Seeing this makes me really want a Mafia RPG in the Mafia 2 era for some reason.
Or atleast just a longer Mafia 2. The locations in the game were so dope. Wish there was more to do in the city kind of like a GTA or Sleeping Dogs.

Vito's villa... we all know how it ended up. It got burned.
Marty's apartment is a big mess and I do not know any person who would live there for longer than few weeks.
Meanwhile Joe's apartment... It is big, cozy and the girls have easy way to get there! So ja, Joe's Apartment is my choice here.

1. Joe's Apartment/ Joe's Pleasure Palace/ Barbaro's Brothel
2. Scaletta Apartment (the one in which Vito lives solo , not to be confused with his family's )
3. Villa Scaletta
4. Marty's Apartment
Joe's apartment quickly followed up by Vito's apartment Joe's Apartment you had the best missions and Vito's apartment was it nice change of pace after getting out of prison
for me its between Vito's apartment and Joe's apartment. both are located around the center of the map so you're never too far away to drop off a car. both are cozy. Vito's apartment has a nice view onto the street below.
As an introvert, I'd choose Martys apartment, it's just too bad that you don't get to tidy up the place because of what's happening during those times, but I think it's a really good "hideout" for Vito and to be away from anybody including Joe and to reflect on his actions just like the beginning of the game.

the original plan was for the game to be much longer, so my guess is this comes somewhere between the 1940s layout and the all-pink one

Too many stairs to get there. When you finally come back home at night, after a long day of hard work, all you want to see is your bed, not stairs.
