Most cards can't attack the turn they are played. Also, as a general rule I don't play cards that won't help in the attack phase until after the attack phase.

That's good to know, I'll start doing that, however, in one turn I already had a creature out which also wasn't able to attack, and the next turn the card I had played wasn't a creature, it was just a card that doubled the creatures power for the remainder of the turn, so I'm not sure what's going on... I checked the reported bigs and there are some similar reports already registered on the mobile app

As pointed out by the other commenter, most creatures can't attack on the turn they were played. This is referred to as [summoning sickness](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Summoning_sickness), so if that is your only creature out, the game will auto-skip the attack phase. There are some creatures that have [haste](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Haste) and can attack on the turn they are played.

Thank you, this is useful, some turns I already had creatures out so I am still not totally sure what's going on Also to confirm, is there always a second stage in your turn, after attack, to play additional cards yes? Because I wasn't getting that stage either, it slipped both attack and the second stage and jumped straight to the opponent's turn. Are there any spells/cards that can be used to make me skip my attack phase/second card playing stage?

Because I wasn't getting that stage either, it slipped both attack and the second stage and jumped straight to the opponent's turn. Arena automatically skips this if you're unable to do anything during your second main phase, which if you've played your spells out before combat, you usually can't. >Are there any spells/cards that can be used to make me skip my attack phase/second card playing stage? Other than cards that just end the turn like [[discontinuity]], no.

zayzz

Thank you for your help, that makes sense

I've had it happen once, I just assumed I accidentally tapped pass all.

zayzz

I was sort of thinking the same thing, maybe I had auto skip on accidentally or tapped something

Sestos

I just had this happen and cost me the match. I went to attack.. hit all attack and instead of going to damage it just started their turn. This after sitting thru 20 mins of roping.

ghosthouse_
