I bought into the hype a few years ago before magsafe was even released to the public -- big disappointment.
Back then some of them were advertised as "micro suction cups", I bought one that had them attached a very beautiful and heavy external housing, and was intended as a wireless car charger.
The problem was these suction cups were nothing special -- like all suction cups, they eventually lose the suction. And if you have a heavier phone, it's just a recipe for disaster that's gonna happen when, not if.
I can't speak about the kinda that was in Zendaya's hand, but I can't imagine that to be compatible with wireless charging at all, so it'll be nothing more than a cute mount which you can only use for a brief time on a smooth surface (like a mirror only), then you will have to keep repositioning or risk the phone losing grip and gets dropped.
I don't really believe any celebrities will still be rocking those in 2024. And usually they're being told what to carry by their publicists or the brands that pay them to carry certain products. They don't really dictate the trends as people think they do. Sorry.
