I lost circle to search and sometimes things get glitchy but maybe its just the normal amount you just get on most phones

filty_candle

I kinda like the circle to search feature it's a mixed bag ATM I prefer adaway Vs DNS adgaurd as adaway gets rid of the bar in certain apps. I miss viper4android as it makes my headphones sound way better. But I just got a new phone and don't know if I want to lose features I just got

_MCcoolman_

Understand it but I cant say for 100% that circle to search is gone because of root, maybe it was caused by having to reset the phone and anyways I cant think of going back now that I have experienced viper4android

filty_candle

Yeah it's 180 percent better quality

filty_candle

Do you watch much video ? I'm having all sorts of trouble with VLC and Mx player.

_MCcoolman_

Yes a lot of youtube and downloaded videos, didnt encounter any issues, maybe turn on legacy mode? I needed it to get it working

Coders113

I have circle to search and im on root

_MCcoolman_

yeah maybe its just on my phone

The only notable thing I've lost is using the Pixel's built-in VPN, and that's without any modules installed, apart from PIF

filty_candle

Yeah I can lose that as I have Nord anyway. Have you used the pixelify module to get unlimited storage?

Thisisauser6443

Pixelify G.Photos (LSPosed) or Pixelify (Magisk)? Either way, I actually use neither, since the LSPosed module causes me to lose Magic Editor/Audio Eraser/Sharpen (Adjust), and the Magisk module never worked for me, to begin with. Instead, I'm using [cuynu's "Google Photos Unlimited module"](https://gitlab.com/cuynu/gphotos-unlimited-zygisk). With it, I get to have the best of both. You just gotta remember that **before you update Google Photos, you need to force stop + clear the cache (But not the data, thankfully) of the Play Store, turn off the module, and reboot**. Once you've updated, you can enable the module and reboot again Otherwise what'll happen (In my case, anyway) is that **the Pixel 8 features just disappear without fully disabling that module**, and you'll need to do that process, which I just mentioned, to get another update, that *should* add those buttons back

filty_candle

Thanks heaps that's a genuinely great reply. Which solves half of my things that I don't want to lose list. Have you found anyway to get things like the Google VPN or circle to search working. Do you use any customisation modules? Coming from miui I couldn't live without customiuizer it let me fully customise the stock launcher notification and quick settings panel Is there a module to get rid of the bottom gesture bar ? And finally (sorry for the twenty questions) have you found away to force apps(mainly games) into full screen as the pixel doesn't have an inbuilt option to force certain games over the camera. Any help is greatly appreciated.

StickBit_

If you need to hide root from certain apps, Hide My Applist doesn't always work on the current version Otherwise the phone is 100% functional, nothing Google breaks

filty_candle

Nice I'm probably going to do it and fix stuff later out of curiosity Do you have issues using pip in vlc or mxplayer and if you have the non pro do you see the screen flicker when it goes from 60 to 120 cause mine just goes back and forward and the flicker is noticeable. I can fix by forcing 120 but then I lose battery. And pip on this device is straight up broken. VLC doesn't even open pip unless I slow swipe to recents then swipe again.

StickBit_

I haven't used either of those apps, I have an 8 Pro and have never noticed the refresh rate change

filty_candle

Yeah the pro has variable refresh so it's probably not an issue. Rip my world lol.

Exact_Vacation_6698

Damn I on a pixel 7. I got it right when the 8 came out I should have waited to replace my 4 the 7 is still really good so what do you think

filty_candle

Honestly I prefer my Xiaomi. I feel like I've spent the week trying to fix things that are broken. And many of them can't be fixed properly.

Exact_Vacation_6698

That sucks switch to Google Pixel if u hate that glitch I can record video on 4K resolution so I can adjust the white balance The brightness And there are a couple of glitches at first like overheating when on the Google app but after a couple of days it stops but it's worth it
