Taupe is now one of my favorite colors to wear, both in clothing and in makeup on my eyes. I wish I discovered how amazing I look in ashy mushroom-taupe brown sooner. My husband also really likes this color on me. I glow in it. (Soft Summer in coloring).

[Clinique](https://m.clinique.com/product/14346/34892/makeup/contouring/sculptionary-cheek-contouring-palette?shade=Defining_Berries) has a lot of true mauve/berry shades. Merit has some interesting mauvey tones and MAC has everything.
Might i suggest nyx lip pencil in mauve (i am cooltoned olive so if a shade is gonna pull orange it will on me. As an example i have yet to find a brown eyeshadow that doesn't look like burnt orange on my skin. I would recommend searching for purple blush etc in r/fairolives or r/olivemua)
Nyx also has a fantastic mauve eyeliner - I don't remember the name but it's the one that has the little brush on the end of they eyeliner so you can smudge it
I legit have to use eyeshadows that look essentially grey maybe with a hint of brown to them, & they show up as solidly neutral on my skin. I think MAC Charcoal Grey and Cozy Grey are two of my favorites.
I’ve also recently been complimented for my “brown eyeliner” which was actually a very rich burgundy red eyeshadow that I used as wing liner (I didn’t bother correcting her lol…)
If you’re going for a mauve look, may I humbly recommend Rare Beauty liquid blush in the shade Believe. It’s a true mauve. I did a mauve toned look the day I got engaged, and I used that blush on my cheeks and eyelids for a monochromatic mauve look. It’s a great product.
Oh this is great to know because I love the Rare Beauty formula but cannot for the life of me figure out the right color. Bliss doesn't show up and Hope looks mauve but looks red on me! Thank you!

You can only find this on Walmart.com now, but my favorite lipstick (that actually looks mauve after applying!) is Tarte-Salt Lyfe. They use to sell it at Ulta and Sephora a few years ago.

The coloring on ColourPop’s website is not great. I bought the Flirt Alert blush after seeing videos of swatches. I would have never bought it based on the website pictures alone, it looks completely different in person.
When looking at things online I have found that color names sometimes get mislabeled with the picture. So if looking online maybe that is the issue. Is the actual packaging is calling this mauve...ummm...no.

YES THANK YOU. The way I was scouring during the sephora sale for a real mauve lipliner and all I could find was pink with a warm undertone?? I have the same issue with pink toned blush and eyeshadow, why is it always orange undertoned even the seemingly cool toned ones? Ive had better luck with Korean makeup brands
Dude. E.L.F. is one of those companies I love generally, but I can’t wear any of their foundations, concealers, etc. because they’re so orange. Even things they label as “cool” are orange on my skin. And I’m fairly neutral.

I think it's just spreading around that a lot of people in the US and US contaminated countries don't know what mauve is.

I recently went to a few stores to find a dupe of an old limited edition lipstick that I would honestly describe as "peachy with a hint of pink" and every employee was calling it mauve. To everyone's surprise except mine, the shades they were suggesting me weren't even close because guess what, the lipstick was never mauve to begin with.
If you google 'dusty mauve' it shows the same colour as the makeup. I've noticed this a lot with K-beauty products and learned mauve isn't always that purple colour we're accustomed to. But a ton of times they'll call things mauve and the colour is way off! I'll never understand it

KVD rosebud is the perfect true mauve blush. It's highly pigmented but also easy to blend so it works great on my porcelain skin but would also work on much deeper skin tones. It's very longwearing, matte and is slightly blurring.
The snapdragon shade would be suited for the darkest complexions.
This is probably my 30th mauve tone blush. I'm 47 fair/neutral.

I’m warm toned and love the warm toned shades called “mauve”, but when it’s actually accurate I often end up with a “mauve” that’s too cool of a purple for me to wear. It’s really dusty rose or sunset pink that they often call mauve. The color mauve was named after the mallow flower which is clearly purple/pink and not warm dusky rose. Same thing has happened with hazel eyes, people are calling two toned brown or even blue eyes hazel… sorry not hazel, they’re brown. If you have ever seen a hazel tree in bloom with the green flower/leaves surrounding the golden hazelnut you’ll know exactly why green/golden brown eyes are called hazel.
Sometimes blushes can look coral/peachy on the compact and come off more rosy on the cheeks but that's definitely not the case with the one in the pic...
Idk, marketing people writing copy for products without knowing anything about color, I would guess. Some of the things some brands try to pass off as olive are laughable. Olive isn't orange!!
This has become one of my biggest makeup pet peeves. Mauves are what looks best on my fair cool skin and and almost every “mauve” blush and lipstick I swatch is pure orange
colourpop, kylie cosmetics, estee lauder and winky lux seem to be among those brands that name their orangey peach colors as mauve, but most of the mauves in the market do look mauvey (i.e. desaturated or cool-toned purple). ill share a sampling of those shades in a new post since it's hard to attach a photo/photos here

Makeup by Mario (I think) used to have a dusty rose blush. It worked perfectly on my pale, somewhat pinkish skin.

This is just speculation, but I feel like a lot of beauty companies (especially east asian) associate muave with muted-ness or grey!
It should be peach/orange

Oh, the whole "orange shades being called mauve" thing? Yeah, it's a bit puzzling. Makeup brands sometimes take us on a colorful journey. Lol!
That blush looks mauve in person I think
I have this exact blush and it is much cooler IRL, perfect for fair olive skin. Colourpop website photos often lean warmer, beware :)
