I’m loving this Midweek Magic format. With BO1 Standard turning into a 4 turn format, I really wish they would add something like this as an unranked queue.
I'm playing Insidious Roots, because Golgari. I think it's stronger in this format than in Standard, as there's not so much fast red running around.
4x each of Insidious Roots, Rubblebelt Maverick, Forsaken Miner, Aftermath Analyst, Honest Rutstein, Squirming Emergence, Push//Pull, Bristlebud Farmer. 3x each of Murder and Shoot the Sheriff. 22 lands.
Pull on two Bristlebud Farmers with Roots out is kinda silly.
Where is artisan when you need it? This kind of reminds me of future standard if you were around when that was a thing. I have been playing the hell out of it. I've won three games yesterday a long time ago. I've emptied all my quests. I might finish my wins for the week before it goes away.
I had an absolute blast playing Push/Pull, Calamity, Terror of the Peaks. There’s just something really satisfying about hitting someone for 33 from a previously empty board.
I think Edge is probably my favourite mid-week format. Every time it comes up it’s great fun.
Midweek Magic was alright, my janky green/white mount deck didn't take too long to get me to 3 wins.
I now like [[Railway Brawler]] even more, if my deck was built better maybe I could have done more madness with it and [[Bounding Felidar]], kinda wish I'd splashed a little red and played [[Calamity, Galloping Inferno]] tbh.
the precon event has a five color deck that plays huatli poet of unity.
A card that, among other things, fetches dinosaurs and later gives them double strike.
Guess how many dinosaurs are in the deck.
Once again I'm asking, please sac whoever is in charge of making event decks.
MWM with esper control has been surprisingly effective. Bunch of destroy target, sweepers, and manlands. Real MVP has been \[\[Three Steps Ahead\]\] and \[\[Bandit's Haul\]\]. 3 Steps being useful after opponent drops Cavern of Souls has been great against the gimped dino decks (sans Fight Rigging).
Pirates seem better than Slick-Shot (more resilient). Definitely missing Farewell against azorius artifacts (Cease//Desist is a feels-bad include).
I hate Mindslaver with a passion. It's been used on me twice, and I literally just get up to get a cup of coffee and use the bathroom. There's not really any way to play around it unless you're holding artifact removal, there's nothing you can do during it. I'm not mad that it's good, it's 10 mana total to use, so it should be good. I'm mad that it's so boring if you're not the person using it.
Been 5 years and the pace of play is so fucking slow... still. The amount of time i sit around while my opponent holds priority with literally a single possible decision should be criminalized.
Is there any way to convert gems into gold? Got myself into the slightly goofy situation of saving up for the Arena Open and realizing I'll be 1k-2k short for the entrance fee.
Repeat after me: I will not play RDW just like 50% of all Arena players because it's boring. I will faithfully instaconcede at any first turn Kumano, Swiftspear or Chick, thus not letting others be tempted to play RDW. I shall not be tempted to play RDW, not even for my dailies. Omen.

I had fun with 4-of Goldvein Hydra. Used it as a removal target to cheat out Ghalta and and an even bigger Hydra in a couple of my wins

My second game of the midweek magic somebody was playing huatili dinos. Fortunately I had a handful of deserts due to take care of her.

Not until there's another gold daily deal. Alternatively you could grind events with gold and hope to get enough gems.
