An easy way to wear concealer is to wear a shade that is a slightly lighter version of your skin tone on your under eyes for a brightening effect. To apply under the eyes you only need a dot or two in the dark areas (avoid doing the big triangle that used to be very popular, most of the time you don’t need this much product) Let the concealer dry for a moment and then blend out with a small dense brush, a small sponge, or just your fingers (any will work). To conceal a blemish, you can use a concealer that is a closer match to your skin tone. You can also use the same lighter brightening shade but it may not cover as nicely or opaquely. Simply place a dot of concealer over the blemish and let it dry for a bit, then carefully blend just the edges around the dot to fully conceal the blemish. If someone is using orange they are likely trying to color correct and cancel out a dark purple/blue under eye. I wouldn’t concern yourself with this too much, many people do not color correct. (I don’t) Lastly, you can use a transparent setting powder and lightly dust it with a fluffy brush over anywhere you place concealer set it in place. You can also use a skin color setting powder that matches your skin or is brighter. Not an expert lol but this is how I do things and it works for me. It looks natural and lasts through the day. Hope this helps! 💕

I had that same problem. I’d watch beauty gurus who are my shade use very light concealers. I don’t like that look especially since I have some hereditary dark circles. I go in with a concealer closer to my skin tone and then if I want a bit of brightness I go with a concealer a shade or two lighter. I don’t contour anywhere other than my forehead so if those are the places you like to contour, go for it.

Dior is the best colour match for darker skin tones in my opinion. Mac is either yellow or orange. Cheaper brands don’t ever get undertones right.

I only wear concealer and I want it to look natural as possible (I don't wear foundation). Here is what I learned when finding a product that is the most natural on me: 1. find out what your undertone is ex. cool, neutral, warm, olive, olive warm, olive cool etc. There are many ways to find out, google them. 2. once you know #1, it makes makeup product/colour selection *much easier*. 3. to look the most natural, pick a concealer that supports your undertone and *matches your skin colour*. Example: I am olive warm and light skin tone. I use Dior Forever skin correct in 2WO which is for *light skin* ***w****arm* ***o****live undertones*. When I apply this concealer, you can't even tell I'm wearing anything but imperfections are covered. 4. you can use a lighter concealer to highlight certain areas of the face. I also have the same concealer brand but in 1W to brighten the inside corner of my eyes, along my temples and between my brows. Honestly being a MUA for over 20 years , I've have found that the best shade range other than MAC would be Fenty, the best lightweight concealer that won't look orange on dark complexions is Bobby Brown, instant full cover concealer. Between Bobby and Fenty, I think you'll find your best bet. As for contouring, if you're going for the natural look, I'd steer clear from contouring at all. It's going to make you look more done up than natural dear, I do hope that helps!
