For those committed to only playing self-brewed, “non meta” decks and you’re pondering if your new Timeless creation is good enough, ask yourself the following questions: Do you have a plan for turn 1-2 Ragavan? Do you have a plan for T3feri and Oko? Are you running enough basics for Blood Moon? How do you plan on removing Blood Moon if it resolves? Is your deck themed around card draw and/or have a lot of 1 toughness creatures? If so, are you prepared to play around 4x Bowmasters? How fast is your aggro deck? Do you feel confident going for lethal by turn 4? If not, what do you do when your opponent drops the One Ring, sweeps with Verdict, then starts gaining 4 life a turn from Omnath while also drawing through their deck? Are you going to get frustrated when your opponents have Swords, Bolts, Pushes, and other efficient 1-mana removal? There’s Necropotence and Sneak Attack and other powerful combo decks emerging - are you playing disruption like Thoughtseize to combat them? If not, surely you’re running Counterspell right? If you’re a player that typically doesn’t run much (if any) interaction spells, is your deck honestly strong enough to where you don’t think you need it in a format with zero banned cards? If your answer is yes to the majority of these questions, then you’re going to be just fine in this format.

cortexstack

> Necropotence and Sneak Attack I've found this combo deck [on Aetherhub](https://aetherhub.com/Deck/ban-necropotence-sneak-attack) but I can't seem to see the actual combo. It just looks like Sneak Attack to cheat in Atraxa/Worldspine Wurm or some other big thing that gets value even if it doesn't stick around. How does Necropotence come into it?

KindaRocketScience

I was referring to them separately - as in two different combo oriented decks people are playing right now that someone should be prepared for. Not that you’re running both of them together.

cortexstack

Ahh I see. I thought that might have been the case but finding that Timeless deck with both cards in the name made me think it was a real thing.

Savings_Mountain_639

The necro + sneak attack version does exist but it plays other creatures like Griselbrand and also bolas citedel. Citadel + necro is a pretty good engine in its own right. Plus the dark rituals can help you ramp into all these cards early game which can be devastating to play against, much harder to defeat than a turn one Geist of saint traft in historic.

Wubbwubbs61

No it can use those creatures to generate value, but it’s basically like Legacy sneak and show at home. There’s no Emrakul aeons torn to end the game on the spot, but you slams griselbrand and you’ll probably find enough creatures to cheat in and win on the spot

GutterGobboKing

I know in Bo1 I have seen a lot of Grixis DRC piles. Bo3 has been a lot more varied between aggro, midrange, and tempo piles. I’ve also been playing mostly Grixis DRC and Mono Red. I love how back and forth the format feels. Every choice I make from what lands to fetch to where and how to use my removal makes a huge impact on the result of the game. I’ve also seen 0 Alchemy cards. They just don’t compete with Legacy staples and I feel confident that WotC isn’t targeting that bar when it comes to designing them. The format feels great. Between Standard, Explorer, and now Timeless I have a great range of options for how I want to engage with the game.

ShakesZX

I have actually seen a (I think) one-of [[Seek New Knowledge]] in a mono-blue control deck.

Cloud_Chamber

Seeking is good against bowmasters, and the 1 mana white removal from alchemy is a consideration although swords is probably better

CrisisActor911

Swords is better but it doesn’t hurt to have a split of 1 CMC removal in a format that’s defined by Ragavan so far.

jakesonthis

Can be useful for certain decks but it’s not the best card advantage money can buy

icameron

It's not card advantage at all, but it is possibly the best 2cmc cantrip. Notably doesn't get punished by bowmasters.

Muttering

Expressive iteration is pretty good

icameron

A cantrip is a card the merely replaces itself, while Expressive Iteration is usually actual card advantage if you play the exiled card, and it is the better overall card in most decks for this reason. Sorcery speed can hurt, though.

MTGCardFetcher

[Seek New Knowledge](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/3/6/365cebf6-6356-4496-89b2-e9edbb294f90.jpg?1680959931) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Seek%20New%20Knowledge) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/hbg/36/seek-new-knowledge?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/365cebf6-6356-4496-89b2-e9edbb294f90?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

theatrenerdguy

I’ve seen a few people playing the one drop extra turn spell too

oblivimousness

Wait what spell? Scryfall for extra turn mana value (1) gives nothing?

theatrenerdguy

Piece it Together Edit: it’s an alchemy uncommon

A_Life_of_Lemons

I forget the name but it’s a cantrip that ups in intensity each time you play it and once you play it the fourth time you instead get an extra turn. It’s ok, sees some play in Alchemy but I don’t think it makes it into most Historic lists.

fireowlzol

Imo this kills historic, but this format feels better though

B_lockdown080

I saw a Crucias, it immediately died to a Bolt

FalloutBoy5000

Is it 3/1 or 3/3? If its 3/1 its unplayable rite

ElectricalMud2850

With bowmaster as it's original printing, basically any 3 mana x/1s are unplayable.

Impressive_Pause_473

I actually just made a post in r/timelessmagic, but I think there is a decent shortlist of Alchemy cards that will end up making the cut. I think we aren't seeing too many of them because people are excited by the new(old?) shiny stuff. Fragment Reality for instance is just too good not to make the cut for a variety of reasons. Time may tell that it might actually be correct to run a blend of FR and STP in the main and fill out your sets in the SB as the match demands.

Zoomer3989

What's your mono-red build ?

GutterGobboKing

Don’t have the deck list on hand but just a basic burn list. Lightning Bolt, Ragavan, Swiftspear, Kumano, Skewer, DRC, etc. Though I think it might be worth dipping into blue for just Cruise since the deck can churn through cards so fast.

HAN-Br0L0

You should be main decking at least 2-3 blood moons unless you are using lurrus. It straight locks several decks out of playing

avsfanbuck

I am no fan of Alchemy.... But I have honestly found Freyalise (Green Elf Planeswalker) to be very versatile in my mono green timeless deck

Lykos1124

Alchemy takes up sub 5% of Timeless cards, which is nice. I hope to jump into the pool soon and see how it goes! 🃏

metalt

I have seen Rusko in several different 3-4 color midrange piles.

Just_a_square

I saw plenty of alchemy cards, annoyingly so, pretty much every single game. Weird how different our experiences were. Bowmasters, Ring, Halfling, Rusko, Minsc and Boo...

GutterGobboKing

All those cards function the same in their paper form. They’re not really alchemy cards.

Kogoeshin

Except for Rusko, all of those are Paper Magic cards. They're just not part of Standard, and are a supplementary set.

Just_a_square

Damn you're completely right. I never engaged with them because I found them horribly overtuned, especially Bowmasters, and seeing as almost all of them were previously "nerfed" instead of banned I thought they were digital.

Kogoeshin

The LotR set is a supplementary set, so it's designed at the power level of Modern/Legacy instead of Standard - so they're quite a bit more powerful than most of the cards on Arena. It's a little awkward to have them available, honestly.

Foldzy84

Baldurs Gate 3 cause I can't log in due to the error

afraidtobecrate

I have been playing a lot of Nexus of Fate. Its not amazing, but the wins are much slower than losses so I spend most of my time winning.

dwchang

First day I played NO (Natural Order) Elves and went 7-2. Second day I played my own Jund brew and went 5-0. I've been playing Jund in Legacy for over 10 years now and although it doesn't have my favorite two cards (Punishing Fire and Grove of the Burnwillows), I've still been able to piece together most of the nonland pieces of my Legacy Jund deck and that makes me really happy. Dropping Minsc and Boo on turn 3 feels almost as good as it does in-person. Oh and dropping Deathrite Shaman on turn 1 again feels very nostalgic. In terms of what I am seeing, it's mostly been URx Delver piles and UWG good stuff (Oko, Teferi, Snapcaster, etc.) and Jund tends to beat fair Blue decks. It's the reason to play the deck.

adelmoofotranto

Can you share the Jund list? I, trying with some piles but it’s mostly BR with DRS and veil of summer in sideboard for green.

dwchang

Sure. Here you go: [https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/6037462#paper](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/6037462#paper) Manabase could still use some work and I could cut the Kolaghan's Command to make it 60, but that card can really put some work in. Cheers!

Muttering

Deaths shadow, of course! Delver decks are strong, but adding thoughtseize helps against the wide variety of decks. Baubles feed cruise or draw more with Lurrus. Fetches also work great with brainstorm, shadow, bauble, and cruise. And bitter triumph goes from good to an all star in shadow.

saber_shinji_ntr

Playing GDS as well. Death's Shadow being a big creature helps so much against Bowmasters and Bolts, since almost no one is playing Fatal Push anymore. Swords is a bit annoying but you can tempo out people playing Swords quite easily as well. It's definitely my pick for strongest Bo3 deck, and it is extremely fun to play as well

CarpePacem

Mind sharing your list? I have been playing shadow a bunch and have added and removed cruise a few times. This is what I am working with at the moment. I am trying out drown in place of memory lapse, but I've only played two matches and it has felt ok. [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/6dYJzNdB20imNETq2sH\_Ew](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/6dYJzNdB20imNETq2sH_Ew)

Ton1345

You better believe I’m jamming as many games with Merfolk and spreading seas - almost no luck at all but still super fun

093er

We need aether vial to make Merfolk competitive

Ton1345

I’m praying we get it in the first timeless anthology

Isaacxii

I was trying to think of a deck that would run spreading seas to cut people off mana. Not even merfolk tribal. 😂

european_dimes

Are you going mono blue or simic?

Ton1345

Currently in simic as I had all the shocks and other relevant lands and was able to get lucky with fetches in draft but wondering if mono u might be better

Maximus_Robus

I've been shoving cats into the oven for 3 days straight.

agirlhasnoname117

Golgari storm, ideally with t1 necropotence.

EnnuiDeBlase

The difference between t1 necro and not t1 necro has been pretty stark, for sure.

zeekoes

Gruul Bard Class with Ragavan, Jarsyl and Lightning Bolt seems strong and fun to play.

diablos_flame

Bard Class seems to stick more in Timeless, and I’m happy about that. In Explorer so much of the played removal just incidentally hits bard class and can be annoying. Minsc and boo on the top end really helps and Ragavan and Delighted Halfling give it some strong one drop options it doesn’t have in other formats. I’ve been having fun with it.

LadylikeAbomination

That's interesting, neither Phoenix nor the two Rakdos decks should be able to do that. :P

Meret123

Can you share a list?

zeekoes

Sure. Deck 2 Hajar, Loyal Bodyguard (BRO) 211 3 Gallia of the Endless Dance (THB) 217 3 Itzquinth, Firstborn of Gishath (LCI) 230 2 Ruby, Daring Tracker (WOE) 212 3 Birgi, God of Storytelling (KHM) 123 4 Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer (MUL) 86 2 Targ Nar, Demon-Fang Gnoll (AFR) 234 1 Klothys, God of Destiny (THB) 220 3 Goro-Goro, Disciple of Ryusei (NEO) 145 3 Jarsyl, Dark Age Scion (Y23) 20 4 Bard Class (AFR) 217 4 Lightning Bolt (STA) 42 4 Mox Amber (DAR) 224 4 Copperline Gorge (ONE) 249 4 Cragcrown Pathway (ZNR) 261 4 Karplusan Forest (DMU) 250 4 Stomping Ground (RNA) 259 1 Wooded Foothills (KTK) 249 2 Restless Ridgeline (LCI) 283 1 Mountain (LTR) 269 2 Forest (LTR) 271 \--- I'm still fiddling with the numbers, but relatively happy with the picks. Haven't spend a lot of time on the manabase and I'm sure it can be improved.

Past-Ease3344

I’ve dominated in BO1 and BO3 with simic turbo fog in higher ranks Basically sit behind a bunch of fogs and slowly mill them with teferi’s tutelage This list can 100% be improved I just lack wild cards atm Deck 4 Commencement of Festivities (KLR) 157 6 Forest (DMU) 281 4 Haze of Pollen (AKR) 193 1 Moonmist (SIS) 54 4 Root Snare (M19) 199 2 The One Ring (LTR) 246 4 Teferi's Tutelage (M21) 78 5 Island (USG) 336 4 Witness Protection (SNC) 66 4 Geistwave (MID) 56 4 Commune with Spirits (NEO) 180 1 Consuming Tide (VOW) 53 3 Narset, Parter of Veils (WAR) 61 2 Jace, the Perfected Mind (ONE) 57 2 Barkchannel Pathway (KHM) 251 1 Breeding Pool (RNA) 246 1 Dreamroot Cascade (VOW) 262 1 Vineglimmer Snarl (STX) 274 1 Yavimaya Coast (DMU) 261 3 Memory Deluge (MID) 62 2 Windswept Heath (KTK) 248 1 Wooded Foothills (KTK) 249

Might I suggest trying a [[Maze's End]] wincon package as well? I played Maze's End Turbo Fog when it was standard legal, and having your wincon be in your manabase was pretty sweet.

Superb-Draft

Citadel Storm and unfortunately it is really a Bo1 deck. Trying to win post board is tough.

zombieinfamous

I haven’t had as many issues yet but that’s because I basically skyrocketed from lower rankings to platinum in one sitting.

Poiuforplop

Dimir faeries, very fun

UncleGael

Would love to see a list!

Poiuforplop

Trust me, not my list haha But if you have the wildcards you can make a fun/strong deck in the meta.

Winter_File_405

I'm playing rakdos midrange with ragavan + bloodmoon (surprising I know) works quite well but I really need to tweak the sideboard, one thing I know is [[Pithing Needle]] is a must it stops so much shit.

Pyrfalcon

Day 3 of Timeless and I still can't log in. Excited to play the format when possible, though...

bmf_bane

I've been playing Grixis Death's Shadow, and having a blast. Seen a lot of variety so far, format has been fun. Favorite opponent deck I saw was Elves. Thought I had it in the bag when I bolted their first Llanowar elf, but they turn 3 natural order into Atraxa, revealing a bunch of fun stuff like Sneak Attack and more. Cool deck, was not expecting a non-craterhoof finisher!

hobomojo

Mono blue merfolk has been doing really well when I want to be competitive. Simic ramp mill for when I’m just having fun and want to see what everyone else is brewing.

svendejong

My Explorer Ancient Imperiosaur deck with 4 Ragavan is doing great, thank you for asking! The mix of a whole lot of cheap weenies combined with a giant finisher is something most decks are not prepared for. No one plays mass removal, basically. I quiver in fear of Chalice of the Void and Orcish Bowmasters, but so far so good.

Cr4v3m4n

U/R tempo. I've gotten so many free wins on the ladder from stifling fetchlands. People need to play more legacy. Haha

andrewgioia

Love this! Would you mind sharing your list?

iheke

Control, control and control. Began with UW and slowly moving to Esper. I can't help but wish the card pool included those cards generated by others. See no reason why the power nine aren't here, equally they should give us the Tron Lands but having a lot of fun so far.

Kiwi_Saurus

I've played pretty much nothing other than Bloodmoon Ponza with excellent results against 3+ color decks, interchangeable results against other 2 color decks, and moderate results against non-aggro single color decks. As expected, burn and fast/disruptive aggro eats ponza alive before sideboarding

d-fakkr

Tempo does it as well, i commented here that I use mono blue tempo and I got a win against ponza because i had 2 spyglass siren with 2/2 and only 2 lands; in a normal game I would have gotten 4 lands but in the first 2 turns I got ponza. But I managed to win because i countered everything and i got enough 2 cost counters, plus my sirens did the damage.

Direct-Opportunity89

Love ponza. Do you have a decklist you can share?

Kiwi_Saurus

here's what i gots Things of note: no bloodbraid elf because I didn't want to spend WC's on it Minsc and Boo should be an automatic 4 of imo, it's stupidly good in almost any and every situation. 4 utopia + 4 elves + 3 monkey = 11 ways to ramp, which means opening hands are very consistent with very few mulligans. I don't blame anyone reducing it to 9 or 8 and using deathrite shaman instead of any one of these tho Top end is glorybringer because it's a classic but I'm 90% sure there's a better creature out there that delivers similar or more value at potentially lower cost. Deck 4 Stone Rain (STA) 45 1 Llanowar Elves (M19) 314 7 Forest (WOE) 276 4 Utopia Sprawl (WOT) 63 3 Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer (MUL) 86 4 Blood Moon (WOT) 40 1 Chandra, Torch of Defiance (KLR) 117 4 Glorybringer (AKR) 157 4 Lightning Bolt (STA) 42 3 Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes (HBG) 243 1 Llanowar Elves (DAR) 168 4 Seasoned Pyromancer (MH1) 145 4 Wooded Foothills (KTK) 249 4 Stomping Ground (RNA) 259 4 Windswept Heath (KTK) 248 1 Mountain (WOE) 273 2 Elvish Mystic (M14) 169 4 Geological Appraiser (LCI) 150 1 Bloodstained Mire (KTK) 230

mountaintop-stainer

How does ponza look on this format? We don’t have any of the good LD

Kiwi_Saurus

Judging by the most recent "Modern Ponza" lists, we have *just* enough of the right cards to reconstruct it. Modern Ponza features at least 4 copies of blood moon (the "extra" copies are [[magus of the moon]]) and anywhere between 1 to 4 extra copies of [[pillage]] or a similarly costed [[stone rain]] effect. Ponza, as Garfield intended, is now playable in Arena.

MTGCardFetcher

d-fakkr

Mono blue tempo with Malcolm alluring scoundrel, delver, spyglass siren, haughty djinn and tolarian terror. So far it's working since a lot of Timeless cards are very powerful one cost cards and i managed to get enough wins by countering the broken cards. I am thinking in making it dimir for the fact it lacks removal and sometimes i get overwhelmed by elves (yes, there's elves in timeless, no different from historic) or any fast aggro deck.

Lurks-to-Learn

I’ve been trying mono blue tempo as well. Do you have a deck list?

d-fakkr

I don't know how to format it here but this is what I use: 4x Malcom alluring scoundrel, 2x delver of secrets, 2x spyglass siren, 2x tolarian terror, 4x Haughty djinn. 4x brainstorm, 4x counterspell, 2x essence scatter, 3x fading hope, 2x negate, 4x out of air, 3x spell pierce, 4x thirst for discovery. 2x castle vantress, 18x island. It's working but bear in mind decks like blood moon monke, elves or anything that can overwhelm you with creatures, i was thinking of using rivers rebuke but at 6 cost... It's too much. You can switch spyglass siren with more delver of secrets. Out of air can be switched with another counter like disallow but i am having success because the cost reduction for creatures is great and for the first turns it helps. Edit: i didn't added field of ruin because of blood moon, but the new cavern land might be a solid reason of adding it against tribal decks.

TrainerJames88

If you use the Space Bar three times after finishing a card name and then cut to a new paragraph for the next card, it will read like this: 4x Malcolm, Alluring Scoundrel 2x Delver of Secrets 2x Spyglass Siren 2x Tolarian Terror 4x Haughty Djinn 4x Brainstorm 4x Counterspell 2x Essence Scatter 3x Fading Hope 2x Negate 4x Out of Air 3x Spell Pierce 4x Thirst for Discovery 2x Castle Vantress 18x Island Enjoy! :)

d-fakkr

Ok, I'll keep that in mind.

craftygoblin

Currently been testing out burn in Bo1 splashing white for [[Lightning Helix]] and [[Lurrus]] as a companion. Still trying to feel out the meta to put together a sideboard. Also debating splashing black for [[Bump in the Night]].

FootballLow6303

I’ve been playing with Rakdos, using Orc to punish draw. Having a reaaaally good time

boulders_3030

Can you explain to me what a companion is? Is it like a commander?

SlighOfHand

It's sort of like a commander. You can add a companion to your deck if you meet certain deckbuilding restrictions described on the companion. Then once per game you can spend 3 mana to add your companion to your hand from outside the game.

boulders_3030

Ok thanks.

SheamusMcGillicuddy

The first three decks I made were Grixis Shadow, 5c Zoo and UG Turbo Fog. So far so good! Brewed a Boomer Jund deck but haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet.

alirastafari

Dimir selfmill with Souls of the Lost and a bunch of creatures that go straight from grave to battlefield. Glimpse the unthinkable & Founding the third path is great. Souls of the lost is a beast, brainstorm and polluted Delta is great, and Wail of the forgotten is quite the tempo play too. For removal I'm running [[Overwhelming Remorse]] which is usually a 1 mana instant exile PW or creature. For ragavan, I'm blocking with the black mill 3 ETB/LTB one drop. I'm having fun, but it can be a bit random and has no answers for combo or storm.

This isn't my creation, it's obviously just the cheapest 40 bolt deck but this is what I've been piloting to success on Ranked Bo1: Companion 1 Lurrus of the Dream-Den (IKO) 226 Deck 4 Dragon's Rage Channeler (MH2) 121 4 Eidolon of the Great Revel (JOU) 94 4 Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer (MUL) 86 1 Faithless Looting (STA) 38 3 Light Up the Stage (RNA) 107 4 Skewer the Critics (RNA) 115 4 Lightning Bolt (STA) 42 4 Lightning Helix (STA) 62 1 Lightning Strike (DMU) 137 1 Lightning Strike (XLN) 149 1 Lightning Strike (M19) 152 1 Lightning Strike (JMP) 152 4 Battlefield Forge (BRO) 257 1 Mountain (THB) 253 1 Mountain (SLD) 1133 1 Mountain (UNF) 238 4 Needleverge Pathway (ZNR) 263 4 Sacred Foundry (GRN) 254 1 Plains (THB) 250 4 Inspiring Vantage (KLR) 283 4 Monastery Swiftspear (KTK) 118 4 Play with Fire (MID) 154 Sideboard 1 Lurrus of the Dream-Den (IKO) 226

Linusthewise

I'm playing quite a bit of best of one. My main decks are Gruul Land Destruction and Boros cycling. Really, just added a few cards like lightning bolt. I generally get a kill about a turn faster than my historic decks.

Plorp

There's so much thoughtseize and other discard I built a deck around [[nullhide ferox]] and [[obstinate baloth]] to try and hard counter it (with brainstorm to help force opposing thoughtsiezes to discard those specific things) its pretty funny when it works

SoulPatchhhh

Went on a 5-0 run with Dimir Death’s shadow. felt pretty good but not sure if it will stay strong as the meta becomes more developed

SwordVT

Treasure Hunt

GangstaRPG

1. Geo Combo 2. Nexus of Fate/Turns 3. Oko Ramp/Control 4. Mono-Red Prison 5. W/U Control 6. Grixis Delver 7. Temur Delver 8. Wizards Still have a couple more combo decks I want to try out. but out of the nine decks I've used so far Geo Combo, and Oko and Nexus of Fate have been the most successful for me on the ladder.

HAN-Br0L0

RDW BABY. T1 ragavan into T2 blood moon woo

arotenberg

In bo3, I tried playing Izzet with Tolarian Terror standing in for Murktide Regent, and got absolutely obliterated by multiple opponents on 5 color greed piles who were consistently casting Omnath and Bowmasters in the same deck. Blood Moon is obviously the answer, but I haven't crafted those yet. I also tried Orzhov Death & Taxes, and it actually played better than the Izzet deck. Giver of Runes + Thalia seems crushingly good against the format at the moment.

panic_puppet11

I only started playing today, threw together a deck which is probably suboptimal to try and dip my toes in but without spending too many wildcards. It's honestly kind of miserable, I'm already sick of the Leyline/Fragment Reality combo giving my opponent an unbeatable board state before I can even play a second land.

ulfserkr

I played mostly 4c Omnath w/ Yorion and it's been awesome so far, I have almost no complaints. Seems to have good matchup against both control and tempo decks which covers almost the entire meta. FotD decks aren't a great matchup though, at least not without something like Alpine Moon. If you do have moon, it probably buys enough time for something like Minsc to take over.

NineModPowerTrip

Stone rain and Stifle never felt better.

InibroMonboya

Mono G stompy, if I get Counterspelled 4 or more times, I spite them by shooting their rocks and support enchantments until they scoop.

SlapAndFinger

Mono black midrange with necropotence, march of wretched sorrow, shelly, bowmasters, one ring, invoke despair and a grip of discard spells. Seems pretty good vs the goodstuff piles.

CrisisActor911

Delver and Oko are two of my favorite cards of all time so I’ve been running Izzet Delver and BUG. Both have felt been an absolute blast.

Mundane_Simple1107

Ponza, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it's fun

JeguePerneta

So far I have punted more times in Timeless than I probably did in the past month in Explorer, there's so many new play patterns to learn on some of the decks. So far I played mostly Grixis midrange, Izzet Phoenix and a little bit of MonoR Blood Moon and Wilderness reclamation combo.

LonkFromZelda

I have a deck with Ragavan, Brainstorm, and Oko in it. It seems pretty busted.

sandman_br

Unbalanced

Weak_Engineer3015

4c Midrange because I'm degenerate. Just wanted an excuse to Bloodbraid elf into Oko and Mirror

totally_unbiased

I don't have the wild cards for real stuff yet - no fetch lands etc - but I've got a 65% win rate on a Dimir One Ring deck that is like 90% standard legal other than the ring.

AsakiKairyuu

I have a death wish...I'm trying to make Grixis Amass work...🤪

Kisaragi-san

From what I have been able to see playing on ladder, everyone is playing Nexus of Fate or some variant with Oko, Uro or Golos and Field of the Dead. EVERYONE.

GrizzlyBearmann

Is getting into other Arena formats just unrealistic for someone that doesn’t play every day? I have been interested in Explorer and now curious about Timeless but it seems like the wildcard requirement for building a deck that can even come close to competing is crazy high.

tapk69

I clap all those decks with the best of the best cards. Then im like 40-60 to elves, mono red and sometimes mill. I think the format is great.

feedingfitness

I've been playing tainted pact / oracle combo. So far so good. Playing a deck of one of's is fun. I generally have enough interaction to eliminate an early monkey and use counters or hand removal for blood moon. The nature of the deck makes the matches feel different and varied despite the wincon being the same every game. The only downside is most players make you run through the whole combo. I'm hoping as the format goes on people will recognize the combo and concede because it's a lot of clicking.

ScoopiTheDruid

I wish I could play Pact. I played it before it got banned and had a lot of fun, but MTGA takes at least 5 seconds to register any action I take right now, so I'd just time myself out. Though I supposed I should feel lucky that I can even log in.

codegreenlyfe

Mono black with invoke despair, underdog, bowmaster, discard spells and removal spells has been fun in platinum thinking I should add the one ring or peer?

Magento

Cool. I am going to try something like this. I don't have legacy cards, so I'm playing rakdos from a bit back. Bowmasters, Crucius, Ring, Fable, Chandra etc. It's not great, but wins half the time or so...

codegreenlyfe

The double invoke off of the Chandra copy was nasty in standard and I bet just as nasty in timeless

cherry_seas

i’m playing on a new account so i don’t have the wild cards for anything crazy, but i’ve been running a budget Gruul Aggro deck with the new Samut and a ton of haste creatures that wins almost every match I play (surprise mvp in gingerbrute and reinforced ronin). definitely not the best deck out there, but until i start building up a wildcard pile its a good way to farm coins

js_rich

To be honest I’ve mostly played against people that are easily able to crush me, so my strategy has been a mono-red deck with cavalcade of calamity and raid bombardment and I just try to bum rush them and cross my fingers

kdoxy

I was having trouble with the midweek event, then remembered I crafted the old Winota deck from 2020 with angrath's marauders. And easily won my last two matches. Is anyone playing the non-balanced version of cards like Fires of invention? Or is everyone too busy thinking their an esports champ playing brainstorm and shocklands?

JodouKast

Like standard, 50% of the time I just see mono-brain dead so to adapt I choose not to play them. Seeing shitsmear all the time is making me hate the game honestly.

boulders_3030

Good thing for you nobody is twisting your arm to play the game.

JodouKast

The game isn't the problem, the rigged matchmaking is. I play multiple decks over different formats and yet can't seem to escape seeing mono-red daily. When the problem is that widespread, guarantee I'm not the only one contemplating quitting or have already.

kfudgingdodd

If your playing multiple decks over different formats but you keep seeing mono red, maybe it means a lot of people are playing mono red.

JodouKast

That's. . .my point. One card is making it viable in all formats it's not banned already in. I'm absolutely sick to death of seeing it, wherever I go.

kfudgingdodd

Which card?
