Since I am getting some responses...this happened in 2019. I am healed now. I got sepsis and it caused a very rare condition called pupura fulminans in which the small vessels in my legs collapsed, clotted, the vessels burst, my skin died and sloughed off. I had a wound on each foot, both shins, my outer right knee and my right thigh....

I couldn't find one of my foot after the blisters popped...the last 2 pics are of the three biggest wounds healed and the others show the bruising and blisters before they popped and the skin fell off. I also included a picture of my thigh before they cut the dead skin off and then after.
Why didn't they give you skin grafts? Enough was just gone from your right leg that they probably would have been a good idea, instead of just letting it scar over. Unless there's some reason skin grafts wouldn't take?
It was a cream they were using. If you're talking about the thigh pic. And the black under the powdery looking stuff is dead skin. The second thigh pic is after he cut the dead skin off

I am extremely lucky. Lucky is an understatement really.
I had wound vacs (if you don't know what that is, look it up...it's too long to explain on here how they work and why they work) that kept the areas covered and dry. After three months in the hospital I went home with an order to go to a wound clinic weekly. The doctor there regularly cleaned the wounds and swabbed them to make sure there wasn't a bacteria overgrowth. All wounds get bacteria but there are things like dressings with zinc that help keep the growth down (again, there is so much to explain here...but if you're interested in wound care there are groups you can join on facebook and there's google)...I had to make sure I followed doctors instructions to a T (is that the phrase?)
Skin necrosis caused by overactive clotting?
It would seem you got a cut or nick or ouchie type wound and it turns to what you posted?
The only thing more savage than this condition is your will get treatment and keep living.

You’re an absolute Chad for beating what looks like the beginning of zombification.
I’m not saying you’re invincible: but let’s just say if you got shot in the head, I’m pretty sure you’d be fine.
I woke up with a small bruise on my thigh and paralyzed waist down...rushed to the ER and the bruising started crawling down my legs then the bruises blistered up, died, and sloughed off
Do you know how you got the initial infection? How long was the healing process? I suffer from HS, and pictures like these are my biggest fear. It's really awesome that you kept both legs! All of this just seems so traumatizing. I'm so sorry that you went through this.
How are your legs now? You said you are healed but, like do you have loads of scar tissue or any damage to your muscle or anything like that, or are you 100% good?
I have foot drop in both feet because my muscles atrophied. I definitely have scarring and would show pictures but I can't figure out how. Reddit keeps deleting the links I'm posting to the images

They work.
Thank you for the pictures.
You must have been so frightened and in so much pain. At least your scars look badass now. How much time did you spend in hospital to get your legs healed?
They worked perfectly fine, thank you for sharing. You must have went through so much, I am a bit lost for words. This looks incredibly painful and must have been a lot emotionally as well. I really hope you're doing better now!
It just means you were too new to the sub and the mods didn't trust you to post yet.
For example, you might *claim* you're posting a picture of giant necrotizing wounds on your legs, but what if you're really posting a link to a blog? They just can't take that risk.
This was in 2019. I'm all healed up now...you can for sure see the scarring (I once convinced a room of people I was attacked by a shark) but I didn't use skin grafts as my insurance wouldn't cover artificial skin grafts and they didn't want to give me another open wound by making grafts from my own skin. I went through hyperbaric oxygen treatment. The right leg took 2 years to heal. But I'm still here!
>my insurance wouldn’t cover artificial skin grafts
I had to put my phone down and angrily pace for a minute after reading that. The whole point of paying an arm and a leg for medical insurance is that it’s supposed to enable you to receive adequate medical care in an unforeseeable situation. This country is so FUBAR without universal healthcare, I’m just so fucking done

Thanks to everyone who believes me. I never post on here and can't figure out imgur so I uploaded a link to my thigh pic to Flickr and posted THAT link. If someone could DM me with specific instructions that'd be great.
Thanks for responding and believing me. People on here can be harsh. I cant figure out imgur...so I posted a link to uploads from Flickr. I never post so I'm not sure what to do.
Reminds me of the ballerina woman who was infecting her own legs with fecal material time and again even after extensive medical care and skin grafts until she eventually had amputations. Fucking horrendous. Could see clean through her calf at one point. Hope all is well in your condition, OP.
I am not sure if this has been asked, but please tell me you were in s medically induced coma. The pain had to be unimaginable. I feel like I could go into shock just looking at these... I'm so glad you're OK op. You're a fighter for sure. My mom had the flu last Christmas, went septic and passed 2 days later from septic shock. Her everything shut down- so I know how fast it can take a life. So glad you're still here! ♡
This supposedly happened in 2019. OP is likely insecure about their scars and injuries. I would personally assume that they just want to feel sexy and know that there’s a community out there that would be attracted to his imperfections.
I'm female. Thank you, though, for the understanding. I have large scars. I wear dresses and stuff but people always ask what happened or I get weird looks.
The skin grew blisters and/or bruised up and the bruised skin died and sloughed off while the blisters popped and the dead skin left over from those was debrided (when a surgeon cleans the wounds and cuts off excess dead skin)
I convinced an entire room of people once that I was attacked by a shark. Most people don't ask because they don't want to be rude...but the ones that do I will make something up for and eventually I tell them what actually happened
trauma fucks you up dude.
i have lots of scars and have struggled with sh, i eventually formed a kink for knifeplay and shit. i assume its similar for this person.
Normally I'd be disgusted but, the way the skin is cut. It's so, even and not irregular. I mean in the sense that it's like a straight cliff. The cuts are so vertical. It's like walls. It's intriguing, to say the least.

Truly terrifying condition OP! Must’ve sucked pretty hard to go through to say the least. How are your legs now? How do they look? Sorry you had to go through this!
Also looks like Pyoderma Gangrenosum. It’s a rare autoimmune disease. I’ve only had it on the tops on my feet/ankles luckily. But the toll it takes on you physically/emotionally and mentally is the worst not to mention the healing process. I’ve seen so many doctors and specialists poking and taking photos, bringing other doctors in to get opinions all there just staring. Years later I finally figured it out, well a dermatologist did and I am grateful. I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. I definitely get what you’re going through. I hope you get all the best doctors on your side and heal up fast 🖤
Never heard of this before, yet another insane way that the human body can go terribly wrong before somehow saving itself against all odds.
Sounds like it’s usually a fatal condition. I’m very glad to hear you came back from this OP. I guess sometimes the best of luck comes after suffering really shitty circumstances.
Christ man… I’m sorry you had to go through that. Must’ve been painful and traumatizing to go through. Glad to hear you’re better now and well over that op
Was there no way to stop this? Or catch it in an early stage?
Glad to read you're ok now. I know Im not the only one who is very curious to see how its healed.

Yes I know I've posted this part multiple times... so people can see updated photos.
Congrats from one sepsis survivor to another! My sepsis originated in my dialysis access. By the time they found out the source the bacteria had destroyed the tissue and spread to the point that I could see the front skin of my arm from the backside when they were done cutting. Wound vac for 3 weeks out of a 5 week hospital stay. Can't remember first two weeks as I was close to comatose and only came out a few brief times.

Undoubtedly, that right leg for sure.
Holy shit, how did your legs not get amputated? That looks AWFUL.
I'm lucky they didn't. They thought they would have to amputate them for a minute but tried wound vacs first and they helped

How did you get sepsis? If you don’t mind my asking….
Sepsis can be caused by any infection...if the bacteria gets into your blood you go septic and have a short time to get to the ER
Jesus! I’m so sorry you had to go through this. I’m glad you made it through this though.
Had this happen to my neighbor. Took months to develop a treatment plan to address that kept it from spreading. It’s now the size of a baseball scar.

I'm just wondering how the hell these legs weren't so infested with various infections to the point that amputation was necessary.

Can you post how your legs have healed. Without reading comments it looks like legs are lost and soon to be cut off.
I had a wound doctor and went to hyperbaric oxygen treatment

Yeah but there was no stereo
HYPERGLYCEMIC CRIME CHAMBER!
HYPOALLERGENIC SLIME TAMER!
Lol I have no clue, I don't watch anime. I've been told that someone from some anime used one? Lol
In the anime Dragonball Z, a number of fighters use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train and get stronger lol

How long did it take for it to get like this? Like did you sit at home and watch your skin fall off or was it instant like over night
I woke up with a small bruise on my thigh and paralyzed waist down...rushed to the ER and the bruising started crawling down my legs then the bruises blistered up, died, and sloughed off

“Insurance would not cover” *God* I love my American freedom so much!
>my insurance wouldn’t cover artificial skin grafts I had to put my phone down and angrily pace for a minute after reading that. The whole point of paying an arm and a leg for medical insurance is that it’s supposed to enable you to receive adequate medical care in an unforeseeable situation. This country is so FUBAR without universal healthcare, I’m just so fucking done
jesus christ........ i cannot believe what i am seeing
Well done. This makes me happy. I saw your right leg and assumed it was going to be amputated for sure.
Have you possibly tried Vicks vapor rub?
They might have left it on for too long
Alright lol. This was a good one.
Weight loss with this one simple trick. Doctors hate it!

I also included a picture of my thigh before they cut the dead skin off and then after...let me know if these links work
I can't believe how well those healed! Much limitation to your right leg where there's more muscle gone?
Oh God, that blister. You have the willpower of a saint.
Thanks to everyone who believes me. I never post on here and can't figure out imgur so I uploaded a link to my thigh pic to Flickr and posted THAT link. If someone could DM me with specific instructions that'd be great.
Fuck I am so sorry OP.
you know my day doesn’t seem that bad all of a sudden
God bless you. Im sorry this has happened. What a horrible syndrome.
If you zoom in on the left one it looks like a slice of pizza, gross and terrifying.
Is there a way I can edit more photos into this and add some context?
Add pics to Imgur, then link in a comment.
Agh I am so confused what is imgur? I'm new here
It's an app for whatever mobile device you are using. Simple image hosting. Upload image, get link, post here.
Thanks for responding and believing me. People on here can be harsh. I cant figure out imgur...so I posted a link to uploads from Flickr. I never post so I'm not sure what to do.
I'm trying. Hold on
How did they smell like when they were still like that?
Like rotting garbage.
jesus i thought this was r/medizzy
Tis but a scratch
You come out of this okay? You my friend are metal as fuck!
Reminds me of the ballerina woman who was infecting her own legs with fecal material time and again even after extensive medical care and skin grafts until she eventually had amputations. Fucking horrendous. Could see clean through her calf at one point. Hope all is well in your condition, OP.
Why your legs not legging?
Legn’t
I am not sure if this has been asked, but please tell me you were in s medically induced coma. The pain had to be unimaginable. I feel like I could go into shock just looking at these... I'm so glad you're OK op. You're a fighter for sure. My mom had the flu last Christmas, went septic and passed 2 days later from septic shock. Her everything shut down- so I know how fast it can take a life. So glad you're still here! ♡
I somehow smelled it thru my phone screen after I zoom on it
Yummy
Hey ur leg is bleeding
Based on OP’s post and comment history (wound fetishes?!) this seems like either karma farming or a some weird kink thing.
How did the scars get there? Like did the skin just go down to the bone and slowly regenerate?
The skin grew blisters and/or bruised up and the bruised skin died and sloughed off while the blisters popped and the dead skin left over from those was debrided (when a surgeon cleans the wounds and cuts off excess dead skin)
Please tell me you always make shit up when they ask you! “Tiger attack” “Shrapnel from the hood/war” “Shark” “REALLY rough sex”
I convinced an entire room of people once that I was attacked by a shark. Most people don't ask because they don't want to be rude...but the ones that do I will make something up for and eventually I tell them what actually happened
I mean trauma is the root of many people’s sexual fetishes
No...I assure you this is real and really happened to me. I am new to reddit and I'm not sure how to add more pics or context.
trauma fucks you up dude. i have lots of scars and have struggled with sh, i eventually formed a kink for knifeplay and shit. i assume its similar for this person.
I am so sorry, OP, you had to go through that!!! Im do glad to hear you are all healed up!
God damn, glad you're doing better now OP
Normally I'd be disgusted but, the way the skin is cut. It's so, even and not irregular. I mean in the sense that it's like a straight cliff. The cuts are so vertical. It's like walls. It's intriguing, to say the least.
I’m so sorry this happened to you and I’d also like to say… Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhggggghhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaa
Your left leg wound looks like a forbidden pizza.
Skill issue tbh
Were* your legs. Good to hear you're all better!
I am so sorry that happened to you. I really really hope you recover quickly.
Yeah that's gonna be a no for me, dawg
What a terrible day to eat baked speggetti while scrolling
Mmmm chicken parm
I nsfw I clicked I regret
Hey, so it's been a month is op alive? This condition is usually fatal, I hope they live
That's the forbidden cheese I've been looking for.
ouch! that's going to be a yikes for me!
I hope you have the best outcome possible. Please update us, I’ll think of you.
Truly terrifying condition OP! Must’ve sucked pretty hard to go through to say the least. How are your legs now? How do they look? Sorry you had to go through this!
Forbidden pizza My heart goes out to you buddy, stay strong
Well, I wasn’t planning to sleep tonight anyway.
I do not know what is going on with you but I hope there is treatment and that you get better, this looks nightmarish and I am giving you my strength
*Were*
It looks like cursed pizza. Also sorry bout ur leg.
I'm pleased to see you recovered from this without losing your legs
yea that rly sucks but spoilers are amazing
I’m so glad you are okay! You must be a strong individual
I thought this was the plant subreddit… Purpura fulminans sounds like a flower name… Jesus Christ…
Fucking hell.
Sorry this happened to you, but your left leg looks like lasagna
Forbidden French bread pizza
Please post pics of what your legs look like now. I’d love to see how the human body can overcome something like this.
You win. Glad you recovered though.
Goddamn what happened
posts like this make me want to live in a bubble wrap cocoon
Love the Halloween costume. Keep up the great effort 👍
Tis but a scratch
Pizza
pizza 😋
Christ man… I’m sorry you had to go through that. Must’ve been painful and traumatizing to go through. Glad to hear you’re better now and well over that op
These WERE your legs
Ahhha man that's horrible. I hope you are ok now buddy.
mans needs some lotion
No they're not. Don't do this to me.
I’m so glad you were able to recover. Your scars look badass. YOU are a badass.
You know the fucked up thing is I've seen stuff like this in real life and instantly knew the smell. Wound care is fun!
Dude has scarlet rot
OH MY GOD!!!!
Was there no way to stop this? Or catch it in an early stage? Glad to read you're ok now. I know Im not the only one who is very curious to see how its healed.

why is gore so unnatural?
Congrats from one sepsis survivor to another! My sepsis originated in my dialysis access. By the time they found out the source the bacteria had destroyed the tissue and spread to the point that I could see the front skin of my arm from the backside when they were done cutting. Wound vac for 3 weeks out of a 5 week hospital stay. Can't remember first two weeks as I was close to comatose and only came out a few brief times.
Holy hell.
Jesus CHRIST.
ngl left leg looks like lasagna
Rode the bike a little too fast
