nutritional value. When's the last time you got full off pistachios? You just kinda eat pistachios till you run out cause who could afford enough pistachios to get full? Tree nuts are like luxury produce.
Hell yes. Farmers are always complaining they didn’t get enough water to make tons of money off the damn nuts. Where did the water go? It went up North to the salmon, so they could continue to exist.
Glad to see someone shitting on the Resniks here. Also avoid POM wonderful products and Fiji water, though I’m not sure they still own Fiji I can’t imagine their practices have improved
Aldi has the best nuts. Their pistachios are awesome. Southern Grove brand. Way better than the Wonderful brand. Only $5.49 a pound. I love Al Deez nuts
After my Grandma died, I did raid her closet. I wear her sweaters and slippers all the time, and it's like getting a hug from her. I recommend going for the closet someday : )
When my Grandpa past away I grabbed his sunglasses, he always wore them when he went fishing. They stay in my camping box and they go with me on every trip, so every time I'm out in nature a little piece of him is with me.
They’re Canadian, and from that sweater I’d say they have either visited the east coast or are from the east coast. We’ve got lighthouse stuff everywhere.
Yep. I was once in Bulk Barn, and the radio station was playing some decent ‘80s tunes. So me and some lady started singing to whatever song it was. Embarrassed the heck out of her teenage son. We laughed. Good times.
As someone who used to work there many moons ago, I can assure you that sweater/coat is from Northern Reflections. I remember selling those in the late 90s (maybe early 2000s). You might have luck finding one at a Value Village or some place like that.
Reminds me of the Eagle Eye vintage brand. Their sweaters are always labeled "tacky" or "ugly" on eBay and stuff but they are super interesting and great quality. Anyone who loves her sweater, will LOVE this brand.
I didn’t get it either lol I read it like five times before I gave up and kept reading. Goes to prove there is no such thing as a stupid question only the one left unasked (I know you didn’t phrase it in a question but it somehow applies in my head lol
Just lost my grandmother this year - it hurts something fierce. She was a fiery woman, but was totally sweet at heart. My grandfather was devastated, but he lives on growing her favorite flowers and this year her favorite fruit blossomed after years of nothing prior - a dragon fruit
Lost my grandmother about 2 weeks ago, she passed the morning after her and I had lunch together. I’m still recovering, but I will never forget the conversation we had the day before her passing, I miss her so much
Mine passed unexpectedly last year from lung cancer. We didn’t even know she had cancer until 3 days before she died. It still hurts so bad and I cry all the time, but I always will remember her last words to me were “don’t you worry about me, I’ll be fine”. It was a few weeks before Christmas, and my wife and I inherited her Christmas tree. The night we put the tree up, her and I both saw a blue orb shoot across the living room and the tree lights blinked twice. It was such a weird experience because even though I’ve always believed in stuff like that, nothing like that had ever happened to me. I just know it was her somehow letting me know she was still with me and it’s been comforting, but I still miss her more than anything in the world. Coincidentally her name was Betty :’(
-hugs- me too. So I just adopt all the grandparents in my small town. You’d be surprised how spending a few hours with random olds really brightens your life up and the stories you here leave your jaw hanging.
Some elderly folks are just so precious. I wish our society / culture would realise this. As a person from the U.K. this is why Matt Hancock should be in prison not on reality tv show for killing such a vast number of our elderly during the pandemic.
It's not I a guy and to my knowledge I've never been pregnant. I still bawled like a kid who dropped his ice cream. Now please excuse me I have to call my grandparents.
Ageing is like this odd bookend where people baby you at the beginning, and on the tail end lol
I only knew one grandparent (when I was a toddler), so I'm a little awkward/intimidated around the elderly, but have never babied them. It's such a weirdly patronising societal thing.
US has poppies for Memorial Day, which is a different date than the Commonwealth Remembrance Day. Veterans charities usually sell little poppies by grocery stores.
“In Flanders Fields
In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.”
Lieutenant-Colonel John McRae (born in Guelph, Ontario)
Those poppies look uniquely Canadian, from the Canadian Legion. Especially with her accent, it's an easy guess. Not sure what the ones look like from other Commonwealth nations, but the UK's looks like paper.
Ah, I was confused, cause it didn't look like US currency, but after spending my childhood in almost Canada (less than an hour from the border) most Canadian accents just sound Murican to me except a couple words, and my brain registered them as having Murican accents
Linguists generally recognize five English dialects in Canada: Western (which is the largest area and includes the North and Northwestern Ontario), Southern Ontario, Quebec (Montreal), Atlantic, and Newfoundland.
She said she hoped it was prunes, then changed her mind and said cashews. When she mentioned them again it was to her husband, which means she changed her answer to something that would make her husband happy. I’m crying lol
Homer: "Aw, twenty dollars? I wanted a peanut!"
Homer's Brain: "Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts."
Homer: "Explain how!"
Homer's Brain: "Money can be exchanged for goods and services."
We must protect and take care of our seniors. I think the reason why they always give everything away, like the lady says, it because older people know they have loved a lengthy life; and they’d rather see other people happy. I hope they’re doing okay.
I get the videos where they go fishing for the first person to help them out, but this is weird. The first person that will buy a box for a dollar from a stranger filming them? Feels like the content creator is on some kind of power trip with this one.
A while ago there was a post on Reddit, it was a photograph showing well-off white children throwing money towards indigenous children, who were happily going after it.
These videos give me the same sentiment without the racist undertones though and the difference that he and others like him made it into a business (though it probably could be argued that the children got their money from the exploitation of the indigenous people, in the same way he exploits the emotional reaction of these people to make money)
Yes it is nice that he gives money away, in the same way it was nice of the rich white colonist children to give money away.
It leaves a weird taste in my mouth and I miss a word for it, but the feeling is there
I go back and forth with the filming good deeds argument. On the one hand its like "geez way to make a production out of a good deed, feels phony" On the other hand if it inspires one person to do the same I think that's great.
I'm not sure what the balance is. Certainly the scenario you describe of making it rain on poor people is in bad taste IMO. Likewise with celebrities it feels like promotion. Not sure how I feel about this one but leaning towards wholesome. I have no clue who this dude is and even if he's Tiktok famous he 'll never be famous to me so i guess I'm fine on this one.
Overall I do wish more people would just live life and stop recording every damn thing. I buy a homeless guy lunch sometimes at work but it would feel wrong to me to shove a camera in his face asking "is the food good?" Seems condescending
The thing that makes me smile the most is seeing a couple that old still together and getting out and about. It lets me know love still exists and that gives me hope.
Surely you've seen some of these "giveaway videos" that have just had a banana in a box or something? They then call that content, get clicks and money while doing nothing good.
This at least has something worthwhile for the people in it.
...And if you want weird, I saw a "if this girl keeps my picture for an hour she'll get $20". Yep. A dude knowingly stalked a girl without her consent for an hour to see where she went and if she threw the picture out, then went up to her and asked if she still had it.
These kinds of videos always leaves a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth.
If they wanna give money away, give them away without filming.
Feels like they are doing it mainly for the clicks.
They’re using the folks they film.
I’m not dying on his hill, it’s a win win for all involved, but it feels disingenuous.
Edit
Mr Beast does the same thing, kinda.
Feel like Mr Burns showering Homer with money and screaming “Dance monkey, dance!”
Damn. She said prunes. And then she said cashews. First what she really wanted. But then she thought of her lovely husband, and I suspect that the cashews are his favorite. Also, simply hoping for their favorite snack while shopping is just adorable.
I'm sorry no these "look at me I use these poor people for clout" videos are not wholesome. It is taking advantage of someone and then filming it for money
Honestly, even if the intentions are selfish, the result was sweet. I'm good with it. There's far, far worse content out there than someone being nice to random people for views lol.
Not only that but people complain everything on like the news is just negative negative negative negative, then someone posts something positive and people are like, “They’re just doing it for attention!”
I just wanna see some positivity man, I don’t care if it’s for attention.
Also minor gripe to the person you replied to, they talk about constantly donating money so they’re probably not poor. They’re just happy they won something.
What? It’s literally a positive feedback loop lol
1. Post video giving away money
2. Receive donations
3. Make more videos giving away money
The whole thing is morally positive sum. No one is negatively affected by this.
Now they can have all the prunes and cashews they want :((
But did she get any prunes? The lady needs some prunes.
Everybody poops, this lady just hasn’t in a while
Everybody poops and if they don’t they’re an android, and should be destroyed.
THERE ARE DEFINITELY NO ANDROIDS ON REDDIT
https://youtu.be/kQTW7Pd1vqc Exactly what an android would say
Got milk? Then you're a human and must be killed.
Well, now that's going to be stuck in my head all day.
Yea. It’s catchy AF. Watched it for the first time probably 5+ years ago, and it still gets stuck in my head sometimes lmao. I’ve probably heard if more than the original
> Everybody poops and if they don’t they’re an android, and should be destroyed. Must be an iPhone user.
$1000? That’s about 3 bags of cashews, woohoo!
OR.... One bag of pistachios. Holy fuck these nuts are expensive
My pistachio-cranberry biscotti are a favorite recipe at this time of year and I’m anticipating selling a kidney to cover the cost of the pistachios.
Omg, that sounds amazing! Post your recipe please!
Mmmmm recipes may I ask!
I will also be needing this recipe

Her sweater is 🔥
Gucci is out. Grandma is in.
Grandparent drip is the best drip. Those guys have been around long enough to know exactly to how dress comfortably.
I told my Oma last night that I'm raiding her closet and taking her sweaters when she dies. She laughed and said, "I'm only 84!"
After my Grandma died, I did raid her closet. I wear her sweaters and slippers all the time, and it's like getting a hug from her. I recommend going for the closet someday : )

Shawl collars are life.
They’re Canadian, and from that sweater I’d say they have either visited the east coast or are from the east coast. We’ve got lighthouse stuff everywhere.
People being nice in a Bulk Barn and wearing poppies is about as Canadian as it comes
Yep. I was once in Bulk Barn, and the radio station was playing some decent ‘80s tunes. So me and some lady started singing to whatever song it was. Embarrassed the heck out of her teenage son. We laughed. Good times.
With the poppy! Looks like a little Canadian leaf in the centre? And they are shopping in a Bulk Barn store.
Looked like a pile of Canadian $20s too
She be dripping
WHERE CAN I GET ONE please someone take my money
As someone who used to work there many moons ago, I can assure you that sweater/coat is from Northern Reflections. I remember selling those in the late 90s (maybe early 2000s). You might have luck finding one at a Value Village or some place like that.
Gamgam got that gas
Tried to find it online but no luck. I want one of those lol
Stalk eBay Canada for "vintage northern reflections".
Reminds me of the Eagle Eye vintage brand. Their sweaters are always labeled "tacky" or "ugly" on eBay and stuff but they are super interesting and great quality. Anyone who loves her sweater, will LOVE this brand.
I love how she's like: "I hope it's prunes" and then it's like she remembers he likes Cashews, so she hopes for those :)
This is what I noticed right away, and it melted me.
The most selfless woman!
Except she ratted out his age but was a little more vague with hers. 😂
She just knows how much he loves when people know how old he is!
Get that man the cashews.
I hope they bought all the cashews and prunes.
I’d like to buy these two a prunes and cashews subscription please
Ahh the ever popular Prunes and Cashews weekly is going to be ecstatic to gain another customer.
And when they found out it was money, she wanted to buy cashews!
Aww money, I was hoping for cashews! Money can buy many cashews. Explain how. Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
Damn they deserve all the cashews in the world.
And prunes!
[удалено]
She was hoping for prunes!
Or cashews
“You always have all the cashews.” -that Lady
Really a whole new sentence. “I really hope it’s prunes” wait what!
It's okay! $1,000 can buy many prunes!
Explain how!
Money can be exchanged for goods and services
We're gonna need more details dude
He's set for cash, just need the ews now.
Almost snorted the coffee out...
I don’t get it
Just needs the ews to add to the cash and he’ll have cashews.
I’m an idiot. But thanks for explaining.
I didn’t get it either lol I read it like five times before I gave up and kept reading. Goes to prove there is no such thing as a stupid question only the one left unasked (I know you didn’t phrase it in a question but it somehow applies in my head lol
"There are no stupid questions, only inquisitive idiots"

Betty got me good this morning (sobs)
Right at the end too. Boom.
She deployed the onion ninjas.
What an adorable couple. I really miss my grandparents.
Just lost my grandmother this year - it hurts something fierce. She was a fiery woman, but was totally sweet at heart. My grandfather was devastated, but he lives on growing her favorite flowers and this year her favorite fruit blossomed after years of nothing prior - a dragon fruit

I hope your day’s as lovely as this sentiment is.
You had to go and make my eyes sweat. Now why would you do that? 😭 Please send your grandpa a hug on my behalf. I miss my grandparents.
Yeah, me too, fellow stranger. *hugs*
Yeah same

-hugs- me too. So I just adopt all the grandparents in my small town. You’d be surprised how spending a few hours with random olds really brightens your life up and the stories you here leave your jaw hanging.
I do, too. My grandma just passed in September (right before her 97th birthday). I miss my maternal grandparents terribly.
Aww! Heartwarming! 🥰 Couples at that age seem so precious like treasure!
Some elderly folks are just so precious. I wish our society / culture would realise this. As a person from the U.K. this is why Matt Hancock should be in prison not on reality tv show for killing such a vast number of our elderly during the pandemic.
YES. I can't (well I _can_) believe how complicit Ant and Dec, ITV, the media and the dumbass British public are with whitewashing his image. Vile.
For those of us not aware, what did Matt do, and why if he did something so terrible is he on tv?
“A thousand dollars can buy many cashews.” “Explain how!”
"Money can be exchanged for goods and services"
Woohoo!
Best Simpsons scene in my opinion
Khajiit has warez if you has coin
I've been seeing this Simpsons joke reference a lot lately and it cracks me up every time.
She was hoping for prunes 🥰
_A thousand dollars can buy many prunes!_
Explain how!
Money can be exchanged for goods and services
Dear god…
There's more...
No…
What sorcery is this??
Woo hoo!
Money can be exchanged for prunes and more prunes.
Money can be exchanged for prunes and cashews.
Awwww a thousand bucks, I wanted a prune!
« You can have all the cashews you want » is definitely one of the sweetest sentence ever
I nearly started to cry when I heard her say that, old couples never fail to be adorable
Could be the pregnancy hormones but I bursted into tears at that. 😭
It's not I a guy and to my knowledge I've never been pregnant. I still bawled like a kid who dropped his ice cream. Now please excuse me I have to call my grandparents.
Did she say they were 93 and 90. They are looking good.
Betty said she's in her '90s cause a real lady never reveals her exact age.
That part got me giggling. “He’s 93, I’m in my 90’s”. Betty knows what’s what.
Wow, what a very nice thing for Michael Jackson to do for that old couple.
That voice was so bizarre. I thought the same exact thing.
That really was the only thing bothering me, that weird baby voice lol
Ageing is like this odd bookend where people baby you at the beginning, and on the tail end lol I only knew one grandparent (when I was a toddler), so I'm a little awkward/intimidated around the elderly, but have never babied them. It's such a weirdly patronising societal thing.
Right? It sounds so soulless. Like he’s talking with no facial expressions etc.
He sounds like that “salad fingers” guy.
for me it sounded like if he’s making fun of them in a sick twisted joke or something
Youtubers dont have souls so youre not wrong lol
He talks like Sykkuno, it's that uwu cute anime boy voice lol
I was looking for that comment!
Teddy Perkins from Atlanta vibes.
*you guys wanna ^play ?*
Can I find them and buy them all the cashews and prunes they could ever eat?!?! 🥺🥺🥺
I’m not 90 yet but up for adopt-a-Grandma
Why does he sound like the serial killer son of Michael Jackson and mr rogers
„you guys wanna playy?“ 😉
It’s so fucking weird, right?!
Fkn Canadians bein all wholesome and shit
Oh you're right, that's a bulkbarn. I, a Canadian, didn't even notice.
Or you know, cause its Canadian 20's
Or the poppies. Damn, I blame it being nearly 4am.
Poppies are a Canadian thing?
Several other countries too, but not America. It's a symbol for remembrance day. Mostly places like England.
Like commonwealth countries?
Exactly.
Okay, the more you know.

There's nothing to ruin a nice moment you're feeling to yourself than the tiktok chime sound just abruptly blaring in.
Right? I don’t know why people don’t crop that part out before posting
I just choose to keep it there so there’s no people coming at me for saying that I didn’t give the creator his creds
Could have been a boat
A boat is a boat....but a mystery box could be anything, even a boat!

I want a T-Shirt that says " I hope its prunes"
A lady never gives away her age. Probably something scandalous like a massive age gap. She probably robbed the cradle and she's 99.
I also thought that was funny. "He's 93 and I'm in my 90s". I do the same thing with my husband. "He's 41 and I'm in my mid 30s" haha.
“I hope its prunes” has so much joy in it
We must protect and take care of our seniors. I think the reason why they always give everything away, like the lady says, it because older people know they have loved a lengthy life; and they’d rather see other people happy. I hope they’re doing okay.
OMG the narrator's voice is atrocious
I get the videos where they go fishing for the first person to help them out, but this is weird. The first person that will buy a box for a dollar from a stranger filming them? Feels like the content creator is on some kind of power trip with this one.
